  1. Ross, thanks...I do have your instruction somewhere in a folder, but I'm the process of moving and my car is in my parents garage. My brother and I were talking about my car and we started working on the fronts. We cut the OEM perch on the front and we weren't certain where to weld that collar. Thanks for jumping in, Ross. I appreciate the help. Thanks, Chris
  2. Thanks Steve for the info...I was wondering about the difference between the 280ZX and the 240/260/280. Slownrusty, nice coil-over set-up. Man, your ZX is slammed. Is it like that all the time? Still looks great. I hope to get mine rolling sometime soon. Thanks for the advice and pictures. Thanks, Chris
  3. Thanks, I have Tokico Illuminas all around for the 280ZX. Are the 240 shorter? That's something I didn't know. No, I don't want to section the strut out. But I'm with you, cuz I was thinking about it more and I should be fine with leaving the sleeve flush with the tube. Thanks again. Chris
  4. Hi there guys, I just wanted to know if anyone else out there has put some on their 280ZX. I just wanted to see some pics of coil-overs on your cars. Even if it's not a ZX. My problem is where I should place my threaded tube. I got my coil-overs from Ross at modern-motorsports. I have a 8" threaded tube with 10" (200lbs front and 225lbs rear). I do have the metal support collar, just need to know where to weld it. I did take the OEM perches off, placed the treaded tube at that welded bead where the perch sat and it looks too tall. I'm thinking I should lower it. Grind the welded bead and slide that steel collar past where the OEM perch used to sit. Is that a good idea? Thanks for the help. Chris
  5. That is just freakin' awesome...the music was perfect. Thanks! Chris
  6. That was insane...it's a keeper in my computer. Thanks! Chris
  7. Mikelly, That was mine T/C rod I gave you. Hey at least you tried, right. I got to give you credit for that. Chris
  8. Afshin, I just saw your pictures of your rod, yup, mine snapped in the same place. Chris
  9. Afshin, I have too broken a T/C rod. But I didn't know it broke until I hit the brake. I heard something that sounded like a rock hit the underneath of my car, but I didn't think anything of it. Just prior to that I hit this pot hole, not too large, but large enough to jolt the car. I have 205/50ZR15, so you can feel ever thing on the road. I was cruising at about 80 mph and I'm coming up on the exit ramp I need to get onto. So, I let of the gas and at about 40 mph I hit the brake, my right wheel got shoved into the back end of my wheel well, sending me turning in that direction off the road. The car was okay, I was freaking out. I was forcing the wheel in the other direction the whole time of the slide. It was the T/C rod that snapped. Now I have that performance rod kit with the ball/socket...hasn't broken since. I'd just thought I'd add my story...still have yet to read every one else's insight. Good luck...not a fun experience. Chris
  10. What in the world...can someone translate this?? I have a headache just reading it. But yes...it was funny. I needed a good laugh. But don't be too hard on this guy. I'm guessing he's Japanese. Chris
  11. The covering is what I have on the car now...it's pretty nice, but not the best. Pep Boys has that sort of thing. Not hard to do, but time consuming. Good luck, Chris
  12. Holy crap I think I messed myself. Very sweet wheels. Musta cost a pretty penny but well worth it. Looking good man. Chris
  13. Cool video...yeah the music was awesome.
  14. Very nice...can't wait to see it painted...keep us posted! Chris

    Ahem.

Is all I have to say.
  16. Man...I finally got power back. A tree just missed my garage and another hit my neighbor's car. This was very weird for me. I came from a place where there was powerful typhoons and afterwards the place stood up...we have a Cat 1 in Hampton Roads, VA and it destroys the place. I can only come up with this, the ground musta been soft from the rain a couple of days before hand. As for the shingles flying off, well...high winds will do that. Hey Doug...I'm glad to hear things went okay. I was kinda scared a few hours there. I had the Z in the garage, but I knew the tree was next to it. There was nothing I could do but pray to the Z Gods. It worked, but I didn't mean for the neighbors car to get smashed. Clean up was a pain, man. You can hear nothing but chainsaw the next day. Langley AFB got a beat down. Poqouson...man...I don't want to go there. How's Tidewater Z...are they okay? Glad to hear those who went through the storm made it. Take care and be safe...there's still much clean-up to be done. Chris
  17. Hey Doug...I think I'm good. But thank so much for the offer. I heard the area that I live in is not prone to flooding, but we'll see. I live off Todds Lane near Bethel Temple...five mintues from Hampton Mall. Let's hope it's not too bad. They cleared or are going to clear Langley AFB where I work. I had no idea it was that low of a level. I knew it was low, but damn...11 feet! They told me to get my work bays sand bagged...done. Now we wait. Chris
  18. Yeah, it's a Cat 2 now. Compared to what I've been through...it doesn't seems all that bad. But it's still out and never made land fall...so anything can happen.
  19. Hey Doug...I'm with you man...yeah a couple feet in the air is right ...I got my ride up in the air...as high as I can go on jackstands. I've been through many typhoons in Okinawa, Japan...this is a baby, but it's the flood waters we have to watch out. Good luck. Chris
  20. Ouch that's cold. It was funny and I have two cats myself...I try to keep them inside, too. Don't want them to end up free cats. Chris
  21. It was a big picture...I was like okay...so there's a snake on the engine. And then I scrolled down...thanks, man...I just ate too. How inthe world did that happen! He has a lot of cleaning to do. Chris
  22. Ha ha that's funny...left...left ah another left....
