  1. I have plenty of 7ms, i havnt decided which to use yet, lots of pluses to both motors, i may stick with it, if you want a 7mgte, just e-mail me. i have several sitting around. Majik16106@yahoo.com
  2. I have some on a friends digi cam, but i havnt loaded them up, however the 7m might be coming back out, i think i might just go ahead and take the 1jz out of the supra and stick it in instead....
  3. let me just say, i said all that assuming its a street car.
  4. You dont want the turboboss manifold and you dont want twins on that car, especially if you road racing. a single t3t4 hybrid can make well over 400rwhp on a 7mgte, PLENTY to propel a 2300 lb car through turns quickly. These cars get really tail happy with not much power on a road course, they arent like supras where you need 500rwhp to really get through a road course quick. the FASTEST e-production Z in the country has just under 200rwhp, on of if not the fastest street cars that run up at road atlanta is Steve Huetter's turbo l28 motor, and he makes just at 330wheel, I havnt had a chance to run it up there but im willing to bet ill be up there with him.
  5. im not pulling the 1jz out of my 90 to put in the Z, the 7m will work fine because at 350rwhp your right at the 7ms efficiency range, the only reason its not so fast in the mk3 supra is the damn wieght, not to mention the only thing the mk3 suspension is good for is cruising at highway speed. at 350rwhp the 7m can be beaten on daily, and in 2300 lbs of car.. it will move pretty damn fast.
  6. A friend of his made it, dont know him, just know the guy who owns the car. Steve Huetter, green car, the "gumby" car. im not sure all the tubing in his car is the same size. I dunno, Another guy is building a cage for me, his name Is David Batson, he fabs all kinds of crap for everything from 66 impalas to 2002 hyundai tiburons, he makes cages, turbo manifolds, tube frames, custom brackets, custom piping, he paints and does body work, this guy is a one stop shop, if your in the Atl area but if you are, shoot me a pm and ill give you his number.
  7. ill be the first person to say, make sure the car is a straight/square body, then add a good, good roll cage. The earlier model 240/260 twist much easier than the 280 because the frame is weaker. The launching is your big problem, its anytime you push that car through a turn, which you woudl probably do given how much fun it is. The g-forces on the body from hauling ass in a twisty is much worse than a harge launch. as for suspension, the most common upgrades are coil overs, but a cage is highly recommended. There is a guy in Atl. pushign 350 dyno proven rwhp, he just used cut coil springs and adj struts. but he also used the fatty roll cage.
  8. how about the biggie, how does it feel to drive? how fast? how sideways? raced anything?
  9. im sending you a PM, we NEED to get in touch...
  10. but with a coil over i could just lower it back down... right? I would just loose an inch of adjustment...
  11. Badass, thank you. So there is no way for me to get a 3.54 LSD. well i guess thats cool, I guess ill pick up the 3.70 then, thanks a lot.
  12. its a whole coil over set off a 280, think of it like this: have a road raced 77 280z, guy pulls the motor and gives me his car, I can pull off that whole suspension set, his coil overs, his struts, his brakes.. ETC ETC ETC.. how much of it can i bolt onto my 72 Z. IT sounds to me if i use 280 strut tubes with the 280 threaded sleeves, it will bolt up perfect? the car will have a damn good cage put in to stiffen things up. I like my car to sit REALLY flat, so im thinkin the sway bar shouldnt cause much problem. I will call Ross tomorrow for some additional info, and then ill let you guys know when i do it if i do it.
  13. ok, i know the r200 is a must for big power, i plan on swapping one, however, im confused by which r200's were LSD and which were open. If I can, i would like to have the 3.54 in a limited slip.. does anyone sell them, ive gathered at this point the 3.54 is an open, and the 3.73 is the lsd, but i know there is like a 4.11 and like a 4.88 all the way back down to a 3.3x or something. so can someone make out a list of each diff gearing and if it is available stock in lsd or open diff, and then if its available aftermarket in an lsd.
  14. forgot to mention, he also had slotted rotors and stainless steel lines..
  15. I know the coil overs are the same, heard the strut bars and sway bars fit either car, but struts are always listed seperated. I know for instance, in the Sc300 vs the mk4 Supra, you can bolt coil overs made for either car, to either car, but you cannot use sc300 springs with supra struts, you have to use all or nothing. So my questions is, my buddy has some suspension stuff he no longer needs, namely sway bars, strut bar, coil overs and tokico illumina 2's, if i buy all of it, can I bolt it to my 73 240z, as his car was a 77 280z.
  16. I thought the IMSA Flare was the whole fender, like a widebody versus a fender flare. like the The "GT" cars use..
  17. actually, i didnt mean to post that green car,and those flares on it are the wrong ones, the spririt garage car has em, im gonna try to find another, but before anyone suggests it, spirit garage arent the people who make them. They are also the ones on that Silver car with the CCW wheels.
  18. This one, its not the big MSa one because the big msa its rounded off, it doesnt continue down and square off.. these might be a JDM unit, does anyone know?
  19. god I love my audi.. I dont think id ever put the Z out in the rain..
  20. I was told I could use a 300zx Fuel pump, and that should work well..
  21. Right, I know that, but he holds the track record at Road Atlanta with a 1:37 flat lap. His car is a full out race car, and the cage is pretty intense. Its the Fastest E-production Z in the country. His has been bumped and broken a few times. I think he was trying to scare me, like i said, so I wouldnt "ruin" a perfectly good Z. But I figured with darius Driving all crazy all the time, ScottieGNZ aking hard passes, all the others running v8 swaps and drivign them daily and throwing them on the track, it cant be that bad, ill just put a reall nice cage in it, ill do over NHRA spec.
  22. thats in a 280, much stronger frame than the 260 and 240, I would feel a lot better if i could hear from or about a 240 or 260 z with some decent power and no problems.
