I 've converted my 1988 200sxSE to a remote turbo set up and it works decent.I would like to up the fuel pressure under boost.I was thinking of using a Walbro inline pump with a BEGI RRFPR.Anyone know if its OK to feed the Walbro pump using the stock 200sx intank pump????also how noisey is the Walbro pump???thx, mike.
....i turboed the v6 in my 1988 200sxSE and have no problems using the n/a electronics...granted its a remote turbo[rear] mount location and not as efficient as a engine mounted set up....but it works fine...idles smooth as glass,no fast idle stall outs, great gas milage and hits 5 hg boost.
i've turbo'd the vg30 in my 200sxSE[REMOTE set up]....i was curious if anyone who has done other turbo conversion had to add one way valves to keep the boost pressure out of certain area's.
Thanks Jersey....I'd appreciate that..I was paging thru the Chilton book and sure enough it mentions the VCV[DECELERATION VALVE to control oil use under high vacuum],...IT doesnt have much of a picture though...in the vacuum diagram it shows it on the wrong side of the t/b but gets its vacuum/pressure feed from the correct side of the t/b....i was curious if it threads into the block or bolted???maybe I could adapt to the aluminum elbow that feeds my t/b.
I have been folowing this informative post.Could someone post a picture[close up] of this VCV??I MIGHT WANT TO TRY ON MY 1988 200SX SE remote mount turbo.I need to add a BOV but this VCV sounds easier and CHEAP.
I am finishing up my remote[rear] mount turbo set up on a 88 200sxSE.i AM using a T3 from a 300zx and feeding it oil with 3/16" brake line[hard] all the way to the rear.I have read about using a oil restrictor inline to limit the flow....would this be necessary in my project??
i have never installed one yet in a 700r4 but on the t350 it gave 2 or 3 levels to choose....i always went middle of the road and it was just firm enough of a shift....did you have to readjust the tv cable?
..i've done this on a t350 under a Chevelle[a messy affair] and a t200r4 on a work bench[heaven]...use vasiline to hold the balls in place.....and use a torque wrench to tighten down the valve body bolts....they strip very easily[trust me].
I'm in the planning of a rear mount turbo set up, I will be using a electric pump to circulate the oil to and from the turbo. What would be the minimum storage capacity of a resevoir to feed the turbo???Two quart catch can of synthetic be enough???thanks, mike.
I was wondering if a aftermarket in-line fuel pump could be used to pump oil[10w-30] to a low buck rear mount turbo???i'm trying to build a self contained oil system for the back mounted turbo and I am trying to eliminate running oil lines from the engine to the rear.Any suggestionson how large a resevoir would be needed as well as a safe pressure needed?????thaks for any input, mike.
....i have a gravity HVLP gun for sale...$50.00....i bought it from JCWhitney for 99.00 and painted my old 72 Chevelle...its in excellent condition and was easy to learn on....my garage painting days are over[neighbors were compaining]..LOL.
... ....have your friend look into CLUB- S12.ORG....SOMEONE IS DOING this swap right now and its anything but a drop in installation....cant use the Z31 turbo crossmember...the turbo brackets have to be cut off and weded onto the 200sx cross member....anyway the guys documenting the swap and has pictures posted at the site.
