  1. I was just looking to get a few opinions on tubing size for I/C plumbing. Right now I will be using a stock 83 turbo engine with a stock T3 turbo, non-EGR intake, 60mm T/B, Jeff P downpipe, 3" exhaust, med NPR I/C. I have big plans for the car when money and wife permit. Is there a big advantage over using 2.5" as compared to 2.25"? I will eventually be upgrading to a T3/ To4e 50 and getting an SDS FI system. If I were to use 2.25" now, would it be too restrictive for the larger turbo later? I would like to do all the engine mods now, but financially it won't work. I am relatively new to turbos but have done alot of research on this board and other sites. Any help/opinions greatly appreciated!
  2. I remember seeing a while back a company that makes a premade ready to install fuel rail for the EFI Z manifold. Having no luck with the searches, does anyone know what the name of this company is? Any help is appreciated.
  3. The cross members are the same, the only thing you need are the manual rack hold down clamps. They should be relatively easy to find. I did this to my '82.
  4. I know this is a simple question, but how do you convert cc's to lbs/hour on injectors? I have some merkur injectors @370cc each. Ford Mosport sells 8 new injectors for $200 in a variety of sizes that would fit right into the Z manifold. They look identicle to the Merkur ones. I might try these instead.
  5. I'm getting some more info on different Engine management systems. I'll see if I can get another group buy going for the SDS
  6. I have the money saved ( finally ) to buy the SDS system. I recently went on their sight and discovered the price has jumped to $1320 for the EM4 6F distributorless system. with everything I want with it, the price is $1628. For the system that retains the distributor ,EM4 6E, the cost with all the add ons is $1253.I will be using an MSD box and coil which will add another $200. My question is is the distributorless system worth almost $200 more? Is it that much better. The system is going on a relatively mild ( 300hp+)82 ZX turbo swap with upgraded T4/T3 turbo, NPR IC, 370cc inj, cam, etc. Any input appreciated
  7. I'll get some pics tommorrow. Thanks for the help
  8. The core of the intercooler is 12"H x 10"W x 2.5" deep. The kit has all of the tubing, clamps, air filter, etc, although I will be getting new couplings. It looks to me like I have to cut a hole by the hole the airfilter coupling goes through to the front. The intercooler bolts directly in to existing bolt holes, so I don't need to drill any new ones. I was hoping to put about 17PSI through this and hoping to get roughly 300HP. That is my goal. I just don't know if this intercooler is big enough.
  9. I recently acquired a used Cartech intercooler kit for my 280ZX turbo. Does anyone have any info on this kit? The intercooler itself looks to be a Spearco unit, but there are no markings on it. I contacted Cartech directly, but they don't have any info on the kit other than there were'nt many made. Any info appreciated.
  10. Its a small world. I live on Camas, also.
  11. Are they a direct bolt in or is there some modification involved?
  12. Thanks for the replys. What are the 370cc injectors from? I will eventually be going to the SDS FI setup, so I'll wait to use the 420cc injectors at that time. Will the 370cc injectors work good with the stock ECU? I'm new to having a turbo Z, so any input is appreciated.
  13. Has anyone heard of using the 420cc fuel injectors for an early Mercedes 450SL on a turbo Z? They look identical and are only $50 ea brand new. I would like to try these on my turbo Z, but I can't return them if I buy them. Thanks
