  1. I've been using Delta Camshaft for years and I love these guys and they are only a 30 minute drive from my house! I have had five different cams ground there and @ $50. for a cam grind plus $3. per cam follower surfacing, It's a bargain!! But I honestly have to say that while trying to degree my cam with my new supercharge rebuild, I end up with different readings at the valve lift than my cam is supposed to be. Maybe my error, or maybe the rocker ratio like you guys are suggesting. If a Chevy rocker ratio is something like 1.4, and a L-motor is 1.5, then that is a substantial amount. I am going to talk to Mike at Delta and see what's goin on
  2. It's cobbed together. The serp pully is from a newer ford water pump or smog pump or something, but it fit perfect over the front V pully. I would love to see how you mounted that supercharger direct to the manifold!
  3. The M-62 is perfect for your engine if you are not going above about 12 psi boost. After that, pully sizes would be difficult and you should go with the M-90. As for the ECU, I ran the stock non turbo one with stock injectors for a long time with the aid of an adjustable FMU to raise the fuel pressure to about 90 psi under boost!
  4. Finally got my engine back from my machinist, and I have alot of info and documentation if anyone is interested. If not, then I will end the thread here. I also want to extend an apollogy to 1FASTZ for an improper response to a response during the most aggrevating period of the L-28 rebuild...
  5. Dude, I would use stock compression up to about 9.3 @ 8 To 9 lb's boost as long as you can control your timing!!!!!!!
  6. Sidwell, that is a pretty damn cool car you got there!
  7. Oh really, I do recall doing an intensive search about these rods weeks before I even ordered them! HEY EVERYONE, DO NOT ASK ANY MORE QUESTIONS ON THIS SITE BECAUSE ANY QUESTION YOU MAY HAVE ABOUT EVERYTHING, HAS ALREADY BEEN ANSWERED! AND IF YOU JUST SEARCH, THEN YOU MAY GET REALLY LUCKY AND ACTUALLY HIT ON THE QUESTION THAT YOU HAVE AND YOU DON'T END UP LOOKING LIKE A DUM-BASS BY ANNOYING PEOPLE ABOUT YOUR SILLY REDUNDANT QUESTIONS!
  8. Well, everything is good. C.A.T.pep refunded my money with an appology. They were in fact made wrong. I shure would have liked to use them...
  9. The bores and the length are correct but for now it seems they dont believe me that the big end width is wrong. It's a shame because they really are beautiful rods and I weighed them, they are balanced to .7 of a gram and about 590 grams per rod. They also have a return policy with a restocking fee but the way I see it, is they are totally useless for any L-series motor and therefor defective. There shouldn't be any "restocking", they should send the entire shipment back to the factory and get it right!!
  10. This is true and I agree, I am trying to figure out a better way to mount the trigger wheel this time around. I may be able to have one hollow ground to clear the rubber dampener ring and the timing cover. I have checked my timing regularly for slippage and it has not happened. There are also people in the megasquirt forum that mounted the same way with no probs yet but still, this is not the best way..
  11. I took the chance and bought the H-beam rods off Ebay. They are really nice rods with one very important flaw, the width of these rods is only 21mm, our stock rods are 26mm! that leaves an end play of 5mm on the journal!! The seller tells me thats impossible because they are manufactured to exact OEM specs. I tell you they are wrong! there is no way to even fit a stock rod bearing into these. Someone was given the wrong numbers at the factory!!!!! Look up catpep.com for the manufacturer.
  12. Pic of the pully and trigger wheel, and pic of the bracket taking full advantage of the A/C bracket from a ZX
  13. Just wondering if anyone has used these rods in thier builds. I just bought a set of H beam rods advertised to work with the L- series engine but there seams to be a major design flaw. Anyone???
  14. Definately the hardest part of this project was designing, fabricating and aligning the bracket. I,ll get pics up of that. As far as HP numbers, I can only guess @ 8 psi of boost, ( underdriving the supercharger) probably around 200 HP. I am being conservative on that number and will be dyno tuning with the new motor. I can tell you this though, when you mash the gas pedal, it goes RIGHT NOW!!
  15. Yes, MS-ll version lll main board but I ran the supercharger for a year with stock ECU and a FMU and it worked great but I wanted more control over the spark so I switched to megasquirt. The oil all over the front is from the front main seal, that I found out after tearing it down, was shredded by the oil slinger on the crank.
  16. This is my motor that I supercharged 2 years ago with 300+ thousand miles on it. These motors are sper tough! Supercharger was 70.00 from Ebay and everything else I fabricated. It is time to rebuild!!!
  17. Wow, It is interesting that some people are having problems with rubbing with the 225 50 16s. I still have not even though my car is lowered and my rims are "0" offset wich means that the outer edge of the rim is 4-1/2" out from the surface of the hub! Another interesting thing is tire size. My old tire wheel setup was 225 60 15 and those tires were quite a bit taller than the 225 50 16s that i am using now and still no rubbing. I wonder if the rubbing issues are mostly on the 240Z.
  18. The tire size is 225-50-16 and although they protrude past the fenderwells, there is no rubbing that i've encountered and my car is lowered 1". I haven't gone over any jumps yet though. Thanks for the compliments! Now it's finally time to paint this sucker...
  19. The offset is zero. I'll try to get more angle shots later today.
  20. I've searched long and hard over the years tryin to come up with the tire wheel combo that made my car look like the hotrod/muscle car that it should look like. Spending unmentionable hours on the internet, trying to decide over 16's or 17's and staggered with spacers or adapters (definately not what I wanted) and everything else, I could not find anything that I thought I wanted or was available, that would actually fit the style of a Z car pefectly. Well, nobody has them and nor do they give a rats ass about a wheel tha fits a Z car. I took a chance on the 002 16x 8 that I saw on EBAY, 319.00 for a set of four, and SUMITOMO 225 50 16 HTRZ from TIRERACK.com, 240.00,(these are FAT tires) and mounted and balanced with valve stems and tuner lug nuts 102.00, and man, I bolted them puppies up and took a look and yelled YEHEHEHEHEHES LORD!!! I AM IN LOVE WITH MY CAR AGAIN!!!! no more grampa style cookie cutturs that protrude way into the fenderwell, I now have the DARTH VADER look that I have been searching for, and without flares YEAH BABY! But seriously, if youve been pondering buying a set of these rims, the pictures do not do them justice in the least! They are not wierd looking like in pictures. They are smooth, beaughtiful, and fit the car PERFECTLY!!! I am happier than ♥♥♥♥! I got the hyper silver and they look awesome!!!!
