I would just get the turbo re-balanced. There is a thread on here about that debate and from what I have gathered is to go ahead and pay for the balancing of the turbo to be on the safe side. Do it right the first and don't worry about weather it will be ok, just to say yourself the doubt.
That is what I would do. Most people who sand blast parts intend to either paint or powder coat the parts. If you are simply wanting to remove grease and other oils to return it to its factory state then just use a dilution of simple green and scrub them really well then come back and give them a nice hot bath to be sure to remove all of the simple green from the parts.
Correct. A bad headgasket will cause coolant to mix with the engine oil. Although if there is coolant in the oil then that could be coolant being burned in the turbo. So there is a chance that the turbo seals are still good. But for good measure I would replace the head gasket and rebuild the turbo.
Good luck. I hate wiring diagrams and they give me horrible headaches. I just simply trace the wire from the motor or relay, etc back to its origin and go from there.
Hey man. We meet at Caffeine and octane a few meets ago. Do you happen to know the paint code for that color by chance? If so just PM me please. Thanks
Well I need to take my Z to my friends shop and my Father's F250s turbo decided to take a dump so I have no way currently to transport my Z to my friends shop. I have a trailer that I can use. If anyone is in the Alpharetta/Milton area and can lend me a hand I would greatly appreciate it. I will of course compensate you gas and your time. If you can help me just send me a PM and we can go from there. Thanks in advance for anyone's help.
Unfortunately with the fact that there aren't many of these around anymore and more and more of them are getting crushed and wrecked some people understand the value of these cars and simply will not let them go for less then what they think is fair. It is a tough market and some of the older Z guys really know what they are worth and will not budge on their price.
I don't understand why you cant just sand blast the ITB setup. There aren't any cavities for the sand to get trapped in. Simply remove your IACV and blast away. Come back with a air compressor with a nozzle attachment and blast any stuck sand away.
They must be made out of gold... I am simply just going to a local pick and pull and try and find some Kia Sportage's and pull all the weather stripping from all of the Sportage's that are there.
Welcome to trying to own a Z club. Just relax and take your time and find exactly what you want. You will find a deal and be happy, just takes time and patience.
Step 1: move to Ga, no emissions on classic cars, step 2: Remove the L series engine, step 3: replace with whatever you want... I can not believe they are so strict on emissions and modifying a forty year old car.
