It's an 85 I thought he had told me when I talked to him about it. As for what's special about the L28, nothing really I've seen guys drop the RB20/25 into these a few times in the past. Not to start up the L-Series vs RB debate again though. It's "unique" but I think I personally would lean more towards an RB rather than put in an "underpowered" stock L28 vs the original VG30.

IMHO it looks more like unfinished primer than bedliner hence maybe why no one really commented on it.

I'd recommend against doing white on the dash especially a gloss white, it will reflect into the windshield and thus into your eyes, speaking from personal experience.

aren't the stock 280Z injectors in the 440cc range to begin with? Doesn't seem like an extra 4cc would make a huge difference in the power produced, the RB20DET and the L28ET are both capable of roughly the same #'s IIRC I haven't read up on them in quite awhile.

YES absolutely YES, those records can be brought to the court of law. They must however be subpoenaed/requested by a lawyer to be admissible in court. IF, he uses a service such as Microsoft's "My Phone" or something of that nature I know I had a program on my Blackberry but forget the name it was PIM Backup or something like that which backs up the texts/contacts/pictures etc...that also is admissible in court and does not require authorization through your cellular provider although it's usually a smart idea to request it through your lawyer to increase the credibility.

I've noticed since the ZR200 rear sump oil pan went NLA that most of the forums I've been on that used it have slowed down considerably as that has become the biggest hurdle for "low budget swaps" the RB25 prices have also plummeted here locally due to that very fact a few months ago they were going for $2,500+ and are now down below $1,400, because the "custom" oil pans add so much more to the total cost of the swap. Just a personal observation.

I just purchased a set of used Weber 40mm DCOE's and was wondering if there was anyone in or around the Cincinnati, OH area that could give them a once over and see what I'm up against as far as getting them installed and running. If you happen to know someone in the general area that rebuilds them or have any sort of pointers aside from sending them back to redline weber to get rebuilt that would be greatly appreciated. I'm ordering the How to Powertune Weber Carbs book as it's been recommended by a few people. I just would really like a "base tune" from someone knowledgeable with these before I get them all out of sorts. Thank You all and Happy Zedding!

I recently picked up a set of triple webers from a local Z owner who ended up going with an 83 turbo swap instead of the N/A route. I was curious if there was anyone near Cincinnati Ohio that could give these a once over or possibly point me in a local direction to have them rebuilt. Thanks in advance for any pointers.

What wheels are those, they look amazing.

I daily drive my s30 and LOVE my fender mirrors and as previously stated no blind spots. On top of that I can generally see both side mirrors, rear view mirror, and in front of me at the same time although it does take a bit of practice. I'm in the market for a 5 panel wink mirror as well but that's more for aesthetic purposes than functionality although I've read they do come in handy at times. I'd say go for it but make sure you get the proper LHD vs RHD template for them as they are not placed in the exact same spot on the fenders I know one is slightly ahead of the other I'd have to go measure my LHD s30 to correctly tell you which one is a bit forward of the other. I say go for it not only is it a matter of form it also is very much functional which not too many visual modifications can say these days.

HOLY CRAAP BRAAP! What size tires are those? I'm assuming BAMF flares and not the standard ZG flares.

Will Someone In OH Look At This Car For Me?
itsadatsun240z replied to Mayolives's topic in Non Tech Board
I agree 100% especially for the area it's in they just don't show up in that good of ORIGINAL shape anymore, sure restorations are on par but a restoration isn't original. I wouldn't be surprised if this goes in the $12-15,000 range especially with it being advertised on a few Z forums through people keeping an eye out for these rare gems. -
Will Someone In OH Look At This Car For Me?
itsadatsun240z replied to Mayolives's topic in Non Tech Board
Not so sure if posting this on here was such a good idea, lol. It went from $200.00 this morning to over $1,750 in under an hour and a half. -
Holy wide rear end lol

weber triple carb manifold on L20/24/26/28
itsadatsun240z replied to sileightygx's topic in Nissan L6 Forum
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I was under the impression the L18/L20 were 4 cylinder engines in which case NO the triple weber manifold will not fit. Unless I've gotten myself confused which is very possible as tired as I am at the moment. -
Hey everyone, I recently picked up a 1979 Datsun 280ZX I drove it onto the trailer no problem but when we went to take it off the steering/ignition lock was engaged and wouldn't allow us to turn the key even to the accessory location. We "violently" rocked the wheel back and forth to get the key to turn in the ignition drove it off the trailer and parked it...now once again it won't allow us to turn the key. Is there a way to "bypass" or possibly permanently disengage the lock mechanism? I've currently got the car parked at my work and just need to get it started or the steering unlocked so that I can back it up from the spot it's in at the far side of the front of the building to the closest spot to it on the side of the building but without being able to steer the car that becomes quite difficult.

ok I know not everyone is into the "drift scene" and that's fine I just thought this video was something out of the norm. http://www.thatvideosite.com/video/truck_drifting

Urethane engine mounts for L series
itsadatsun240z replied to subtle_driver's topic in Nissan L6 Forum
I have a hard time seeing a "stock" 140whp L-series breaking engine mounts. The big question would be not which mounts to use but what else is wrong that's causing the engine to "twist" that much under stock hp/tq? treat the problem not the symptom...obviously if you're doing rally style (offroad) racing I could see the mounts breaking but that's the only aspect of racing which you mentioned that I could see it happening. -
Silver or gold wheels?
itsadatsun240z replied to ROVdriver's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
I'll cross my fingers and say silver (secretly I'm doing this so I can buy the gold ones) -
The Pantera gets my vote also The 308 is Ferrari's version of Porsche 944 the "poor mans" car if you will. How can you say no to this? http://www.pim.net/9172007GT5.html

the two bolt patterns on "universal" rims aren't always the same two bolt paterns. Some are 4x108 and 4x114.3 some are 4x100 and 4x114.3 some are 4x100 and 4x108 and some are...well you get the point. This idea while unique could ultimately backfire on you...what if you decide to change wheels and the new wheels don't have the same 2nd bolt pattern? What if you find that ultra rare super wheel you've always wanted and it's only drilled for the proper 4x114.3? Also drilling a second set of studs into the hub creates 4 new failure points for the hub to potentially fail. Yes there's room for them but is there adequate distance between them? I'd think about this idea a little more before you pull the trigger on it. If the wheels already fit why mess with anything? I could understand tapping out the current studs, welding the holes, and redrilling for something like say a 4x100 bolt pattern and have that as the ONLY studs on the hub to run a wider variety of wheels but that's about the extent that I'd go to and I'd only do that to run some of the Axis Racer-X wheels in a -27 offset

are you trying to use a front or rear sump oil pan? IIRC it needs a rear sump pan.

280zx v8 mounts fabrication
itsadatsun240z replied to chris51608's topic in Gen I & II Chevy V8 Tech Board
http://jagsthatrun.com/Pages/Datsun_Z_V-8.html For one their website CLEARLY states that the conversion is for the 1970-1978 Datsun Z Car, not ONCE does it mention the S130 chassis specification or even mention a 280ZX. Your lack of attention to detail is NOT their responsibility they manufacture parts for V8 swaps into 1970-1978 Z Cars NOT 1979-1983 ZX cars. Therefore contacting them for the "blueprints" for ZX mounts which they don't produce is assinine. As far "you paid for the book you'd like the ZX blueprints ya know" maybe you should have asked questions first and paid better attention "ya know" Your best bet is going to be to post into the S130 subforum and ask if anyone may be able to let you know where they got their mounts pre-made from or found the blueprints to make their own. Sorry Admins if this sounds a bit harsh but he's asking for JTR to send him information that they themselves very well may not even have considering his swap isn't even the same chassis that the kit was designed for. -
I was over on copart.com and noticed this fire damaged Z for sale...if you look closely there's a HybridZ sticker in the hatch window just curious whose it was prior to the fire... http://www.copart.com/c2/onSaleResults.html?_eventId=getLot&execution=e2s2&lotId=18547219
