  1. Im with a lot of these guys, 6 speeds are cool but I would only swap one in if it was more compatible with the engine im swapping. the holinger, quiafe, grex, hks.. etc etc Trannies all cost upwards of 10k, a t56 can be bolted to just about any gm engine, for the rb25 swap just use its tranny, the 5spd from a gtst can handle upwards of 700 pounds of torque, companies like hks and trust make triple disc clutches, much easier to keep it. Hell id use that 5spd with the rb26 or rb20.The only other 6 spd id use besides the t56 is the v160 out of the 4th gen supra, and that can only really be used with the 1jzgte or 2jzgte since they share bellhousings, now that the 1jz swap into mk3 supras is becoming a little more popular( i think we have like 5 now) some of us are gonna switch to the v160, im sure a 1jz with mild bolt ons and the v160 would be MEAN on a road course/Auto-x.
  2. im trying to find that flare/front end kit and the CF hood. They modified the rear end, used a r200 but they used a z31 Dogmission, the rear wheels are 17x11 with 690mm tires in the back(dont ask me why they measure in MM, but thats roughly a 275-285 the wire i figure, or a 255/265 Really stretched out.
  3. I hope this works... http://s-garage.hp.infoseek.co.jp/s30z.htm
  4. And before anyone says it, I do have the MSA book.
  5. um, JDM tuning house, they work with older Nissans, kpgc10 skylines( the prince styled ones), They do a lot of work with s30z's and bluebirds/510's. They make a pretty badass flare kit, if I could figure out how to post a picture from my hard drive i would share it. They have a badass s30 that takes on evo's, wrx's, new gtr's and such at tracks like tsukuba. I wouldnt say its ignorance, im just VERY JDM oriented, As you can see from my post count, i mostly read, dont do much actual posting, very knowledgable of japanese cars though, I converted a 90 supra Turbo to the Japanese twin turbo R version, you know, the 1jzgte. Its a pretty difficult swap, much harder than sr20 240's or v8 Z's( and yes Ive done all three)
  6. kinda new to the board but i cant seem to find a post about it, looked a little, but does anyone know where to get Spirit Garage parts in the us or something similiar to what they offer..
  7. let me add, if anyone else wants to do this, in my experience, do these swaps with the pre-vvti 1jz's, ge tthe 2.5 twin turbo, not the single. the wiring is a lot more of a mess. the datsun takes to the older motor quite well.
  8. Can I be of any service? 1jzgte swapped into an mk3 supra. Ive helped with the few in the states, plus my buddies sell the best state side clips. There is more than one kit for the 1jz, and even more pieces sold seperatly. If I were swapping into a 240z, your gonna have to make custom tranny mounts anyway, so use the 6speed from a 4th gen supra, the bellhousing is identical to the r154 that mates to the 1jz, the added bonus aside from better gearing is clutch selection, at that point buy a 2jz lightened flywheel and have someone state side(http://www.suprastore.com) ship you the Arizona clutch, perfect for daily driving, slippable(which a street driven modded 240z needs) and can handle all sorts of power. e-mail me if you wanna know anything else.
