  1. price on the wheels? those aren't the group buy wheels which were the staggered 17x9 and 17x9.5 are they?
  2. You'll never fit 10.5" let alone 11.5" wheels in the back without flares, the 15x8 205/60/15 I had didn't even clear with as much of a pull as I could get without it looking like a hack job. They were still almost a 1/2 inch too wide. I "suppose" with a better offset you could maybe fit 8.5" with a quality pull but at what cost? I'd rather flare the car to fit those wheels cleanly than make it look like a tire blew out inside the fender well and have it look like crap.
  3. Looks like a good start but I'm going to suggest spell check for any papers you write in collEge
  4. Well the other day I went to change out the pads on my front brakes last week and when I got the old pads out and went to put the new pads in I found that the inner piston on the drivers caliper was frozen. After trying for two hours to free up the piston I called around and found that O'Reilly had remans for $25.00 a piece and figuring it was far less aggravating than messing with the old unit I went ahead and ordered one for each side of the front suspension. O'Reilly called me the next morning to tell me the calipers were in and I swung by after work to pick them up. Once I got home I went to remove the old caliper and after a few days of spraying down the rusted bolts with penetrating oil, taking a torch to it in an attempt to loosen it, and even the "soak it in coke" suggestion that I'd been given from other forums/members I finally got the first bolt out and life was starting to turn around. I thought we had gotten both bolts out just fine after a few days of working with the bolts, then realize SNAP! the 2nd bolt had snapped in half inside the caliper bracket. I ran to the store and got an "easy out" kit to try to drill the bolt and get it out of the caliper bracket...that didn't work. I've called the Nissan Dealership and all of the local "box stores" and it appears no one can order the caliper bracket (or I'm asking for the wrong parts?) I guess I'm at a loss at this point as to what to do, I can't put the new calipers on until I get the bolt out of the bracket or buy a new bracket and replace the one with the bolt stuck in it. Any help would be greatly appreciated even if it's just a referral to a website where I might be able to buy the part I need. I've also decided since I'm at the point where I'm frustrated beyond description and things have hit a stand still, I'm considering upgrading to the Toyota 4 piston calipers while I'm at it. Correct me if I'm wrong but the caliper that I'm looking for is the S12+8 on a stock suspension 1976 Datsun 280Z with factory steelies. I found that O'Reilly has the Toyota 4 pistons for the exact same price as the factory Datsun calipers. Seems sort of like a waste to not upgrade since I need new calipers anyway and there's no additional cost other than the 280ZX brake master cylinder which again O'Reilly has for ~$30.00. Anywho I'm rambling now thanks everyone for any help. Kevin
  5. Way to go Austin I hope you keep us informed on how everything goes for you...although I'm a RLR diehard myself but that's not your fault
  6. Got a friend with similarly sized wheels? Wouldn't take long to take his wheels off and mount them on your Z31 just to see if they even clear the suspension/brakes.
  7. it's a lil pricey but there's a company out there called Scytek that makes an alarm for automobiles that takes a picture as the alarm is being set off soooo theoretically if you mounted the camera in the car facing forward there's a chance you could get a picture of the vehicle that hit your car and more than likely a license plate number as well. Off the top of my head I want to say the model number I'm thinking of is VisionGuard 8500 but I may be wrong. It's pricey but then again repairing your hood isn't getting any cheaper either.
  8. If they're true JDM OEM that's actually not a bad price, I know a guy who paid almost twice that for an OEM set from Okinawa, by the time he paid the price for the lenses, the shipping, insurance, tariff tax etc....he was a lil over $2,000.00
  9. I've scoured the forums and used the "search" button for more than one weekend on here and I still am unable to find the answer I'm looking for. I'm considering swapping an RB into a 1976 280Z 2-seater My question is do the RB20DET/RB25DET/RB26DETT share the same motor mounts? The reason I ask is I know McKinney sells a swap kit for it but they list it as being for the RB25/26 and not the RB20DET. Budget in mind my thought was I could swap in an RB20DET for the time being and as more time/money allowed I could eventually sell it and swap in an RB25DET the budget part being not having to refab the mounts in the engine bay. I wasn't sure how interchangeable the motors were I know they're all inline six-cylinder RB motors and I'd "assume" they were the same mount points but I want to be sure. Thanks in advance and I'm sorry if my Jedi Search Button skills have failed me and this has already been asked before.
