I have a stock 72 240z. My dampener pots are dry and I plan to fill them soon but I was wondering what the symtoms are when they are dry. Reason why I ask is because my car is running extreamly rich. It's so bad I'm lucky to get 16mpg. (The pots have been dry since I bought the car) Any help is apreciated. Thanks

funny thing is is that the clips are on and go on without any problem. also ive read that the caps have a raised marking for the plug for cyl #1 which mine does have and is pointing to the front of the car. only thing is is that currently the wire for cyl #1 is on the next seat counter clockwise. im guessing that someone previously put the distributor in wrong (i just bought the car 3 weeks ago). arg i cant wait to save up enough for a swap =/ thanks for the help

ive got an interesting situation that relates to this. my plug wires are in the right order but are shifted one spot on the cap counter clockwise. the car runs this way but its running like crap with a hesitation, back fire when applying throttle just after start up and to top it off im pretty sure its running rich. i tried changing the wires to the correct possitions (back clockwise one spot) but the motor wouldnt fire. now i know its the timing (duh) but what i dont know is why it runs the way it does and how to fix it. any help is greatly appreciated!

i need to change most of my weatherstripping before winter so i was shopping around and was looking at the black dragon and the Z store kits. my question is, the Z store says that you need rivets for the door to finder seal and the lower door seals while black dragon doesnt mention rivets at all. do need rivets or not? oh and let me know if you know of any cheaper kits =P thanks

i love the stuff. ive used it in an 88 rx7 threw the vac line and it ran better than before (had some issues when i got it =P) ive also ran it threw the gas of a 96 GMC Sierra, a 89 Camry, and i just put it in my 72 Z. so far no problems and better gas millage for the sierra and camry. sea foam rocks!

yeah i was thinking the same thing the only other info i have is that it has a triple mikuni carbs. ill keep searching and see what i can turn up. thanks

I'm looking to by an s30 and i have one in mind but.....its got a problem and i dont want to buy a car i cant drive home =P. the guy says, "Might need a new fuel pump, not 100% sure if thats the problem, because it just had the problem a week ago. The problem is that when i drive it for a while, like 30-40 minutes the car doesnt want to accelerate when i gas it and sometimes it stalls. But when start off when cold, it start right off and drive good until that 30-40 minutes of driving." the car is a 74 260z with an l28. so what do you guys think it is? i couldnt find any similar threads. the closest ive been to an s30 is previously owning a z31...so in other words im not to familiar with them. i appreciate any help i can get!
