  1. I am in the process of replacing my dash in my 80' ZX and I can figure out how to get the rear window defogger and interior light dimmer switches out of the old dash. How does the nob come off of those switches???? Someone please help me!!!
  2. Ok, I can't find that release button or whatever on the back. If I can just get those switches out I could put my dash back together! Someone please help!
  3. I got my dash tonight from MSA. It costed $370.53 with shipping and handleing. It took me 2 hours to get the old one off and now I have to put the new one on. All I know is I am not looking forward to putting it back in! Ok, now for my question...You know the 2 nobs on the right side of the dash, one for the rear window defroster and one for the interior dimmer switch? I want to know how the nob comes off so that I can take the plate off of the old dash!!! I would think they just pull off but I can't get them off!!!!!!!! Thanks for the help!

  6. Ok I have a 93 LT1 and T56... I want to put a newer wiring harness and ECM(computer) in it so that I can program the computer. Can I just get a 94 or 95 wiring harness and ECM and put in a MAF or am I missing something? Please help me I can find any information on this swap?(the harness and ecm)

  8. I have the "Ironcross" alloy rims on my 80' ZX and I was wondering what the offset was. I want to go with some 16x7's or 17x7's with a 38-40mm offset will this work? I dont want to increase the bearing load any more than I have to. Thanks 80LT1
  9. Well I dont know what aim is but I do come on this website a lot. My email is ggrenfell18@yahoo.com. I'm just getting started with my swap. I am still trying to find out what I need to get to convert my engine over to a MAF system. That way I can switch computers with a 94-97 LT1. If you find any info on this let me know!
  10. Just to let you know the 93' LT1 engine has a none reprogramable computer. So you will have to switch over to a newer one. That is what I have to do. So if you find any information on this let me know. I havent start the conversion yet so I dont know to much.

  12. I want to convert my 93 LT1 from a Speed Density System to a MAF system so that I can change the computer out to a 94-97 ECM. So can anyone give me some kind of information on this or where some can be found? Thanks a lot!

  14. Well it will be street drive most of the time. I might take it to the track once and a while if I do some new mods. But other than that I will only use it to beat up on unsuspecting Hondas (God I hate Hondas! ) So is that it then just those strut bars?
  15. I was think of getting a Camaro speedo and tach cluster instead of "jerry-rigging" up my speedo for my LT1 and T56. Does anyone know how big that cluster is from a 93+ camaro? I have a 93LT1/T56. This is just an idea so dont jump down my throat about how nice the 80' 280ZX cluster is but I think that this would be much easier! thanks
  16. I am putting an LT1 and T56 in my 1980 280ZX. I am planning on building it up to about 400-450HP at the crank. What I want to know is what kind of reinforcements do I need for my car? I would like to stay away from the roll cage if at all possible, but if that is what it is going to take then so be it! Thanks for the help!
  17. Well it's not too bad but I just got a 93' LT1 with a T56 tranny for $2250 + $400 shipping off of Ebay. It had 75,000 miles on it. Mine came with all accesories(alternator,AC,PS,etc),ECM and wiring harness uncut,driveshaft with torque arm,and the master cylinder and pedal assembly. Try looking on Ebay you will usually find pretty good deals on them with trannys attached! Personally if I had to do it all over again I would have found a 94+ combo because the 94+ you can reprogram the memory instead of having a chip put in. So now I have to get a 94+ EMC, MAF, and possibly a 94+ wiring harness. Which isn'r really that big of a deal. That's my $.02
  18. I got my LT1 today. I bought a 93' off of Ebay with a T56 about 3 weeks ago. It is in really good shape. It isnt all oily or beat-up. I am really happy with it. Now all I need to do is by a 94+ ECM and MAF so that I can reprogram the ECM when I want to.

  20. I tried posting a couple of days ago but got only one response and sorry to say but the website provided was not much help. (but thats for repling ) I have a 93 LT1 that I want to rebuild. I am looking for 400HP-450HP at the flywheel. So nothing to radical. I also want to be able to add a 75HP-150HP shot of nitrous. Can someone guide me to a website that sells a complete kit? All I keep getting is 2 piece rear main seal kits. Thanks

  22. I sorry I didnt understand your reply , So I need a 94+ ECM, 94+ harness(this will work on my engine right?), and a 94+ MAF.(all matching in year, right?) Sorry I just had to clarify Thanks for the info, I have been trying to get some answers for like 2 or 3 days but no one would reply
  23. I was wonder where I could get a good rebuild kit for a 93 LT1? I want to have about 375-400HP at the flywheel. So I am not looking for monster power(yet ). I also want to be able to hook up a Nitrious System to the engine. Something like a 75-125HP shot. Just so I have a little something extra just incase! I want good quality products at a decent price. Please help me! Thanks Guy
  24. Ok, I have looked in the past post and havent found to much info on this but what I do know is that there is no LT1 edit for a 93'. What I want to know is if I go with a newer computer and get a MAF sensor to will this work? I would like the ability to edit my program but I want to know if there is a difference other than the new computerchip with flash memory? Will it hook right up with my harness???
