  1. well, what I ended up doing was soldering a wire where the stock wire connects to the little flexible brass thing that touches the back of the wheel mount, and just connecting that wire to one of the prongs on the relay, kinda bypassing the wiring harness. It isnt the best way to do it, but it works.

  2. I need to get my horn working very quickly so i can get the car inspected and keep it on the road. Here's the deal. When I bought the car it didnt have the actual horn, so I replaced it and it worked fine. After a while something happened and my horn no longer works. It isnt the relay as I have bought two, the fuse is fine, and I took out the horn button and rubbed the wire on a ground and nothing happened so it isnt the button. Also the little connector on the back of the steering wheel mount seems to have good contact so i dont think that is the problem. However if I use a screwdriver to connect the three ( or maybe just outer two) prongs on the relay, the horn sounds. At this point, I dont really know what could be the problem. If someone out there knows what it could be please let me know. If not could someone direct me as to how I would go about making a completely new and independent circuit for the horn that would work at least temporarily. thanks alot.

  3. I just mounted my seats and they are truly awesome. I have the rear sitting directly on the rail mount and the front has two spacers, as I am fairly tall, and like to have a bit of rear decline in the seat to hold me in. They are very comfy, and they hold me in quite well. Also the cloth material looks great, and the backs of them are leather. I am very happy with these seats and now I must get harnesses to compliment them. Pics will come as soon as I get my camera back from my friend.

  4. Yea, I am amazed that you could put up with the kid for so long. I, too, am young, 16, but I have a great deal of respect for my elders, especially those who have more experience than I do with cars. Plus, a little help is great, but I would like to be able to say that I did ALL the work on my car, not that I had someone else do it. I say sell the stuff and make a profit, those honda boys will give good coin for their parts.

  5. I have an archos jukebox which was relatively cheap, and has all the capabilities of an ipod for less. It has a 15gb harddrive and is great, despite being a little bulky. I had it before I got my car, and once I got it and discovered that the head unit didnt work, I hooked up the mp3 player directly to the amp, and I have thousands of songs right at my fingertips. And when I get out of the car, the player comes with me, and i can listen on my headphones untill i get inside, when I plug the player into my stereo. I love it

  6. I am about to cut out my floors and frame rails and replace the already poorly fixed work. I am going to have to cut a very significant amount of metal out, and since I don't have a rotisserie, I am worried about the chassis distorting when I remove the rails. Should I add bracing to the chassis in any way before I cut out the frames, and also, is there any way I should support the car i.e. on the wheels or on jackstands in specific places or whatever. Thanks for your help.

  7. My hatch is disintegrating before my eyes, the whole thing is rusted to the point that when i went to touched a rust bubble, my finger went through the sheetmetal. If anyone has a spare hatch that they are willing to sell to me , I would greatly appreciate it, As I need one ASAP Thanks

P.S. I would have put this in the buy/sell/trade forum but it dissapeared and Im not a vendor :-D

  8. I know ive seen some people here mention sitting in them or seeing them on ebay and saying that they were going to buy them, but I havent seen anyone who has actually had them installed in their car. I am thinking of buying them, but I am not sure if they will fit. According to the manufacturer, they are 21'' wide, i am not sure if that is at the base or at the top of the cusion, which would be the widest point. If it is at the cushion then they should fit, but if it is at the base then things would be very tight. Please let me know if you think these will or wont fit. Thanks

  9. 5.0l_z,

If that is the case, then I would very much like one of your cages. I plan to replace my floors and frame rails in the next few weeks and would like to do the cage at the same time. Now, I know you are still in the early phases of this project so I understand if you can't make one quickly or at all; but if at all possible, do you think you could bend me a main hoop like that one with some measurements for the rest of the cage, because i dont have access to a mandrel bender. It would save me alot of time, and I would be very appreciative.

    Thanks,

    Will.

  10. I am very interested in your cage, just one question, how much does the diagonal bar restrict the recline of the passenger seat. I have some fairly tall friends, around 6'5'' do you think that they will be comfortable in the passenger seat. Thanks

  11. well, i found the problem. I bled the clutch, and while i was under there, I discovered that the bolt that goes through the clutch fork, the one that comes from the slave cylinder, looked like it had backed off quite a bit. I think somehow oil or some other lubricant got on it and it worked its way loose. I turned it out quite a bit, and now all is well and my transmission shifts like a champ. Thanks guys.

  12. while I've got this topic going, i have a question for you guys. I originally sought to replace the shifter bushing because i thought it was what was causing my hard shifting, but after putting in my quick fix, it seems that it may not be the problem. What do you think would cause a lot of effort getting into gear, especially 1st. The problem seems to come and go, and is mainly from a standstill. I originally thought it was my clutch adjustment, but im not sure, because at this point it isnt even very tight and it is still hard to shift. Now, i think my shifter bushing solution might not be the best, because it didnt seem to help. It could be my synchro's, but a fair amount of effort is required to get it into any gear, not just first, and i dont suppose all of them wore out so quickly, and also this is a fairly recent problem, as I havent driven the car more than 200miles and I dont remember this being a problem except for the past week or so. I thought my tranny fluid might be a little low, but I dont have the proper fluid at the moment, but I will add some soon. Do you guys have any other suggestions, thanks.
