  1. Some kind of zed bug... I now have 5 z's 1 74' 260z 1 76' 280z 3 81' 280zx turbo's(4 turbo 280zx engines! 3 81's and 1 83') I have the 83' turbo engine in the 260z(the main/original project car) I bought the 83' turbo engine, but i was missing some parts so i managed to pull in a sell one sell all group buy of 3 81' 280zx's all wrecked and rusty, but at least their ALL TURBO, yes ALL 3 are turbo! So what should i use? I put the R200 from the 76' 280z in the 260z almost a year ago when i started this whole zed thing. Is there anything good I should get out of the 81' 280zx turbo's worth while to put in the original project car, the 260z? I was thinking ,cv shafts, differential maybe?, 5 lug hub swap?,... give me some ideas guys... dont want these to go to waste. On the off hand If any of you need any wiring or anything hard to find off these cars I could probably get it to you.
  2. A t3 turbo bolts directly up to the stock zxt manifold. I would recommend searching "parts for sale" for a "stock 280zx turbocharger". Those are t3 units...
  3. Yea, the chopped roof would look right if done right. But to me it seems more trouble than its worth, and by the time youve put that much time and money into fabricating something like that... why not by a DB7.
  4. Theres nothing a lil' bondo cant fix.
  5. I was thinking about doing something along those lines... fattening up the rear alittle. I'm not sure at this point what I'm gonna do... I'll just play it by ear I guess. Maybe if this topic stays around another month ill show my rear.
  6. Best luck to you and I hope you stay free of AIDS.
  7. Very good work... I love that hood emblem, i've been contemplating buying it. Hopefully I will join the painted zed club here soon.
  8. Thats when you just bolt up a 4" tip on the back and say its all good.
  9. Alot of work and money, but think about it, is it really worth all that? Is it going to make it go faster? Will it really look better? Is it that much of a change? I'm far from a stocker but I think it would be too much work, not as stable, and cost alot of money and time, and in the end it wouldnt be worth as much. If I were going to try to modify the roof for aero, I would lower it, but then again, that would equal less cabin space and I'm a tall guy. If you use the right/make the right body kit, you can achieve a more modern look with less extensive modifications. Removing the drip rails smooth off the roof for a more modern look. Painting the trim black or blending it with the body and painting it the same color as the car can achieve a more modern look. In the end, You dont really have to extensively cut the old z up to achieve a modern look, this car was before its time. Both stock roof's look to be the same height, so again I dont think it would be worth it. Heres a lowered z roof... imo it doesnt look much better, and its probably now a bare to get in and out of.
  10. I'm not sure, just stumbled across those pics on the web
  11. Never seen anything like this... Is this guy a member here? Alot of good bodywork.
  12. I like the rims... I wanted to buy similar ones for $3,000 but dont have enough $$$.
  13. That will allow a perfect mount for a l28et/t5 combo on a s30?
  14. Wow. This zx has got style... and i like it. Very nice man, different, but nice.
  15. Uhh dude theres a differance in having a body kit and being rice. But there are some people that like stock looking cars...
  16. Hows the air conditioning on the 280zx? Looks like it needs to be recharged rofl...
  17. Borg Warner T5 trans rear crossmember mount?
  18. I do the same stuff man, I Just kept the 260 dash i got because the other dashes I was looking at "didnt have enough guages". Most dashes just have a speedo, tach, fuel level, and volts. They dont have the three slots in the center that can be interchangeable. Ultrabright 12v white led's in place of the stock poorly lit 2.8v bulbs would bring the stock guages out. I'm just not educated enough to try an led light dashboard conversion. I've talked to the guy on this forum who does led taillights and he said his dash is led. I asked him if he could make a kit but he claims to be too busy at the moment. I think if the dash lights were properly done in led and the dash is covered it would look modern. Most modern cars are going back to the s30 style dash if you look around with the circular seperated guages. Look at Honda Fit's guages, 350z guages, etc... Daeron- Those guages look like they were pulled straight out of a 747.....
  19. I came to the conclusion... All the stock guages need is some major updating... I think if led's were installed instead of bulbs makeing the guages light up brighter. One thing I wish is that maybe the stock tach should have a small led shift light. Anyways I thought you had a 240zx dash or was going to use a bmw dash?
  20. Now thats some guages... tacked up on the dash with a couple of nails rofl.

  22. The problem I'm having in finding guages is, Yes I want multiple guages in one... But what about turn signals, hazard flashers, "brights"? Just go on instinct I guess? It seems impossible to find a guages to do everything needed...
  23. http://www.turbomagazine.com/features/0803_turp_1970_datsun_240z/index.html Im subscribed to.. Import Tuner Modified Magazine Road and Track Car and Driver Out of the first 2 "tuner" issues I would say modified has more content but often import tuner has more interesting articles. Some import tuner issues can be really thin though. Road and track and car and driver are just to get me updated with the newest cars... *edit* I've also read alot of Super Street issues, they seem pretty decent. If I can remember correctly they throw in a variety of different cars, which is cool. But you know most of these "tuner" magazines showcase either a high horsepower G35, Supra, 240sx, Rx7, Civic, or 350z
