  1. If you can't get the car to idle at all you probably are not going to get it to run at a spacific A/F. Make sure the timing is calibrated to the ECM. This is one of the first things you must do after you calibrate the TPS. The biggest problem that I have seen with cars that won't run with new EFI systems is low voltage. Do you have a new battery in the car? I am not talking about a two year old battery you had charged for a hour at your auto parts store. New fresh battery please. Good luck, hope your car is kicking butt soon.
  2. I did this truck for a guy in Dallas about two years ago. Unfortunately I finished and deliverd the truck in about two weeks and had very little camara/video equipment. I regret it, I should have marketed the hell out of that truck. But there may be more pics and vids I took from my buddies shop camara. If I can find it I will post more. I did go to a meet this past weekend on Westhimer. I plan on making aot more events after I replace the motor in my ZXT. I live in the Galleria area.
  3. No I made the system from scratch. The turbos are big, but I had promised a system that can make alot of power if the costomer had the ball$ for it. The spooled very quick, GT35R ball bearing does not play. I would have liked to try one on my L28.
  4. Its not a Z but Nissan still and lots of fun to drive. I used 2.5 inch stainless to each turbo, one wastegate at each and 3 inch out going to Magnaflow mufflers exciting in front of each rear wheel, neatly blended to the running boards. The intercooler pipeing is 2.5 out of each turbo, to a 3 inch collector in to the intercooler. I used one blow off valve at each turbo and one under the hood. I made a 3 inch air intake tube that ran into the bed of the truck with two large K&N filters. I didn't want any problems with water getting sucked into the turbos or engine on this 4wd truck. The pumps a S/X. I converted the returnless regulator with a S/X regulator mounted below. Every thing whent well, the truck made 500hp at 9PSI using two GT35R turbos, 550CC injectors and Unichip programer. Good times!
  5. Actually I know all about remot turbo systems. I designed and built a twin turbo set up on a Nissan Titan. The LS engine header will be easy to do but I like your thinking.
  6. I'm not sure how a post becomes a lesson in gramer, but in my case I hope you all grade on a curve. In regards to a welded diff, a LSD from a 87 turbo car is the best street set up on a budget (if you can find one). I have one on my car but in the past have used a welded diff. It's really your only option if you don't want to spend a boat load of money, but daily driving sucks. You are going to go threw tires like mad. What makes the daily drive is the binding of the axles when the inside tire spins more then the outside on curves. I run a 235-60-15 on my stock 82 turbo wheels and the car hooks like hell, but I am only making L28 torque. Good luck!
  7. Umm I know I can make the turbo header myself, I think I would rather.
  8. What did you do for motor mounts? Very freaking cool "street car".
  9. So I have two months till my wedding, and two months till I can start putting things together for a LS swap on my 81ZXT. Some say I am a bit of a sick bastard for wanting closer to 1000hp on my street set up, but some guys just need to have a 9 second street car. That would be me. Looking at header set ups, for a N/A set up with NOS, or building a turbo header if I have to fabricate anyhow and I ran across this set up on E-bay for 01 up Camaros http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=380197798704&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT Its hard to say if something like this woud work on a ZX, if the steering would be in the way, or if the cross over is gonna work, but it may be worth looking into. If any of you guys have input on if you think it would work, I would love to hear it.
  10. So I drove 10 hours to Ft.Walton FL area to put a new head on my 81 280zx turbo. I had some issues with the crappy E-bay headgasket I sould have never bought but after waiting a few days I recived my FelPro and got the car back togeter. I replaced the Oil pump also because I expected I had a problem with the old pump that may have helped with the cam getting eatten up on the original head. Got the car running and everything seemed fine. Started my drive back to Houston when 60miles in a rod knock became a locked motor and I was stuck again! Lucky my buddy Issac Gomez from Underpressure Fabrications came threw with a trailer ride back to his shop. The car will sit a few months till after my wedding and I start to work and save some money. This is going to be a while and it gives me time to think about where this car is going to go. The peice of ♥♥♥♥ is actually in pretty good shape and I am not too deep in a whole with it so its not getting junked. My future father in law has a 94 G20 van with a 350. I know it has either a 700r4 or a 4L60E and that it is mine if I want it. I could not put the motor in stock, it would have at least a Performer RPM, cam and a converter. But I have to look at what type of heads it has, if they are Vortech or what and if it is a 4L or a 700. Lucky the fab work is not going to be a problem with Issac and I know enough to not get in over my head. The main thing is a I want to get the car to houston and have some freaking fun!!! Issac says he can get me a LQ9 real cheap also wich I would love, but I guess I am going to wait and see what the funds are like. By the way I know a stock 350 is not going to shake the world, but by the time I get this party started a turbo will probably be in the works. I am going to have a 9 second street car this year. I know too much and have enough resources to not have one. The weding and getting my degree in aircraft repair are just going to take all my attention for the next few months. But rest assured I will be out thier having fun with you guys sooner or later. Till then this is my report. Sucks to be on the side lines
  11. Tune that carb bro, you think of useing a wide band air fuel meter? I use them when I tune EFI cars but I know you can get a good idea of whats going on at cruis speeds with your carb car. I think this tool can help.
