  1. I'll try to take some pics this weekend. Been busy prepping the mounting areas and measuring like crazy. The one thing I didn't really measure yet was the track width, but with them side by side, it looks like the s13 is maybe 1.5~2 in wider in total length. Good thing I sold my wheels, don't think they would have fit without flares.
  2. Wow, looks great. I wish my car looked that clean underneath. My car had so many oil leaks from previous years that I thought I had black undercoating! Always fun when removing the sub frame.
  3. Picked up an s13 rear multi link setup for 40 bux. Couldn't resist a rough mock up. I'm gonna try to do it without modding the car, just the subframe. Front mounts are a bit off but gonna try to make a few brackets. The rear mounts line up with the cross beam so it'll be easy to fab something up there. If I can't get it to work then no real loss. I'll mod the s130 crossmember for adjustablity and make due. Crappy pics, I was losing light. Can take some tomorrow.
  4. My Q45 front rotors are only 280mm in diameter, so some of these rear rotors would actually be bigger. Not sure if that would throw off the brake balance.
  5. You're right, I meant the 84-86. All the 87 up had vented. The only rotor that was close was the 84-86 na, which was 4 lug. Everything else is too big, vented or solid. Zbums website shows all the rotor specs, pretty useful.
  6. The na rotors are the same diameter, just solid. I checked into that as well.
  7. Yea, I ditched the vented rotors and calipers from the 87 Z31. The caliper mounts on the s130 are a bit shorter than the z31. So while everything "bolts" up, the caliper hits on the rotor. I tried removing some material from the inside of the caliper like Frank did, but I ended up going into the caliper pin. It wouldn't take too much to make it work, just a spacer of some sort to push the caliper out. I don't feel like messing around with that right now so I made the solid rotors work. Come summertime though, I'll probably end up scrapping the whole rear suspension anyways...
  8. Might not fix the problem, but do a search on replacing the efi plugs from another car. I think Volvos had good ones, can't remember. That helped me with a few issues when I first got the car.
  9. This ones always been a favorite of mine. Dave Greimanns V8 Z. Had his page bookmarked for years. Never seen a 2+2 look so clean. Heres his website
  10. I'm using 87 Z31 stub axles out back and was hoping to use the rotors and calipers as well. Unfortunately the caliper ears on the 280zx control arms are a bit shorter so the caliper won't fit over the rotor. Searched high and low and found that a 92 Nissan Maxima rear rotor has close to the same dimensions as the s130, only with 5 lugs. Now I can keep my stock calipers and all is well. ^ Have to use a small spacer in between the mount and the caliper to center it over the rotor. The z31 stub axle pushes the hub out slightly.
  11. What condition is your coil in? Ignitor, wireset? You should do an ohm check on your wires even if they look to be in good condition.
  12. You need to swap over the control arms for it to work. The 79-81 calipers won't bolt up to the 82-83 control arms. Since you have a whole parts car this should be easy for you. Might as well swap over the axles from the parts car while you're at it. Also, not a bad time to change the rear bearings too. I did the same thing a few years back on my 81.
  13. Depending on the clearance, maybe you could "massage" it to fit.
  14. Gotcha, mine goes over the subframe then dips under the axle. 3in piping didn't have much room going over the axle.
  15. What year is your car? Mine runs right along side the driveshaft and exits the driver side. Or are you talking about the axles?
  16. Yea, as far as I know, 79-83 front bumpers are interchangeable.

  17. hey, do u no if a 81,2 or 3 front bumper will fit my 79.

  18. Dynomax Bullet mufflers sound great on a turbo. Throw on a tip or keep it tucked in for a cleaner look. I'm not into the flashy exhaust tips anymore. This should work for a cat. Just keep it all 3in.
  19. The head of the stud seats perfectly flush, I can take a pic tomorrow. The spline counts are different, but from what I read here it should be fine as long as the knurl diam. is the same. Its been years since I've replaced the stock ones, but it is a little tighter with these. Better than being a little loose.
  20. I know this is plenty discussed in the archives, but I figured I'd throw in some pics as well. Needed new rear studs anyways, decided to get some that were longer. Used the Camaro ones, 87-02 I believe, part number 610-323 available at my local Kragens/O'Rielys. Anyways, pretty straight forward install, i'm happy. ^ 54mm vs the stock 41.5mm
  21. Yea, the insides not too bad. Been too long, but I can't remember how close they were to my Tokicos. Mind you I never drove it like that though, because I had just got the coilovers in. Wish I took some pics. But yea, 10.5 might be too wide for stock. 9 would be a good size. Maybe someone else has done it on stock suspension.
  22. The pic shows the wheel more tucked than they were on the ground. I had about an inch of clearance between the fender and tire. No 500hp here, so I think it'll be fine. The main thing I had to worry about with a 10.5 in wheel was getting real close to the control arm. Probably had a .25" clearance.
  23. 17x10.5 20mm offset i believe. Fitment is close, almost too close
  24. Heres some pics of my s13-s130 progress 87 300zx rear brakes
