I still dont know which color. but Im thinking of something silver or grey. I have got used to the bare metal and I dont want to have a very modern or screaming color.

I would like to write the complete story, but it will take too much time. Maybe in the future when the project is completed. I hope to post soon some new pics. Greetz Jack

When you modernize the front windscreen seal, you also have to do the other window seals. My opinion is that when you are modifying something, that mod has to fit in the whole design, removing driprails for example is used for a design from the nineteens. The s30 is still an old design, when you want it to look good, than you need a very good plan before you start the mod. Greetz Jack.

Hi guys, thank you for the comments on my car. If you want to see more pics and updates go to the link in the bottom of this post. If that doesn't work, go to fabrication forum or search for top chop. I'm only updating in that topic. I don't know how tall 6'5" is but i am 1.84 meter and raised the floor 35mm and chopped the top 50mm. The seat is tilted backwards and mounted on the floor in the back. In the driving position I still have some 5 cm space. When I had to do it again my first goal would be door glass that fits from the start and build the rest to fit the glass. In my case I have to cut side glass from a truck front windscreen. When I started to lower the roof I completely removed the front windscreen frame including wiper mount ant tilted it backwards. Now I can use a stock windscreen and I have to modifie all body panels around the windscreen fo a proper fit. I am still using the stock doorglass frames to keep the classic style of the origional car. And when I had to it again, I would start with a tuned s30 so only the chop had to be done. If You want more information. Go to the fabricaton forum. Greetz Jack

The shape of late Aston Martin models is just an evolution from the lines of an s30. They also used the name from my project for their supercar. The ONE77. ONE from one of a kind and 77 from date of birth

Hi guys, I'm not building my car with 15" wheels but with 8,5x16 with 225/50-16 in front with 25mm extra length lower control arm, and 9,5x16 with 225/50-16 in the back. Rear control arms have 30mm extra length and I hammered the flares out of 0.8mm sheet metal. It was a lot of work to fabricate the fenders and weld them, all seams were body soldered and filed flush with the body. The wheels are from ACT and came from an old BMW 535i. It is just to give an idea how wide you can go with wide rims, wide flares and/or wide control arms. On the pics have only the hood and bonnet paint When you look at the car for the second time, you can notice the top chop roof. more pics on the link below http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php/topic/107335-top-chop-update/page__p__1004250__fromsearch__1#entry1004250

Hi guys, In a Sleepless night a couple of years ago, I had such an idea. Lets chop the roof from my s30. My first nightmare was that it should apear like the car above. Now after years, its first apearance outside. these are the only pics in this topic, see more in http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php/topic/107335-top-chop-update/ I know now how much work it is to top chop your 240z s30 datsun, the man who Chopped this top had a vision I guess. But you have to love the result. Greetz Jack280

Some new pics from rear suspension parts and supercharger / engine mount. fitting stock windscreen without cutting glass experimental quarterglas cut from a front windscreen from an old Bmw E30 Experimental door glass cut from a 7mm truck windscreen, the shape / curve from the glass came close to the stock curve of the s30 glass. To cut the glass I searched youtube and spoke to some glass cutting craftsmen. After that looking for some glass and the right tools. A simple glass cutter from 12 euro didn't work. I cut an aluminum template and started with the right tools and glasscutting oil. To cut out the first usable piece took a lot of patience. The lower part of the glass has to be cut loose with a razorblade, lit on fire and cut. The truck glass was only to practice cutting, sanding and polishing. Now I have to find better glass from the right thickness and shape.

The 240 topmount is +/- 20 mm lower. Measured from shock mount to 3 bolt flange.

For the rear suspension i am using 240z struts with stiffer red koni shoks, the suspension tower from a 260/280 is higer positioned in the bodyshell. In combination with jim cook racing springs, i have a low combination. To fix the ride height, i have to make some measurements for the thickness of my topmount. The flange is welded to make it circular than machined with BMW 5 lug and arp wheelstuds. The trailing arms are from chromoly tubing. I hope to make soon more pics.

The only picture i have, is one standing in the back of the container before shipping. I hope to post soon more pics from the side glass experiment and window frames. Greetings
