  1. Nice set of Polished Manifolds/Dome tops for SU's http://modesto.craigslist.org/pts/3315007805.html
  2. Tried to get ahold of 1NONLYZ, to no avail. Took car to a couple of body shops. One said they would need to cut out and replace the whole front section due to the body under right fender being bent. They were talking about sectioning part of another front clip(no way!). 12 hours@$70 and I provide front clip! The other one said they could save the section and I would need to get another radiatior core support to weld in. $800 complete, and just about what I thought it would need. So, i'm on the hunt for the following: Radiator core support Hood w/hinges and rods Right side fender+headlight scoop Right side turn signal assy(clear) or both sides amber to match. Bumper Grill Front valance(maybe not), only minor dents and hid from air dam(but if good one available might just pick one up) I have some leads on a few things in the bay area, but the radiator core support is hardest to find unless I find a whole front clip I suppose.
  3. Thanks! The wheels came with the car when I bought it. I believe they are 14x7's. They come up frequently for sale on forums and CG.
  4. Wow! Makes our collision look relatively minor. Good luck with your new search for a new Z if SF totals. This is my post: http://forums.hybrid...ched-front-end/
  5. Nice to know I'm not alone. Someone has already given me the contact info for 1NONLYZ. Here's the pics of the radiator core support, both sides....
  6. So, after removing the damaged parts, it looks like the radiator core support panel is slighly pushed in and needs to be replaced unless there is a way to cut in another good section because the hinges punched through it. The right fender is buckled, but I wonder if the mounting section can be repaired with a good one? The other parts are obviously 'toast'(See Carnage Pic). I'll have to bring it to a body shop to see what it's going to cost to pull out and straighten the right quarter area. I'll get a close pic of the radiator core support tonight.
  7. Thanks! I tried while out of town(on hotel comupter, but to no avail).
  8. Wow! What a story! Thanks this incident didn't happen to my son!! Hell, I'm in the OC right now, it is pretty crazy, but I love OC !!
  9. Thanks! I'm in Hermosa Beach today and tomorrow. How far is that from here??
  10. 18. Wish I had the forethought. At least we have an extra air dam!
  11. Sounds good! I'll be in touch. I do want the 78 hood with vents preferably if I can find one and not pay an arm and a leg. Had it on my own '72. What city are you in?
  12. Ohhh uggh! Well, only after 2 months of ownership, my son got into an accident on the way to school He's fine, just a bump on his nose and no one seriously injured. The only damage was to the front end of the Z. In fact, the truck he rear ended left after making sure my son was OK. The truck was so big and since the Z is so low, it must have just hit the lower part of the bumper and by the looks of the crushed hood, it had some sort of vertical bar on it. Lesson learned. But, what was a minor project has turned suddenly into a much bigger one, that's for sure. In the process of taking off damaged body panels, bumper, grill etc to really assess the damage. I was able to drive it home from the accident scene, so engine was basically untouched and wheels cleared enough to make the turns back home. It looks very fixable. Needless to say, we are in the market for some front end parts. My son is feverishly starting the rebuild process and searching for replacement parts on the C/G etc... Here's the shots I took after getting her back home and then one shot after her first wash the day we bought her Paul
  13. This worked for us as we got the CMC from AZ for $19.95. Saw that it was shorter, but like a dummy thought it would work. Took it right back off after finding this 2 year old post !! Up and running great!! Thanks!
  14. I just had local locksmith 'key alike' my doors and hatch to my ignition key for $44 including a spare key! Just had to remove them from car first and that was easy since I am working on interior(no panels). Took him about an 45min.
  15. Thanks! My deal actually fell through yesterday as the Rota's were not available for probably another month at VEX. Tried Racinglab and they are out too, they have a set but there's a deposit on them .
  16. Those are nice too, and they offer alot of choices when you go 17" nowadays. I just prefer a smaller wheel. Thanks for the input
  17. Thanks! Looks nice . I saw that VTO had some of the only wheels out there with 0 offset, both style's very classic, I just wish they had the Classic 8's in gun metal.
  18. Hi, Trying to get a set of street wheels/tires to replace slotted mags/sticky Kumhos that came on the car we bought for my son last last month. Long story short, I have scanned forums posts looking for just the right move before I drop coin on a set of wheels and tires. I was instructed by me cousin who instructs/races a 240Z up in the SAC area to run 15x7 '0' offset with 225/50/15 for the street or even 16x7 '0' with 205/50/16. Our 1st choice would be Panasports, but our budget is leaving us with Konig Rewinds or Rota RB's. My son prefers the Rota's so I found some 15x7 w/Falken ZE-912 at VEX Motorsports today for $866 cash OTD(4-5ml spacers/mtd/bal etc). btw - car is lowered, but not slammed. No coilovers. Thoughts? Should I stick with 0 offset? Falkens OK? Not as many choices in 225...
  19. I know this is an old thread, but I'm in the same boat, but also have to put all back in including console and heater control section. All interior was re-painted by PO. I have tan panels/dog legs and planning to just recover in nice fabric of choice. Only thing I don't have is a new headliner because the PO messed his new one up. I see the headliners are readily available. Just got her a few weeks back and in the process of making it "road worthy" for street use(Daily Driver) for my son. See pics here: https://picasaweb.google.com/106631344403711689097/Miles1973Datsun240Z Any help is greatly appreciated ! Paul
  20. Anyone know or where I can find the 4 bolts/bolt size for the wiper motor on our 73 240Z?? Thanks in advance!
