  1. Hey I got 2nd place this year in the 240z modified class! That plus $2.50 will get me a cup of coffee but I'm very happy none the less. Does anyone know who got first?
  2. I'm going to try and make the CVZ meet next Satuday. Do you ever go to those? If not I'm out once a week or so, maybe today. But I need a new battery first. Get ahold of me and we can make arrangements to meet up.
  3. I've swaped the suspension from a z32 so it's quite a bit wider, I flared the fenders as wide as I could in steel to try and cover the 350z wheels but w/o going to fiberglass I coulden't get them completely tucked in.
  4. I'm headed home to Bakersfield for X mas (currently delayed in the Denver airport) but hopefully I'll make it home tonight. Cant wait to see my cars, its been 3 months. I Should be home long enough this time to get started on my interior, I've purchased some carpet, some fake leather some glue and some sizzors ( How hard can it be --- right? ) so wish me luck. Merry Xmas Everybody! John P.
  5. Hey Tyson ---no I havn't been to any CVZ meets lately. I spent most of the summer in PA and now I'm in Wyoming until the new year. I should be home for a bit at Xmas then hopefully I'll have some time off in Jan. so maybe a meet will be in order (keeping my finger crossed) sorry to hear your cars in jail-my sympathies- To answer your question, yes I did do all the work myself. with the exception of the final paint and color sand, I did do the sheet metal and bodywork but learned that the pros are much quicker at it. John P
  6. New plates for my 71z32 swap---new40z---get it?
  7. No on the door panels, the center vent will line up with a bit of modification. I used some duct tape to seal off the side vents where they exit the ac unit. John P.
  8. :burnout:Hooray! I got my airline tix and I'm headed home! I'm finally going to get to see my cars again. --- After 4 months driving a Dodge truck I cant wait to get into a performance car. I'll be headed to the MSA West Coast Nationals show on Friday. This will be the first time my project new40z/z32 has been out in public. It's not really complete but I dont care, I've been away too long. I hope to see some of you there. I would imagine I'll be in the 240z modified section. Please say hello if your there. John P.
  9. At some point soon I will post more pic's. I'm currently in Illinoise and haven't been home to see my car since X-mas:icon_frow--- the end of may is looking good for some r&r. I got a new camera recently so I'm sure I'll take a bunch of pictures to post. I'm glad you like it. John
  10. Are there any updates to this project? Makes me wish I had crashed a TT instead of my N/A. I hope your moving forward--nice work. I would love to see it on the road. p.s. I used the z32 rack and power steering and it works great (lots of work) details availible if your interested. Here's my vg30de swap http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=129441
  11. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=129441 These pictures and this site are all I have to pass the day ----Help! Im stuck in an Iowa cornfield, looking at the snow. I may as well be at the N pole, there's not a sole around for miles -God I'm board, I miss California, I really miss my cars. Winter sucks !!! come-on spring
  12. Big Dodge 4x4 2500 HD Turbo Diesel, Love the power and the whine of the turbo is great. Best part--The company pays the fuel bill and they send a new one every 15k miles. I thrash around in the snow or mud most of the day. When I'm home it's a 93 z32 convertible.
  13. Here's a link to some more pic's and info on my project new40z http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=129441
  14. Thanks Mike! It means alot coming from the V8 gang, That's a good looking engine you have. I must admit, I'm jealous.
  15. Here's some pic's of the doner car that made project new40z posible. There wasn't much left when I was finished.
  16. I haven't been out of 4 wheel drive for over a month----God I mis Ca. Stuck in Iowa, -9 this morning. Have fun in the mud.
  17. Hey Tyson- Ive been reading your post on cvz for awhile --I think you were going to come to my Tehachapi zbq a few years back- then couldn't make it? (could be wrong, not sure) anyway hope to see you sometime in Bakersfield. -- Justin, The rear swap works real well but plan on some substantial flares or it'll look funny . I did it with out cutting into the car with a bolt in adaptor for the rear mounts and welded in front bolt locations. It would be easier if you weren't worried about cutting the car and would probably make for an easier install. I wasn't sure I could make it work so I didn't want to cut the car up. Its a bit difficult to explain w/o pictures. Next time I'm home I'll get some documentation put together.-Or if all works out I'll be in CA for the Moter Sport West Coast Nat. show in April. You can see it for yourself. I have more rear suspention pic's. I just have to find them. John P.
  18. jeffer and jsm---The Florida polls are closing in 1 hour, shouldn't you be out voting or something?
  19. Screwy ass weather, I'm transplanted from CA. to N Iowa for a few months. After a month of single digits, yesterday it was 40 degrees and felt like spring, today it's back down to -14 with 50 mph winds,Unfit for man or beast, If this is climate change, Climate change Sucks! and I miss my cars. "Screw you guys---I'm going home" Eric Cartman http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=129441
  20. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=129441 Hey cool-- I just figured out how to attach a link. Heres some other pic's of my taillights and the rest of my car as well. I had already completed my lights when I saw Dan's car, I had also already bought my paint. Strange coincidence? Maybe, Dans car was very inspirational. Whenever I thought I would never finish I would pull up a pic of Dan's car and it kept me moving forward . John P. (new40z)
  21. I met dan a few years back and saw his car. He did a much nicer job on his z32 taillight swap than I did. This was my first attempt at a body mod. so I ended up building a lexan cover that covered my sloppy work, oh well, in the end I really like the way it turned out. I learned a lot and my skills improved greatly before the car was finished. I'm still jealous. Nice work Dan
  22. I almost forgot the best part------ I LOVE IT WHEN SHE SCREAMS!!! The z that is. Kids make great sandblasters.
  23. I bought my 240 project at a yard sale for 250 bucks when my son was 1 year, I thought it would be neat to build it for him and figured 16 years would be just about enough time. My wife didn't understand, so my z waited for me -- patiently. My marriage failed a few years later and while it sat in disrepair my car never complained once. I went to work in Europe for a few years and continued to neglect the car and still the car never complained. Several more years after I came home a new girlfriend/fiance became more important so the car waited again - not a peep. Feb. 2003 my fiance and I broke up for good. It was a really tough time for me. On Valentines Day 2003 my son and I started a relationship with the one girl who had been there waiting the whole time. She wasn't much to look at but she had a lot of character and I new she loved me because after seven years of neglect she started right up with a set of jumper cables. I was in love again and it felt great! Over the next 4 years I gave her a new heart, new eyes a complete new body, reshaped her hips, bought her some new shoes and a coat and shaved her butt. (lol, this is getting hard to keep up.) She's now the prettiest girl on the block and my son (now 11) loves her as much as I do, Now he cant wait to turn 16 so he can play with her too. I might get jealous but a deal is a deal. My relationships were doomed anyways, God I'm glad I never sold my car, It gave me the therapy I needed and brought me a lot closer to my son and now that it's done, I'm making a lot of friends in z car land and ----------------all the pretty girls want to ride with me. ------------------ (OK maybe the last part is a bit of a stretch) John Papasergia (new40z)
