  3. Thank you guys. And still under construction.
  4. Today out in the sun. Time to check the alignment of the panels and seams. The car is to low in the front and the to do list is getting shorter. This is a very nice angle. I like the shape very well. I cant wait to drive ......
  5. It looks like a real car. The end is near.
  6. At this time, I am celebrating the projects 10th year under construction anniversary. Still progress and there is light at the end of the tunnel. To be continued.
  7. In the last weeks, I got the electrical system tested and the engine running. I had some issues with some modifications and a frozen fuel pressure regulator. Sometimes I have to work under supervision.
  8. Last years he learned me some tips and tricks. He supplied me all the connectors. I bought the right tools and had Xander as backup. Good progress at this time.

  10. Engine ready to install Modified S14 gearbox Engine in place and modified electrical system. to be continued....
  11. The brake line is sold at an automotive supply shop, so thats fine. Some progress.
  12. Progress. Rear suspension assembled. And almost fitted under the body.
  13. The copper is sold on a roll with a diameter from approx 350mm and i used a length of 7.5metres. The line to the back of the car was fine. I measured the stock length of the line that i wanted to copy and straigtend the copper line on a wooden block in the vice and tapped it gently with a plastic or wooden mallet. To bent the line i used a piece of tube with 40 mm diameter. With a special tool can you make the flare on the end of the line. Good luck and be patient.
  14. Brake lines fuel lines and some electrical wiring installed in the body. On the battery location will be the cng evapourator and the coolant catchtank.
  15. The front hubs were designed to fit a 65 mustang gt 350 in combination with brake disks from a 95 BMW 5 series. The customer wanted aluminum hubs to save weight. These steel hubs left in the shop and I could use them for my project. The outer diameter from the bearings are the same for mustang and s30. I used toyota 4pot calipers with custom brackets. These are welded with the right offset to the struts. Thehubs where also cnc machined to match the 120mm 5 lug BMW size. Now its also possible to mount rims with 5 x 4 1/2. In the rear I welded the square flanges and machined them to round flanges. They are with double patern to match BMW and mustang.
  16. First they painted the inside and backside of all panels. Than they masked everyting that was painted in the color. All panels where mounted on the body and than they painted the outside. This is to be sure that al parts have an even layer of paint all around and to minimize overspray and dust particles in the paint.
  17. Finally som pics. A couple of weeks ago. I took the car home. My paintshop did a great job. It is very difficult to get the right color on the picture. The color is not that blue, but a little bit more grey. Color Nissan 564 Mount Fuji Blue
  18. Finally. My paint shop found some time for me. more paint soon.
  19. I invite everyone to chop a top. A lot of people have an idea in mind. But to create of modify the metal work of your Z and make it look good, that will be an other story. I had in mind that the finnished car should have the looks like its could be made this way in the factory. When I read the story of the development of the Z, I found out that the first prototype that was on display in the USA had a lower roof and a flat floor. The average amerikan was too tall for the car and the designer had to raise the roof and in the bodyshop they changed the floor. When I look to the lines of my car, are they in the right proportion. It is no problem to make an more agressive top chop but you will get more troubles for free. And it is difficult not to create a Quasimodo with ugly lines. And dont forget this will be my daily driver. With glass and heater and a little comfort. And at last can anybody show me pics from a finnished chopped Z? Because they are very hard to find. Greetz Jack
  20. Measured from the top of the roof, height will be around 1.14 metres. Measured on the flange from bottom door sill is 0.13 metres. I had to raise my front crossmember, framerails and floor to keep groundclearance. The painter promised to be finished in three weeks. I cant wait....
  21. Here is mine. It has been a project car for years. After a lot of bodywork finally to the paintshop.
