I just picked up my vk56. Have some interesting ideas about what all I want to do with this engine set. I plan on taking it to a shop and boring it out and doing a stroker kit to lower the compression ratio then do a custom TT setup with dual intake manifolds. Of course this is all in a long time frame as I currently have my running rb20det in my s30 280z and have no intentions of removing that setup currently. I plant to take my time with this swap and do it right. I am currently trying to source a parts car that I can cut out the engine bay and mock the engine/trans mounts and exhaust and all the other little things that will be going into this swap. first up is to tear the engine down and begin to make a new lower oil pan. I will start my own thread though as to not clutter this one up. I will be PM'ing you about the AEM setup and the wiring that you did. Thanks and looking forward to more progress in your build.

Need to post pictures of my progress but currently I have the passenger side already fully mounted to my datsun 280z. I got all of the sc400 suspension. I didn't however take the sc400 cross member. I have mated the suspension with the stock datsun 280z cross member.

Didn't know where really. As the RB20 is pretty much stock other then the Holset hx35 turbo and custom intake, IC pipes and exhaust. When I begin to tear into it this summer I will post a RB20det into a stroker Twin turbo RB20 build thread...

Its not steel.... My goal is under 2500lbs. Which i should be. If i get around 2200-2300 ill be extremely happy. No ac/heat, all glass minus front windshield is lexan, no interior, etc you get the idea. My friend is in the process of making my door shells, hatch and hood in carbon fiber. He builds lemans prototype chassis and he assured me he can get all four items under 15lbs so there is a possibility of getting close to 2000lbs...

5 bolts for the output shaft. There are four bolts holding the cover on, two up top and one on either side.

That is what I thought at first. After I took the car over to Pat's to get wired up he confirmed that it is in fact a R230.

And it is a R230 diff.

I went away with the stock frame and all the internal metal and made all new frames and trans tunnel. I went from each inside of the front rocker and rear rockers and tied each side to each other.....I will let the pictures do the talking...

Well there is no way I can pick it up as I am on the east coast....if you want to ship it let me know. I have tons of parts to trade for as well if you want/need anything.

Really would like a nice clean, no rust if possible, vented s30 hood. PM if you have one. I have cash or we can work out a trade as I have tons of spare s30 parts.

It is the entire rear subframe from a R33 gts skyline...

I would love to trade for a set of nice wheels (5x114 PCD). Something around the 17x9.5 Front 17x10.5 Rear or same widths just in 18's and some lip. I have a full VH45 swap I could trade plus cash if the wheels are super nice.

Will those work in a RB20? Just a straight swap out?

Are you making a set for the s30 or just the s130?

If I didn't just start my RB25DET swap in my caged 280z I would be all over your 240z.
