  1. Available in April 2004, they'll make around 50 of these a year.
  2. I agree and shudder to think of what a turbo upgrade would do for this beast!
  3. This is the ultimate road lord. Bugati Veyron...awd four-turbo V16 7 speed...987 horses and 922 torque in stock trim...0-185 in 14 seconds, 250 mph top speed. Awesome.
  4. Once again, thanks for the help. YOU GUYS HAVE REALLY BEEN HELPFUL IN GETTING MY Z RUNNING BETTER - MUCH APPRECIATED!!
  5. My 650dp likes to try and stall my car under hard braking, my carb shop said DP's do that - any cures aside from a different carb? Thanks
  6. Hello everyone, a few months ago I saw a post that showed the R180 and R200 side by side, I'm working with a novice parts yard and wanted to send them a pic of what an R200 is/is not to make sure they don't ship me an R180. Does anyone have pics of these handy, I looked for the post but wasn't able to find it again. Thanks,
  7. Sure the 3.0 is the way to go. Here's one in a spider:
  8. '81-'86 Alfa romeo GTV6 - 2.5 V6 transaxle(rear trans) w/ inboard rear brakes = 50/50 weight split. Lots of ways to trick 'em out and can be found for 1,000-5,000+ bucks. People confuse alfas with fiats and think they don't run well, my family's owned 15 between us all and we've had great luck with them. Here's a nice 1969 GTV:
  9. Hello and welcome to Hybrid Z. Probably everything you mention has been covered before on this site in the past, if you want quick answers a good way is to use the search function. Type in what you're looking for and pick the category (example: "T56" / drivetrain). You'll find tons of info this way. Good luck!
  10. HAHAHAHA!!! So much of a story is in how it's told, as others have mentioned about the quality of your post. Nice way to give him a false sense of being a close race, and then giving him a healthy dose of 'shock and awe,' hybrid Z style. I'll bet he had some of the 'ol "but the dealer said..." resentment pop into his head fo a second or two after you pulled away from him.
  11. The problem comes in when you've got to register your car and you're due for a smog check: No smog check = no registration = no new tags on your licence plate = reason to pull you over = ticket for driving w/o registration = gotta fix by court date = smog car and pay fines & reg or tell the judge a good reason to give you an extension.
  12. That video is absolutely HILLARIOUS!!!
  13. Thanks everyone for the figures.
  14. What is the approximate weight of an R200? Thanks!
  15. I called my old roommate and he said his cousin's mustang was a '66, not a '64 as I remembered it.
  16. As his car was a '64 there wasn't any smog involved, but his his headers had to go, as did his manifold and carb. Not much trouble I suppose...I'll call my old roomie tomorrow to double-check the year to make sure I got it right. It was a 1st generation 'stang and he did have to strip it.
  17. I guess it's partly because it's a pathfinder hand-me-down engine instead of a skyline, partly because it won't win many races against american competition or it's former self in TT mode. Sure it's a nice start, sorta like the first year the Z3's came out only with the 1.8L motor. But with what nissan's holding in the strait six department I'd love to see some obvious alternatives. 3 generations of Z's were offered with two engine packages, and yes, the V6 in the new Z is an improvement for a n/a version - but IMO they owe it to the Z folks to give 'em the option.
  18. I'm with you Mark, I just wanted to share what happened to my friend. A CHP biker pulls him over for speeding - not too excessive or anything either. "Nice mustang...sounds healthy" the cop said. The cop seemed to dig on the car and asked if he could see the engine. My friend said sure, thinking at this point he might get off 'cause this cop's a motorhead too. No such luck, as soon as he opened the hood the cop starts naming parts that weren't street legal that had to go! "This is a great car, really...but it's not built to be street-driven" the cop finished with, or something like that. Speeding ticket and a vehicle inspection bonus, ouch. They made him strip his car of course, what a headache. Meanwhile, I love driving my Z, and this is certainly a case of the wrong cop and bad luck. Just meaning to clarify the limits of protection a "smog exempt" car gives you in California.
  19. Man, let's hope so. The engine in the new Z is an embarassment, considering what nissan's got in it's arsenal.
  20. Yep, that't what I've got, and you can run 'em w/o regs, I do it just as a precaution.
  21. VRJoe speaks the truth, go halogen!!! I had to use fire extinguishers TWICE last year on my Z - once in an interior fire and one for an engine fire :malebitchslap: :malebitchslap: , both times I didn't have halogen, and what a HUGE MESS!! A halogen will solve your problems and get you back on the road a lot faster, without having to swab the decks.
  22. I'm liking that tilt job, reminds me of my old Gt6. Open it up, climb in and away you go!
  23. Yeah, I was probably one of the folks complaining about the shift lag with a manual - I've since changed my tune now that my T5 shifts properly, IMO you'll be happy with whichever YOU PREFER. Welcome aboard hybrid Z, this site will save you alot of time!
  24. Careful travelling with the driveshaft - it sorta looks like a stinger and could be mistaken as such. An inch sounds about right but lets see what some other members think...
