  2. count me in, i could use this info just as much as everyone else!
  3. sounds like the timing is way off!! sounds like the timing tensioner came loose. maybe skipped a few teeth along the way.. go get a timing light and see where its set at. either that, or your maf sensor is way outa wack, it thinks its getting a ton of air and is dumping in tons of fuel. start simple, check the tiiming and go from there.. theres a saying i learned while working at a shop in texas.... K. I. S. S. Keep It Stupid Simple, and you will most likely find ur answer. and just as a pro caution, change ur oil, you have no idea how much fuel has made it into that crankcase. thats my .02, good luck.
  4. so ur stripping a zx huh? have a good motor youd like to get rid of?

  8. ive already down loaded them, lol it makes a referance as to what to call it. but other than that i cant find the actual procedure. ill look through it again. and as for that parts car. please keep me informed!! the sooner i can get some sorta drive train in the works, the better.
  9. anyone know how to get the window moldings and b pillar trim off? ive tried searching, and keep coming up empty.
  10. at the current moment. take it all apart, get the body straight, freshen up the suspension, basically everything becides the motor, im still undecided.
  11. i know this is gonna be a long shot, but id figured id ask any way. im sure these are long gone.. maybe someone might know who to contact?
  12. idk.. the only way ill go with a L series is if i can find a donor car for a decent price.. and so far, ive only seen one s130 in the chicago land area, and thats mine lol
  13. i like every thing about, even the camber, and stretched tires.. i think it looks proper for the cars era.. id like to know more about it..
  14. well i guess we can start with some history on the car. i purchased it from the original owner, and he just so happened to live in arizona! well in 02' he moved from arizona to knoxville tennessee. which is where i found the car is late 07'. need less to say i took the trip down, only to find a 95% rust free car along with the original title, dealer sticker, ect. ect. ect. well its been about 8 months now, and ive finally got some extra time to start wrenching on her. when i purchased the car, i was aware that there was a very excessive amount of blow by. and by the time i got the car home, it no longer was running. so this past week, ive been slowly taking things apart to prepare to pull the motor, and today it came out of its home. id love to be able to tell you what motor is going to go back in there, but at this current moment, im stuck between a rb20, or a turbo l28. the car is originally an Auto car, so it makes more sence to just buy an entire swap. but im gonna hold out as long as i can, maybe ill come across a nice parts car. now that the engine is pulled, i can concentrate on doing body work, and paint. i will try to take as many pictures as possible, and keep an up to date thread. thanks for taking a look.
  15. so did you start the conversion or what? looking forward to all the pictures..
  16. count me in... just so i can do a little bit more research..
  17. i hate cars like that.. thats why i bought a unmolested car.. that way ill know everything thats done to it!
  18. damn that is one hell of a sticky.. ;)and as for the actual topic of the thread.. im very interested in the answer myself.. seeing as how this is exactly what i planned on doing.. but i was considering a 4barrel intake manifold.. and a plate setup.. and as for an aux fuel setup.. i dont think that would be needed.. just put in a turbo fuel pump.. and a 3 port fuel pressure regulator on, and i think that should be all you need.. please correct me if im wrong here.
  19. ok i wanna know where you got those tail lights!!
  20. i want to see more pictures of this car.. it looks damn good!!
  21. thats what i was hoping for!!! thank you
  22. does any one have pictures of this? ive done a quick search.. and havent found any thing.. maybe im just blind..
  23. ok i have a 80' zx. now i have had nothing but problems with my stock fuel injection setup. so ive decided im going to do the holley 4brl conversion. but my question is.. once i remove all the wiring ecu and such.. will that effect my stock ignition setup? is there a different distributer i will need to acquire? ive searched around the archives and haven't been able to find a 100% sure answer.. so i figured id ask.. thanks in advance!
  24. $1500 dollar challange.. ive ever heard of such a thing.. how do i become a part of this? i just bought a unmodded 280zx from the original owner for 300 bucks!! i want in on this!
