  1. So let me get this straight.... I should buy a 94-97 ECM, get a MAF sensor to go with it and hook it up(once the VATS are gone). This should work then? Is there anything I am missing??? Thanks for the help.

  3. I have looked in the past post but all I seem to be coming up with is LT1 edit for 94-97. Does any one know where I can get an LT1 Edit program for my 93 ECM? Also where can I get some wiring scematics and a painless wiring kit? I known they cost extra but I really want my engine compartment neat. Thanks
  4. Welcome abord! I am doing the same conversion with my 80' 280ZX. I am using an 93' LT1 and T56 Tranny. From what I hear most people preffer the 94 and up T56 because the 6th gear is .50 instead of .62 in the 93' T56. I would heavily recommend buying the Jaguar That Runs conversion manual and the Chevrolet TPI & TBI Engine Swapping manual. You can get both from www.JTRpublishing.com. Also before everyone else tells you this, you should look up in the past posts for LT1 conversions. They have been done and perfected by many people on this post. Look for Darius's car! He's got an supercharged LT1 that has something like 500+ HP! (don't quote me on that though)(it's deffinently up there though).
  5. What is stronger CV's or U-Joints??? I am putting in a LT1 and T56 and I want to change my R180 to a R200 LSD, but I was wondering if I can covert my U-Joints to CV if they are stronger? Is this possible? I have a 80'280ZX that I am doing this on.
  6. So is the one in the MSA catalog any good or are you just buying the other one because it is cheaper??? Hey Mat73GNZ, I know what you are going through on those strut cartriges! I just put in a new suspension in my 80' 280ZX. All new struts, springs, urethan bushings, and bigger sway bars. You need like a 2" wrench to get that nut off the top! I think its actually metric though, something like 48mm or 49mm! Have fun!
  7. I am not sure which one I am going to use yet. I was looking at the one in the MSA catalog. Yeah it's like $800, buts is new Oh and I live in a little town called Navarino. It's about 25 minutes west of Green Bay. What year of car do you have???
  8. Ok I am going to be putting in a LT1 into my 80' 280ZX. I keep reading that the R200 is much stronger than the R180 so i figure I'll put in a R200 LSD and be done with it. What I want to know is are the 1/2 shafts the same from the R180 to the R200. Basically what do i need to do the swap??? Thanks a lot guys!
  9. Kinked_Chrome you said that one of your classmates has a GT40 Cratemotor? As in the new GT40? The one that's not even in production yet? Somebodies dady must have a lot of money! Must be nice. How is he setting that up? In the new GT40 the engine is in the back with rearwheel drive. Is his engine supercharged???
  10. Hey, I'm 19 too!(until next month anyway) But I am going to a more radical set up. I just bought a LT1 and T56 out of a 93 camero Z28. I really wanted the LS1 but those things are way over priced. I am getting it next week sometime and I cant wait till this winter when I will be putting it in !!!
  11. I was just wondering if you had to do anything else to an engine if you put in bigger fuel injectors. I would think that just because your dumping more fuel in that it wouldn't actually do any good. I have an LT1 that I want to add so horse power to and I was just wondering about the fuel ingecters. So what else would I have to do to make putting bigger fuel injecters worth wild??? Thanks Guy

  13. I am putting a new suspension in my 80 280ZX and I am wondering if it is strong enough for a LT1 Conversion? I am using Tokico High Performance Struts and Shocks and Tokico Springs from the MSA Catalog with all bushings and upgraded sway bars. So is this strong enough?
  14. I just bought and LT1 and a T56 tranny and all the extras(ecm, wiring, etc). What I want to know is what do I need to put this in my 1980 280ZX? Like do i need LT1 motor mounts or just 350 motor mounts? I know I need the JTR manual but as far as ANYTHING esle what do I need??? Please give me anything that you think is relavent to this question.
