  1. I suppose the "soft glass" idea is not impossible, I see Jeeps all the time with thick vinyl rear side windows on their soft tops. Don't the early Miatas have a vinyl rear window (I don't think they're glass). Even then it may only last a few years in the elements without deteriorating...

As far as I can tell, the OEM glass has curvature in only one direction. So maybe you can borrow one and "mold" a plexiglass one from it if you can find a big enough oven (do you know anyone that works at a pizza joint?) I'm not sure if you can heat and bend Lexan as easily...

the lexan wouldnt be able to, you would have to make a huge jig to hold it in place our it would go off the ends of the glass...

  2. I have read a bit about lexan windows, but havent found anyone that is selling them. Know anyone that can cut some? And at what cost? My main concern would be getting the convex shape to seal correctly. I think it might be a neat idea to have four pins that hold the window in place and are easily removable on a hot day.

its alot stronger than lexan and wont fade or scratch like lexan will...

and you can put it in the regular window reg to just roll it up and down like a normal window..

  3. i too will agree, me being 20 and i still think im not experienced enough to handle a 400+hp car. I drove a 350hp 5.0 mustang and it was a hand full. I drove it for almost a week and got used to it and how that much power reacts on the street.

And for your son i would recommend just beefing up the stock engine and waiting a bit longer for that kind of power. I know when i was 16 i had a 86 supra and that was more than enough to get in trouble. so i downgraded for my own sake to a 85 corolla sr5 lol

  4. The funny thing is, when something worries you problems arise everywhere. If you didnt really care about your car you would never notice this activity.Try a spot that seems stupid,or put your car in danger-it will probably be safest there.

This is true, a friend of mine had his cherry 67 mustang and always picked the back of the lot at work, and some dumbass in a 98+ camaro was spinning donuts and lost control and slammed into the side of it. Lucky he had full coverage insurance and was able to fix it, but was just a very sad day and huge pain in the ass
