280zforce: You originally have ZG Fender flairs correct? Did the rear fender you have now bolt into the same place you had the ZG's installed? I'm ordering some ZG for now, but would like to get yours whenever you finish everything, but if I have to redrill I'd rather wait it out on the ZG's.

WHat's IIRC mean? And  that paint is sooo glossy.

To add the the stock interiors idea...the carpet feels kinda like the carpeting that ski boats use on the floor. It's the kinda stuff if you get crumbs, dry grass pieces, etc vacuuming them out is a bitch =/ anyone bought from datsunrestore?

Hahaha that's the first thing I noticed when I walked into your house lol. That thing is HUGE!

I'm an hour north of Sac hahaha so it'd be 2 hours away. I'll pick it up though for sure if it's as nice as people say his pieces are. Just waiting on my tax return edit: Hey if you have ANY time at all could you please take a picture from the front of the bumper? All the pictures on his site are kinda to the side so I'm not 100% sure exactly what it looks like. -
If you're set on getting that setup, you will need 4 ballasts. Each ballast goes to each bulb. Then again i don't know if I'd trust the bulbs they provide to put out much light. Link to the auction?

Quality of MSA 240z Fiber Glass Bumpers?

Oh I meant individual as in a front bumper by itself for a stock bodied z. Not designed to go with a whole wider kit. -

Quick Q for you: Not a fan of his whole Subtle Z kit, but like the front air dam, as it looks like the MSA one. Will that bolt onto a stock bodied Z? I'm really tempted to pick that front end up. -
Looking for a lost love. Please read.

Damn....I'm thinking a l28 swap would be easier lol...$300 whole running 280z's pop up from time to time...

Hah, thanks for all the suggestions guys. I'll definitely for spray a ton of wd40 in the spark plug holes since I have plenty of that on hand. Then tomorrow with repeat and then manually crank the engine a bit. Anyone use PB Buster for this? The can says it drives out moisture and acts as lube too, so I figured that would be good? Also has anyone thought of putting a little bit of 2 stroke in the fuel for the initial startup? I use 2 stroke with my rx7 since I removed the stock combustion chamber lubrication system. (Long story...reliability mod ) Would the 2 stroke hurt anything on a piston engine?

After assessing my funds at the moment, I've come to the grim realization that an RB motorswap is out of the question for me at this time. I think I can try and get the L24 running and do the swap later down the road when I have more money at hand. I was reading through a black dragon auto booklet and noticed that the 70 and 71 240z had the L24 with 150 hp, whereas the 72+ started to go down in power with new emissions requirements and such. I looked up and it said the early 280z with the L28 didn't have much more power than my L24 (I don't have the figure on me since I lost the magazine.) So it wouldn't be a worthwhile upgrade from my L24 for the time being. Anyways... My question is this: If I'm going to try and get this L24 running that's been sitting since roughly 1986, what should I do? I know for a fact I'm going to have to try and clean out the gas tank as it has to be filled with crap by now. And as an extra safeguard I saw someone recommended installing an additional fuel filter. I figured I should change the plugs, oil, flush the coolant, but what else? Should I not even try starting it up without taking the motor apart? Do the carbs need to be cleaned out or adjusted? And input is greatly appreciated. Thanks -Nick

Think you could take an up close picture of their sample? I don't mind shaggy as long as it doesn't like fall apart ; btw what type of carpet did you get a sample of?

Anyone? 5 pc sectional kit looks like the whole car, then again a "full kit" has to be everything..
-
I'm going to go ahead and order the carpet for my 240z....does anyone know the difference between the full floor kit and the 5 pc sectional kit? They look the same to me in the pictures =/ I kinda wanted to go with the stock interiors for that mass backing option. I'm aiming for the super quiet and comfy interior but they only offer the 5 pc sectional kit...if that means it'll cover all my floor and cargo area I'm set! My vinyl is all nice, but I'm going to replace it with some custom interior fabric so I just need ALL the carpeting. http://www.datsunrestore.com/catalog.html
-
hmm I may go ahead and order a set too...I'm finishing the interior or my car first.
-
It seems every thread I search on carpeting kits, ends with noone ordering and following up. Has ANYONE bought a carpet kit from one of these sites with positive results?
-
I went ahead and ordered the RAAMaudio stuff. Can't wait til I find some time to get my interior finished...then I can work on finding an engine D:...and suspension...and brakes....and bodywork jhsafdlkjashdflkjsad

Hey guys, just wondering if anyone has bought headlight covers from this guy and if they fit...just want to make sure they won't like fly off on the road or have huge gaps ; http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Datsun-240z-260z-280z-Headlight-Covers-Clear-NEW_W0QQitemZ220198173056QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item220198173056 or even here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Headlight-Covers-Datsun-Z-240Z-260Z-280Z-70-78-Tinted_W0QQitemZ370020190925QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item370020190925 But I think they offer non tinted ones..
-
so you laid out the Rammatt all over and double layered the floor area and rear quarter panels, then used spray glue to lay a single layer of that sound absorber stuff?
-
How much RAAMmat did you use and how much of the foam material did you use? I've decided to use his product, but don't want too much >.>

Wow Roseville? You're only 45 minutes away from me. haha I'll have to check this out sometime. Looks like a great fit. I think I'll end up trying that once I getmy Z up and running >.> I sold one of my Rx7s so now I have some cash to get the Z in top shape
