  1. sounds perfect, maybe i'll try to figure out how to fabricate my own engine mount because i dont like how high my engine sits, i have at least 4'' between the head and the firewall :(

i wanna use the stock hood instead of my 4.5'' cowl. and also i think it would be better for traction issues,

about the radiator, i'm leaning toward the griffin 24 x 19 one, we'll see in few days, i might order one from summit, what E Fan are u using?

    DSC00209.jpg

here you can see how close my WP pully is to the Efan

  2. thanks for all the info, i was thinkin about the griffin rad but wasn't sure if i can mount it without problems or not, about the thermostat, all fords dont have thermostat here in kuwait, the first thing we do is to remove them out for cooling issues,

my car runs hot when i'm crusing without stopping, didnt drive it hard since my clutch is brand new. so if she's running hot when i'm crusing i dont want to imagine how it will be if it sits without moving or when i'm flooring it.

  3. hi guys,

good news, i found used edelbrock performer heads 60cc/2.02/1.6, with 1.6 ford motor sport rockers for 600bucks, i'll go and check them tomorow, if they any good, i'm buyin them and gonna order the lunati 51012 cam Will told me about :) i think my Z will be a bit faster with new set of heads and a cam ;)

  4. thanks for the info about the factory frame rail, i needed this info, well i drove my car yesterday at night, temp was about 28C, and the car was running hot even though i didnt stop, would love to have a tube fron end too. BTW what engine mounts are you using? it's amazing how you have an EFI 5.0 and still can use the stock hood

  5. hi guys,

first, let me say how HOT it is here in kuwait now, it's around 45C and in a couple of weeks, it will hit the 55C range that's maybe 130F :(

my poor Z has a cooling problem since i'm still running my 302 Ford with the stock Z Radiator, i need your advices to get a good radiator that would help me cool my 500Z, i saw alot of radiators on jegs and summit's sites but not sure what size to go with!!

    thanks

P.S. did alot of searchin, but didnt find a good answer to my question

  6. hi guys, took photos of the new setup:

here you can see how the aluminum piece is excatly same as the factory's plastic one, it goes into the bellhousing with no problems.

this is the locking washer or the locking clip

the whole thing together, the rod's length is just perfect

been driving the car for 2 days and everything is ok :)

hope this will help you guys (specially Ford guys)

    thanks again

  7. HELL YEAH :icon52:, that's what i'm talking about, looking great bro, awesome job and i love how the engine sits low and close to the firewall, that's why i'm asking you about the engine mount, coz mine sits alot higher and far from the firewall, great great great job on the interior and on everything, you still have alot of space to fill in your engine bay ;) a supercharger maybe?? :)

come on, finish the beast and make a 500Z owner happy :-D

  8. ok guys, finally i'm done with the clutch thing, thank God, http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=113179

last page of this thread explains how we did install it, simply, we installed the SC in the same place where the stock cable sits by fabricating an aluminum piece that slips on the SC and goes into the bellhousing whole, so now the SC is next to the engine and pulls the fork toward the engine, i test drove the car and it drives good, can't floor it yet since the clutch is brand new, will let you know how it goes :)

    thanks everyone

  9. hi guys,

good news :) it works as good as i wanted, the clutch is alot stiffer than it used to be but still it's ok :)

bad news, didn't have time to take photos of the whole thing installed on the car, will take photos in a couple of days when i jack it up again.

thank you all for your help and ideas :)

  10. Thanks Everyone :-D, Yes we did win $ 1000.00 :2thumbs: but $ 200.00 for fuel round trip, $ 135.00 for a blown out trailer tire, $ 80.00 for a hotel room, and $ 500.00 for a drum of c-16 racing fuel and it's all gone :cry2:. But we did have a Fun, Safe, Race and didn't Brake anything :D

    Jon

congrats in english and Mabrook in arabic :)

you spent a lot of money but going home with great ETs and a win is just priceless IMO :)

  11. hi guys,

well after few weeks of not working on the car because of my job, a friend of mine and me came up with an idea, we will install the SC behind the tranny and next to the engine so the SC pulls the fork toward the engine wich is the thing i need, we canceled the fix rod from the SC and put a 13mm screw, then we fabricated a piece of aluminum that is identical to the plastic piece on the ford stock cable wich goes into the bellhousin, it slips on the SC and attaches to the SC by 3 5mm screws, we'll install it and place a holding clip from the other side excatly like the stock cable, i had to lengthen the rod so it arrives to the fork and have enough space to adjust the clutch:

here are some photos, hope it will help people later,

    DSC00359.jpg

here u see how i removed the fix rod and put the screw.

this is the aluminum piece were you can see the 5mm hole and the place to put the clip

    DSC00363.jpg

this is the fix rod i removed and im going to connect it to the other moving rod by a (2.5cm long/8mm thread) nut.

    this is the connecting nut

the new modified SC installed all together ( i know it looks like a freking weapon) :)

    DSC00366.jpg

a colser look to show the screw that holds the aluminum piece to the SC

i'll install it tomorow on the car, bleed it and let you know how it works + more photos on the car.

  12. looking good :) come on dude, spray it and drop the engine in, let us all be proud, cant wait to see it when it's all done, shiny with the engine in, BTW, i'm still interested in any chart of your engine mount, i would be thankful if you can make me one,

    keep up the awesome work

    thanks
