  1. Here is my little plan. In two weeks when I return from the Bahamas I am going to start my new 240Z V8 swap page. The theme of the page is going to be going fast on a budget. My goal is to build a 350 that will put out atleast 350HP (flywheel) for under a grand! This should mean that a 2700+/- should run in the mid to low 12s 2thumbs.gif . I plan on strapping the engine or car to the dyno to prove my point. I feel that there are a lot of engines out there just waiting for someone to come along and help them out and that is where I come in! I will post my web page once its up and running and has a little content!

  2. GBVOL54, its great to see that there is another Vol fan on the board! Dont worry about basketball, football is right around the corner! 2thumbs.gif2thumbs.gif I too now have a 73 240. Im taking it home to knoxville (currently live in Chattanooga) tomorrow after work. My father runs a shop behind the house and I will be needing his help to weld in floor pans. I also have some ideas on keeping engine cost down. I will let you know how it goes!

    Go Vols! rockon.gif

  3. Hey I was looking at your web site and really liked your Z! The site is great also, I am sure it will help me alot with my buildup. My question is about your miata seats. I will be welding floor pans in this weekend and my current seats are SHOT so badly I dont want to put them back. I really like what you did with the miata seats. I know that you used the Z brackets and I should be able to figure that out? My question is about bun height. I am really worried about raising the seat level. I am about 6'3" tall and would love to even go a little lower!

    Any help would be great!

  4. Well guys, I ended up buying it! I may end up being sorry but it was just too good to pass up. I ended up talking him down to $350. He had told me that the floor boards needed to be replaced. When I got there it was in pretty bad shape. The body seems to be straight but there is a lot of surface rust (I wish I could shoot the man who put a vinal top on it)! There is one little hit place on the rear quarter next to the tail light. He has the floorboards and kick plates and has already cut out the passenger side. From what I could tell the frame rails looked good. There was some surface rust but I didnt see anything going all the way through. It runs and I should be able to sell the engine and trans.

    Wish me luck!

  5. Okay, I am currently looking for a Z to chevrolize. Just so happens there is one in the local paper. 1973 240 "could be restored" $800. Sounds like it could be a basket case but I think it may be worth looking at. I am worried about rust confused2.gif especially since Im in the south. What specifically should I look for? I am sure there is some sort of buyers guide out there I just cant seem to find it.

    Thanks

  6. Hey guys, I have another question for ya. I am currently looking for a good platform car. I have read on here that people paid anywhere from $50 to $3000 for theirs. What can I expect to find? I live in TN so Im not really sure if a car from here will do the trick? Is there a webpage or an article that tells specifically what to look for in a used Z? Also, should I limit my search to a 240? I know the 260 and 280 are fatter.

    Thanks again

  7. Hey guys, I am currently looking for a z for transformation. One thing that I worry about is fitting in the car. frown.gif Im 6'3" tall! Does anyone else have any problems. I had a 83ZX with tee tops and I fit just fine. How much smaller is the Z than the ZX?

    Thanks for your help!
