Thanks for the reply. I am looking for some semisolid replacements for the mckinney inserts but if I can't find any I will get a set of cheap delrin solid mounts. I'm weary of the nvh that the solid will transer into the vehicle. I have read that the inline 6 is very smooth and the nvh will be minimal like you quoted.
Is anyone running solid motor mounts inserts with their rb? How bad is the added noise and vibration? Also is there a jack point under the rb to lift the motor to replace my destroyed urethane inserts or do I need to get another cherry picker?
Yea mine was rusted when I got it and it didn't fit right so it had to be modified. I had to make a spacer for the motor mounts also because the oil pan sat on the steering rack. The quality is lacking!
I am about to install my turbo upgrade and need some advise on some injectors. I run rc engineering in my turbo 350z and was considering buying a set for my rb26dett. Will the rc eng. injectors fit the stock fuel rail and wiring clips?
Thanks,
James
I purchased the obx dump pipes but the internal "bolt in" divider does not fit the -5's. They come with a small divider in the cast. Guess i will take out the divider and have the bolt holes welded and try running them. They have an internal diameter of 2.25 inches as the tomeis are 2.75. Although the obx are divided.
Thanks for clearing a lot up for me. I don't like the square 280z turn signals. They don't flow with the body. I wish there was a "how to" on modifying the front 240 grill to fit the 280. I dont want to buy the parts and find out it doesn't fit that well. It would drive me crazy!
I have decided to swap out my 280z front grill and turn signals for the 240z versions. I have already done a 240z bumper swap. If iI purchase a new 240z air damn, grill, and turn signal housing, will it be an easy swap? Will the 240 grill bolt in the 280z mounting holes with the 280z turn signals moved to the new air damn?
Thanks ,
James
So I lost an ebay bidding war for the tomei m8260's then pulled the plug on a new pair of the 2860r-5's. Now some injectors and get the f-con tuned. Are rc low impedance injectors a direct bolt in application (fit in the stock fuel rail and clips)? Also anyone have any experience with the obx turbo dump tubes. They separate the exhaust and wastegate gasses. The only other option I have found were the tomei but are overpriced for dump tubes.
Thanks,
James
So the deal on the -7's is probably going to fall through due to bad ebay seller. It's a long horrible story.
So that leads me to purchase the -5's or tomei m8260's. Which are the better turbos? I really can't find any reviews on the m8260's.
Thank you for clearing it up. I am looking for 500whp so I guess these turbos can do it but will be topped out. Sure wish i bought the -5's instead. Do I really need an oil pressure reducer?
So i purchased a pair of garrett gt2860r-7's and was wondering the real hp numbers out of these?
Every site I visit state 310 or 350 per turbo. They also state the same hp out of the gt2860r-5's. What is the difference between the two and is 550-600who capable out of the -7's?

I am in need of the brace that bolts onto the sides of the rear of the block that is used to bolt the lower part of the bell housing to the block. Does anyone know where I could pick one up or the part number so i could order a new one?
Thanks,
James
Thanks for the reply. I kinda figured it out with what you have explained. I did not have a manual but was able to find one online. I was able to hit the 14psi mark but had a few spikes so I will set the gain at 10 like recommended and give it another go. It's gonna be a couple of days before I can mess with it again since the Z is blocked in the garage by another project (blower on my LS7).
Thanks,
James
Hello all,
I am looking for good 14psi settings on the GReddy profec B. I have no experience with electric boost controllers and usually have them set by shops. The last shop I had it in had it set at 20psi and that is no good on stock turbos. I have been messing around with it but really have no clue and that gets dangerous.
Thanks,
James
Well I contacted the company that was suppose to section the struts today and they did not section the struts. They just cut off the perch and welded on the new coilover perch. They stated with my tokiko strut cartridges where too big to fit in a sectioned strut housing. Well there went 1200 dollars for just labor. I asked them how much to section them like I wanted with a set of shorter strut cartridges and the price is the same for the labor. So that is 2400 dollars for a set of sectioned struts not including new cartridges. Man this is getting rediculous.
I have a 280z and just had some ground control coilovers welded and installed at a local shop. If I lower the car to where there is still 2 inches from the fender to my tire, the car is sitting on it's bumpstops. With the coilover adjusted all the way to the top only allows 1.5 inches to lower. Is the way its suppose to be. If so this was a total waste of money because my tokico springs lowered it more.

Dave- Thank you.
Aarang- I have gone on there website and spoke with a sales rep. from a SSR distributor and the center caps that will fit the bore are too short. The tallest is 33mm and from my wheel to the tip of the dust cap is 38mm. I have no room for a wheel spacer and I dont think I can flatten out 5mm of the dust cap.
I finally got around to installing my wilwood brakes and ssr sp1 rims and it looks amazing. There is one thing that is killing me and it is the missing center caps on the wheels. I have searched everywhere but have not found a set of ssr center caps that will work with the dust cap. A vendor told me to take the dust cap off and then the ssr center caps will work. Won't removing the dust cap allow the bearings to fling grease everywhere? The other option is to use a different wheel company's center cap but change the sticker. Does anyone know the size of the Rota RB-R center cap?
Thanks
I'm watching the Autometer wideband that I installed. This is not a data logged run. Just watching it while doing my initial runs after getting it started.
