  1. The stock wiring harness on the 05 GTO ls2 fits the z-car very good. The harness only needs 2 hots added. All of the other wiring is done on the Blue J1 plug, this is a plug that plugs into the ecu and is separate from the engine harness. You will find everything you need in this plug. the TBW will also be in this plug I think it is 4 wires and you extend them to the TBW pedal.

ULISES Can you post some pictures of the ecu and wires and TBW pedal.

    * Denotes a difference from the Factory Service Manual (FSM) and my harness.

29 FSM has the color listed as TH instead of TN.

48 FSM doesn't list the red stripe (BN/RD), only listed as solid brown (BN).

54 Is listed as Not Used. I split open the loom and followed it to the Body Control Module (BCM).

  2. A couple of questions for you if you don't mind. First' date=' did you get your swap CARB approved? If not, how will you deal with it the next time you need an inspections...if so, did you run into any major issues getting the approval? Second, do you have sponsors? I would think so based on the stickers...just wondering if that is working out well for you.

    Very nice car and swap![/quote']

    I have a few sponsors.

JTR They have helped alot on the buildup with parts and info.

    Nitto Tires Free NT01 tires

    Endless brakes AutoRND

Raceshop Oval exhaust and CM roll cage

Orinda Shell-----Joey He let me use the shop and tools from time to time. We also aligned my car 1 day before the event.

The MPG test was done in stop and go LA trafic. And I have the only v8 in the contest but I still pulled off mid 20's MPG in trafic.

The Drag strip test was done with a track that had alot of sand on the track to favor all of the AWD cars. When we went to the road course my car was right at home. I can not post too much info until the Magazine comes out with the results. I have alot of video that I will post in 2 months.

Sweet build! I got an RX-7 now too. Do you have the build posted somewhere. Did you use Hindson? etc..

Also how did you get treated at SCC?

    Cool Deal.[/quote']

The engine subframe started out as a Hinson part. And then I moved it back and down to make room for the 90mm TB and 4" cold air. The trans mount, cooling system are from JTR. I have some buildup pictures posted on torquecentral.com.

Also how did you get treated at SCC?

Lets just say that they do not like v8's. The MPG test was done in stop and go LA trafic. And I have the only v8 in the contest but I still pulled off mid 20's MPG in trafic. The drag race was done on a track that had alot of sand on the track to favor all of the AWD cars.

  4. Damn, must be nice having 510 rwhp and zero turbo lag. That's crazy. How are those NT-01's?

The NT01 are good track tires and they are still ok for traction from a stop. They have stiff side walls so you can not drag race with them too good. I took my car to SearsPoint to see how they would do in the 1/4 with the NT01's on the car. My best was 11.30@130mph but not bad for a road race tire.

I had to give the skyline a 2 car head everytime so he could get the big turbo going. I would catch him and then we where even all the way unil I hit my redline in 4th and then he pulled off. I should have put the car into 5th but we where allready going too fast.

  5. I know that this is a Datsun site but wanted to let people know what I have been up to. And yes I still love the Z-Cars..

    510rwhp right now.

Pictures are from Sports Compact Cars USCC that I was competing in 2 weeks ago.

My car is set up for road Racing but it still runs ok at the drag strip.

Best so far 10.5@136mph NA This was done with 620lbs springs on the car.

  6. That's the best fix but I've got to get it done sooner than two or three months from now. Last I heard on torquecentral' date=' JTR has a huge back order.

Is your RX7 back on the road now Mike?[/quote']

JTR has headers now, he also has them with new collectors and ban clamps.

My 427 is now up and running in my RX7. I just do not have time to drive it.

  7. David that mount does not look very strong. Post some of the updated pictures if you can. If you build the mount like LS1240z did this will allow you to get rid of the stock x-member. this will help give you more room for the exhaust to clear. You will also have less leverage by using the bolts that the diff strap use to bolt to. Good luck on the q45 diff swap.

    Mike
