  3. Here's mine on the road after 12 years
  4. sorry for the lack of updates, Here's whats been happening, Ended up having to section the front strut's coz it was'nt low enough, I used mk1 golf/rabbit gas inserts in the end up front with 300lb 7" springs and left the standard inserts in the back for now but with 300lb 7" springs to, plan to use golf gas inserts here to but with a spacer, this is how it sits now Also im in the process of converting the front to vented disc's with the toyota callipers, already had the S12+8 but not vented disc's I have been having a hole lot of fun driving it around the last few weeks though
  5. Heres my new wheels Nissan Primera/Almera 15 x 6 steels banded into 9's & 10's Pretty Happy with how they turned out, had to cut the rear archs out and fit over fenders on thou for clearance
  6. update from the weekend, Had the tyres swopped over on to the back rims, nice little bit of stretch, Then 6 police turned up and evacuated me becuase there was a suspected WWII bomb found next to my workshop :o After a few hours I was aloud back in, it was only a weight off a fly press in the end. tried the backs on, think I could of gone wider but will prob need to space them out a bit when I do the back coilovers. yesterday was coilover day off and ready to go cut round the spring perch with a hacksaw then a quick tap with a hammer and off it comes clean up the rest off the weld and slide on the bottom ring, then the threaded adjuster All back together ready for test fit bolted back on,Wheel clears the shock just, Tomorrow I will put it back on its wheels and see how low it is
  7. Alright thanks Had a bit of a lazy weekend on the car, only done a bit yesterday, took all the wiper linkage off and un siezed it and got the wiper motor working again, Wheels are going off for banding today though so should be back for friday and i can start the coilover's next weekend then
  8. Floors had been started many years ago so had to tidy them up and finish welding them, Couldnt find a set of frame rails over here in the UK so ended up making my own out of 70mm box section and machining it down to size and notching in the front section. Floors now painted up and seat rails in, I'm using MR2 seat some had to make my own rails because the OG ones are to tall test fitted my superior 500 wheel its a but smaller then the standard datsun one so i can get in and out easier and hopefull wont make the steering to heavy Fitted some ram pipes to the SU's Want to get it alot lower to the ground so brought these Civic,/ Integra coilover conversions off ebay, the inner diameter is the same as the 240 struts, dont know what the spring rates are but im gonna worry about that later, i can always get some more higher rated ones after. they were cheaper than making my own ! gonna make some camber plates and mono ball top mounts to, Also brought some archs back ones are not wide enought so got some more coming another 1' wider, gonna run banded steels for now as i cant find any rims over here that i like in the right width or that hasnt been done before, think im going with 9J and 10J at the moment but could go 10 and 11 Anyway thats how far i've got to date, Im trying to get it on the road for a show at the end oif March so can see a few late nights coming up, look forward to your comments and stuff, be nice Cheers Atomman
  9. Hello from sunny Wales ! Finished my mk1 golf a few weeks back so it was time for a new project, I've always liked old Japenesse metal and especially with my mate in work showing pictures of Skakotan cars it got me thinking! Anyways this car came up the other day close by so went and had a look , owner was a real nice bloke who had onwned it for about 9 years and had just had is sat in the garage and played about with it now and again but never really got it done, so a few days later I turned up with a trailer and it was mine ;D Got quite excited about it all and took a few days off work to get on with finishing off the welding that the previous owner had started years ago on the new floor pans, been on it all weekend and every night last week and the welding should be finished tonight, Then its my favorite part trying to get it alot closer to the road ;D
