  4. Mike, My wish list for body parts includes fender flares front and rear, one piece valence panel spoiler combo. btw I went to MAS last week and picked up a spoiler for the front end of my 280 its not fancy but the price was right. It,s a neat store, definatly geared for the hard core car guys. Tom [ June 15, 2001: Message edited by: tsumner ]
  5. You should be able to find a streetrod builder in the area. These guys are used to putting together hybrids of various age and vintage. If they can't build the car for you they should be able to reccomend another shop. I have found that the streetrodders are as helpfull and friendly as the hybrid z crew. Tom
  6. mike, Have you checked out the hedders by Ed web site? They have do it yourself parts, and info on how to design your own. Tom
  7. Locutus, I have built boats with epoxy and glass resin over wood. For a wooden boat don't bother with the polyester resin. It does'nt bond with the wood. All the current wooden composit boat builders use epoxy resins they are a superior product. Lookup www.woodenboat.com or pickup a copy of WoodenBoat at the bookstore. There are several manufactures of epoxy resins designed for boat building. Hope this helps, Tom
  8. Thanks for the ideas. I was really hoping someone had come up with an easy solution. How much did it cost to have the piece powder coated? Tom
  9. I'm rebuilding the front suspension on my 77-280. The crosmember has been sand blasted and is almost ready to paint. What is the best way to paint the inside areas of this piece? I plan on using por-15,suggestions anyone? tsumner
  10. webwalker -Have you looked at a copy of Streetrodder magazine? There are usualy at least half dozen adds for guages. tom
  11. Mikelly, can you give more info on what the body parts will look like ?Do you plan on copying the stock front or producing something that compensates for the Z's aerodynamic problems.
  12. Can someone educate me on (chin splitters and rear diffusers). What do they do and how do they do it? Is there any aerodynamic info available for the assorted rebody kits, some of them look very slippery, but so does the stock Z
  13. Thanks Mike, thats the info I was looking for.I'll order my parts on monday. Tom

Mike I am looking for input regarding the coilover conversion itself. I found a kit offered on zcar.com with 4,5,7or8,inch threaded sleeves with 2.5" (any length)spring and any pound rating. What length sleeve and spring combo have others used? I have ordered tokico adjustable shocks, I'm looking for a firm ride but, not race car firm.
