  1. 80LT1, I hate exhaust shop jobs. They want to do it fast and they use a tubing bender to make it. I like mandrel bends, This is why I am building it myself. I am running 21/2 exh from the 2100 headers into one 3" pipe out the back, I bought the mandrel bends from Summit. Mudge Where do you live in the Bay Area? Do you think that we could try to flash the Corvette ecm? Mike
  2. Also thanks to Jeromio for his Camaro shifter. The Camaro shifter works very good in the Z for the 4l60e Trans.
  3. Lt1 swap is almost done. I built 1/2 of the exhaust this weekend. All I need now is to buy a radiator and Program my ECM. I was looking into LT1edit but I found out that Lt1edit has problems running the Corvette ecm Without the CCM. Looks like I will have to buy the Tunercat now. A few more weeks. Does anyone in the Bay Area have Tunercat? Mike
  4. MikeC The 4l60e works just fine the way it is in the Corvette. I have a 95 Corvette motor in mine.
  5. dominic280Z how long does your drive shaft need to be? I have my Drive shaft that I use to use on the R200 before I went to the R230. And it has the right adapter on it with 1310 ujoints. Mike
  6. I just put my 2100 headers on my lt1 engine. Spark plugs fit good, but I had to move both of my knock sensors. My Lt1 Vette wires had 90 degree boots on them. Mike
  7. Dan look for an obd1 94-95 engine the 95 has the better opti spark I went with the Vette engine on mine
  8. dmyntti Why do you need LSD? My 280z with the 383 has run 11.0 on just motor with the stock r200 non lsd. Traction has never been a problem on Z-cars with good tires. On my 72 240z I am going with a R230, only because I bought this diff with 4 inner cv's and the axles cut to 12" for $300. The 3.54 with OD is nice on the highway. I think alot of people try to over build the Z-cars, it does not take that much to make z-cars run good. If you need LSD just buy a R230, they go for $200-300 online. Mike
  9. I have been talking to Tim to see about having CV Adapters made. He can have them made, but the price will depend on how many people are in on the group buy. Tim Count me in for a set. thanks Mike
  10. I have 2 welders Lincoln 100 and Hobart 175 My lincoln 100 does not like to weld with .35 but with .24 it welds very good and that is all you need for small welds. The Hobart 175 welds good with any wire size.
  11. I did not like the idea of using a hard line adpter, but I did find out that GM used a power steering 14m x 1.5 with the oring on the end. I wanted to keep the GM braded line and just hook up the AN to the end. I found out that Earls part# 9894dbh will adapt this. You could also use one of the parts to just screw right into the fuel rail for the F body LT1. I spoke to Earls and they do not like the hard line adapter as much. Mike
  12. Everytime I post a pic it comes out small. How do I post large size?
  13. Look like I am going to use a 6AN line from the LT1 fuel line to the pump. Does anyone know what fitting this is? I need to buy Aeroquip fitting that will adapt this GM male size ( It looks like 3/8 pipe but it has an Oring on the end) to a 6AN line. Here are some pics. Thanks Mike
  14. Lets try to get 5 sets sold and get the price down to $200.
  15. Time for the drive shaft now. Looks like it needs to be 28" long on my car. I will find out how much it will cost to have the Q45 drive shaft made in the morning. Does anyone know when Ross will make the cv flange? Tim it looks like I may have to take you up on the flange. Mike
  16. I just replaced my bad frame rails on my 72 240z, and at the same time I ran them all the way back. I also had to fix some holes in the floor. It looked real bad before I started but it only took 2 days and the car is alot stronger than stock now. I can now jack the car by the frame rails without bending them. Mike
  17. what roll cage kit is this? I am looking for a 6pt roll cage. Mike
  18. what roll cage kit is this? I am looking for a 6pt roll cage. Mike
  19. What did everyone use for a surge tank? My fuel set up is next. My fuel line on my Lt1 are steel and the come out in the back of the motor, so I am just going to run hard line to the back. Mike
  20. my 95 Corvette motor had hard lines on it, no plastic.
  21. niceguy678us, the front mount was not that hard to make. But someone should set up a install kit for the R230. Mike
  22. Let me know on cost. I would like to get this car done soon. Thanks Mike
  23. I have the big 4L60e trans and I did not want to hammer too much.
  24. The polly isolators are from a leaf spring truck (1987 Suzuki Samurai). Now I need som cv adapters, I hope Ross C is going to make them. This web site has been very helpfull for info. Thanks Mike
