  1. WOW!! that is pretty cool for under $200.00 bucks. I would keep any part that doesn't fall apart when you pull it off the car. Will it turn over? is there even a motor in the engine bay? take everything!!!! the ignition the shift knob the steering wheel steering rack, the pedal assembly. either way you go with it just have fun with it... Ronnie
  2. I actually found one at home depot!! don't remember the pitch but they actually had there which was pretty amazing for that place.
  3. get it over with and go with the 4-barrel kit. I have had nothing but problems with my S.U carbs from day one! I can't wait for my 390 to ship to my house in a couple days. Ronnie
  4. Man I would have loved to go on that drive. When is the next time you guys are going to meet for that cruise?
  5. You are awesome man!! I really enjoy checking your thread out from time to time because you are truly a car junky.
  6. here is a pic of my 240 all cleaned up and ready for a cruise tonight. yeah the paint doesn't shine at all but those wheels and that carbon hood with some clean windows looks pretty mean at night time LOL!!!! Ronnie
  7. Got it on the ground last week!! have only been able to drive it once because of the brake issue's i was having with this beast for a couple of days. I would love to get my MSD 6AL to work now!! anybody have any good wiring diagrams or recommendations of where to look to make this easy for me? also my tach used to work but was disconnected after I removed my MSD (it blew up a couple years back) and ow it is dead. any ideas on this? Ronnie
  8. good for you!! who care's how much money he put into that thing 10 years ago. I dont think he will sell that car anytime soon. Chances are he will be checking out the Z you decide to purchase to see how messed up his Z really is.
  9. I forgot how good it feels to drive this car!! I put it back on the ground earlier and had to look at t for a while because it had been so long since I have seen it at ground level next to another car. DAMN IT IS LOW!!!! anyway I took some pics of it on the ground. I still need to put the new camber kit from AZC and paint the poor thing. I threw in a pic of how bad it looked under there before I cleaned it all up, i think it is pretty amazing. but it will get even better over the next couple of weeks. the side shot is pretty good because you can actually see most of the powder coated red suspension and the calipers pop out from behind the wheels perfectly.
  10. It is a grant steering wheel. I picked it up from MSA like ten years ago. It is the d-shaped wheel that they used to offer back in the day when I picked up this car.
  11. I found a bullet hole in my car on the passenger floor pan!! must be from when the last owner had to work on the brakes. I think that all i need now is the MC from a 79-81 ZX and I will be good to go to the MSA show for the first time in 3 years.
  12. thanks for the links KenshinX. some good reading and some really good info on setups and recommended parts. I am going to try the 79-81 MC tomorrow!! right now the pedal throw is really far and that is one of the problems jmortesen mentioned about the 4 piston caliper upgrade.
  13. No sign of leakage from anywhere that I can see. here are my symptoms as of today's brake session. Front brakes are awesome!!! lots of fluid flowing through the bleeder with lots of force. the rear brakes are weak. pedal has to be at the floor before they grab, they are grabbing but the fronts are grabbing stronger and a lot sooner. the fluid dribbles out of the bleeders at the wheel cylinders and from the MC not strong flow like the fronts. another quick question which direction should the check valve face? the intake or the booster?? removed it and have no idea. its just sitting there now because i figure if I put it back in wrong it can keep me going in these circles. Ronnie
  14. Don't buy it!! if you are willing to spend 2k on a car just keep hunting. you will find a car that you won't regret spending your money on. I am just being honest with you because I have made that same mistake in the past. I would pay about $500 for that Z
  15. I replaced all the vacuum lines from the manifold to the booster. I have gone through 3/4 bottle of brake fluid through this painfully long process. I forgot to mention that I also upgraded the front calipers to the 4 piston toyota calipers non vented. will i need a brake proportioning valve to make this thing feel right? I am going ot take another stab at it as soon as the sun is behind my house and not directly over my Z frying my sorry ass all day.
  16. I am getting ready to put a bullet in her!!! I have a new booster new calipers new pads new drums, shoes, springs, etc etc. my pedal feels pretty solid and then it just drops. I have bled the system 4 time now and always ends up the same. front brakes have awesome power, the rear wont start to stop unti the pedal is almost to the floor. and the pedal feel is awesome but then it clunks and hits bottom sometimes. 1973 240Z what is the correct position for the booster adjustment? i have no idea on the measurements. PLEASE HELLLLP!!
  17. need help guys!! how do I adjust my drum brakes? everything is assembled on the drums, new springs pins pads. I am not sure of exactly what to look for as far as pad clearance or setting the e-brake. Will post pics of the progress when I get the brakes bled and the wheels are about to hit the driveway!! Ronnie
  18. It took a little longer then we thought it would take because of some sandin we had to do on some of the powder coated parts that needed to have some clearance for bushing sleeves and some bolts. thanks to some my buddy Brian and my new friend Will my Z is almost ready to hit the ground rolling!!! As you guys can see in the pics I only have to throw the brakes together and put the steering rack back in the car and it will be ready to take to the shop for the installation of the AZC camber plates.
  19. Hey guys come and watch me and a couple friends tear it up in my studio tonight or any night!! http://www.torqdjtv.com look for Dj Techron and please feel free to chat with us. Ronnie

  21. your car is awesome 2eight. it is simple and scary all at the same time!! love the decals makes it look like it belongs on the track all day long.
  22. This is it!!! I will have my Z back on the ground by Sunday. the only yhing left to do is mount all the suspension and bleed the brake system. I have a couple more mods to perform but i can take my time doing them once the car is able to be rolled around. I will post pics of the progress tomorrow. Ronnie
  23. Yup!! my car will have a welded cage pretty soon so I will have everything mounted properly.
