  1. I am almost done with my zx conversion and the running total is $3500 so far. I thought I would do it with like an extra $1000 after selling the car I got the LT1 from and the old turbo z engine. Check my website for the price list so far. The list is only large parts and that was $3500. Does not include driveshaft, exhaust hook-up, clamps, hoses, spray paint, custom adaptors for power steering, and alot of little things that sure do add up to alot above $3500 so far. I have not reinforced (roll bar, strut tower bar, etc.) a damn thing yet, or painted the car either.
  2. I am currently using the JTR Sanderson ceramic coated headers on my 83 LT1 ZX. As far as I know these are custom and not off the shelf as both driver side and passenger are different. They worked fine for me. I modified (bent) the power rack pressure and return lines for better clearance, then exhaust shop angled off the exhaust from the collector.
  3. How much ground clearance are you getting with that set-up? I need to redo mine when I get it back from the tranny shop.
  4. Heck yeah I will be interested, just let me know!
  5. The bolt patterns are the same for both the Z and ZX, with a 4 bolt pattern. Yes the bolt pattern is. What about thickness of spacer? Why does modern motorsports sell two different spacers? I am all for supporting our fellow z merchants..... BUT $240 + shipping for adaptors for a zx.... come on!!!! That's over or half the price of the rims. Sorry but I would take my chances with another vendor first. Also the rims that I want to use are not honda offset and I am pretty sure are something else - so his adaptor will not work. What is the stock zx tire offset?
  6. Does he already know the spec #'s for z and zx? I know they are different.... right? Modern motorsports sells both and the zx are more $$$. What would I need to tell this guy in terms of spec #'s to make them for a zx?
  7. Check this out http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=6755&item=4540090778&rd=1 On the auction it says they are custom made to your specs - any size and bolt pattern and will make them 1" to 4" wide. Will that work for z and zx cars? I don't know the exact offset stuff for the z or zx. If the specs are within what they will make, these are almost $100 cheaper than that of modern motorsports.
  8. Hell yeah! I vote for a little less study time....
  9. I heard him say on lovelines that he drives a new 350z.
  10. Just a quick follow-up. I decided to go with cables from akm http://www.akmcables.com They now carry ALDL cables that go to usb:2thumbs: for no additional charge.- also still carry the ones that go to the older comm port.
  11. $90 from www.akmcables.com - they now carry cables to usb and not just to comm!!

    4L60E problems

Well my mechanic that rebuilt the tranny just called me. He says he will have it done on Monday. He said that the transmission is not receiving a signal from the computer so it is not engaging all the way. He said he is just figuring out the wiring because he has no schematic for it - it is a painless wiring harness. He did say that EVERYONE there is just in love with the car. He said that he is really interested in what it is going to drive like and that we should race. He owns a (heavily modified) viper, hummer h2, some crazy fast bike that beat his viper that he bought off the guy after he beat the viper. I just advised him that it should be fun. I JUST WANT HIM TO GET IT DONE SO THAT I CAN DRIVE THE CAR FOR THE FIRST TIME! Anyone want to take a stab at what is wrong? It is a painless harness with vats bypass. Every wire is hooked up except wires for smog.
  15. I am looking to buy a ALDL connector for my 94 LT1 4L60E. There are several places selling cables. They all run about $90 for the new ones that go to usb and not just com port and have housings for the 12 pin and 16 pin - my laptop is too new and doesn't have com port . There are cheaper "kits" that you have to put together . One vender wrote that the 12 and 16 pin "connector housing" was pricey and affected the price. Well I found this one on ebay for pretty cheap possibly because it does not have one of the "housings" on it. Seems to me like it shouldn't matter and it looks like it would work for me if I bought a usb to com converter. $45.00 including shipping. What you guys think? Wonder what cable Tim is using. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7946079266

    4L60E problems

This is the connector I have. According to my manual, I cannot jumper this one... it has to be the 12 pin.
