  1. Sounds like a pretty resounding magnecor or dsi. Any reason you guys all linked to rx-7 ebay auction?
  2. It's almost summer break so I've got some plans for the ol' 240 Here's where it's at now: I know it's a bit janky now but once I get back - Pull manifold, regrind & polish - pull intake piping, weld elbow onto turbo outlet and completely redo piping. But my question is: What are some aftermarket spark plug wires people use with their L engine? I want to get a set that stretch around the side of the head rather than over the cover.

  4. Done did work. Sadly it's going back into storage for the next six months since I am heading back to college this weekend. Planning on reworking my shaved manifold, getting it blasted, and then polishing it; Borg warner t-5; possibly NA camshaft; and maybe some DSI plug wires.
  5. Doing work now that it's winter break for me. What I did today, hopefully have it running again tomorrow.
  6. Thought I'd throw in an update from a couple months ago. 240z
  7. Just happened across this on the internet. Anything come of this setup?
  8. I'll throw in my turbo swap too. Still pretty messy. Please read> http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php/topic/98611-posting-pictures-please-read/
  9. tl;dr +3 for Delo 400. I run 15-40 in my rebuilt l28et. The guy who rebuilt my engine said I shouldn't use any synthetic for the first 10k so I thought I'd run diesel oil instead because it still has zddp in it.
  10. I've sold the parts car already, I'm just waiting for it to be picked up. I'll let you know if anything changes though.
  11. Slowly working the bugs out. I'll give an update. Here's me doing a donut in the dirt awhile back: Here's the rear strut brace I built: Finally welded up my intake: And some other photos:
  12. I keep finding more and more pictures on my laptop lol
  13. Yes I also have an intercooler. I actually only got this car running two weeks ago. So I havent played with the rrfpr. Alot of turbo engine mods were from the PO of my zxt, including the rrfpr. i'm mostly using my universal fpr, id run my stock one but it leaks so i tossed on my spare adjustable. My old exhaust: First start:
  14. I've been a huge lurker on these forums for the past year but I've decided I might as well post a little about me and my car. I just graduated from highschool a couple weeks ago so I've got alot of time on my hands right now... I have a 1970 240z, when I first started driving it and working on it, it had a L28, triples, headers, and exhaust. This was it sometime in november last year: Come january I finally convinced my dad to let me do an engine swap so I went out and bought my very first car, a 1981 280zx turbo wrecked non-op. Then this spring I did an engine swap in my Z. Balanced, rebuilt L28ET Jim Wolf Technology ECU 420cc injectors Cobra MAF & dropping resistors .50 Garrett turbo 70mm TB 5-speed R200 rear end Tokico Illumina struts and springs
  15. I had 14" mag alloys like the minilites before, but im a big fan of the modern look. Ergo i went with konigs.
  16. 17x7 konigs imagine custom made for the Z Ive heard that spartmaxs (XXR) isnt the best quality, I was looking at some of them for a while. sorry bout the pic, all i have are my senior pics lol
  17. Hey, thanks for the fast replies. Ive actually reversed the L and R calipers because both the parking brake cable and the brake line sit better that way and the cable doesnt rub on the halfshaft. I tried what ritrebor did and rotated the calipers a little while bleeding them and I think that took care of it, I'll find out when try them tomorrow. Thanks again, guys.
  18. My dad bought me a rear disc conversion for xmas with maxima calipers and I have installed the kit although the kit did not come with instructions. For some reason the calipers refuse to clamp down. I know they are bled fine because I have tried bleeding them multiple times and I have also tried switched the calipers. Supposedly these calipers are self-adjusting but I feel like they are not adjusting as they should. I am having trouble finding any information for troubleshooting so any suggestions are welcome. thanks ian
  19. Hi, Im fairly new to this forum. I am researching doing an L28ET swap on my 1970 240z. I was wondering if anyone had a complete engine (including the intake manifold, exhaust manifold, turbo, ecu, wiring, etc.), or where i can find one and for how much. I can fairly easily get a rebuilt l28et off ebay but considering that it's a swap from carburetors to fuel injection I would also need the manifolds and ecu equipment which I cannot seem to find anywhere. If anyone knows where I could skip getting the stock system and get custom manifolds, etc. would also be greatly appreciated. ian
