Differential Mount insulator Difference
two40zjunky replied to jas280z's topic in S30 Series - 240z, 260z, 280z
I have one for sale if you need it. I used it for about 1 month before I installed the solid mount from AZC. pm me if you want it. -
You might want to look into something called the timesert. I have been using them for a while now and prefer them over the Heli Coil method of repairing stripped threads. I have a 100% success rate of installation and it is crazy easy and fast to complete. http://www.timesert.com/html/mtrcsert.html

Dude go to Kragen Auto and ask the guy behind the counter for the hose coil that keeps hose from kinking. I was going nuts trying to make this weird angle work in the engine compartment of my E36 M3 until I found this little money saver. It cost like $5.00

So how does it sound? and please let me know if that seal you have going on for the deck help to keep the exhaust fumes from entering the cabin. this is the only thing that truly makes me not want to drive my z all the time. -

You are awesome!! I always have a fear of using parts from other makes or generic parts in general because of all the fitment issue's people run into when doing these same repairs on their own cars. it looks like you are having great luck with your project. The JC Whitney seal# 26 is an awesome find. please keep us informed on the fitment because I am in need of everything you just did to your car. Ronnie -

I almost have the cold air intake finished. I just have to take the parts down to my buddies shop and have some 4'' pipe pie cut and welded to make it fit properly in the engine bay. -
I would buy another M3 just to pull the engine out and throw it in my 240 right now!!!! I almost got rear ended a year ago in my M3 and sadly the first thing to come to mind was I wonder if i can make this engine work in my Z????? You are my hero right now for doing this

Wheel Show! Post your pics of you wheels
two40zjunky replied to k3werra's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
the wheels are Boyd Coddingtons I Had them made about 5-6 years back. it cost about $1600.00 to have them made in what ever offset or size you want. this set is 17 X 7 not sure of the offset I just don't remember and I can't find the paper work from when I ordered them. I wish I would have had them made 9" wide because I really want a wider set of wheels on the rear end f the car. Boyd will rehoop them for $300.00 a wheel but I might just have another set made for the car and keep these for backup. -

kinda dark but you get the idea. -
leave the poor car alone!! don't targa top it or add a sun roof or any other ugly hack to take away from the beauty of these cars. you might as well add some tuck and roll interior and some 14'' 100 spoke baby dayton's and pimp yo ride all proper like.

Thank you very much!! About the wheel spacing I am going to get a set of adjustable arms to push the wheels out a little more so it sits flush at the fender. Maybe get the Techno Toy Tuning arms or some other brand thats works on my car and on my pocket. -

Sooooo its been a while!! I have been busy working and working and messing with my M3 for the past couple of month's so my Z has been on the back burner. I finally bought the Holley 390 and installed the kit from ArizonaZCar.com and I absolutely love it! I had the S.U carbs out and the Holley in and running in about 2 hours total. turned the key the first time and "POW" it fired up and was almost perfect except for some quick adjustment to timing and idle speed. I have been driving it now for about 4 days and it runs so damn smooth that I question myself for waiting so long to do this to my car. Now all I have to do is finish building up my other motor and I might actually have some power to go beat up on my buddy and his worked over VW bug. -
rare blah blah blah.. it is an old car just like the rest of our old cars that are so much fun to drive!! for $1800.00 that is not bad at all. I would have picked it up no problem. at least the person that sold it to you didn't try to make a small fortune off of you, some people like to think that their Z car's are so rare and collectible trying to get 2-3k for a beat down 260Z with the story of how you can't even find parts for this car cause it was 1 of 10 Z cars brought in for Kernel Sander's to race in the KFC 500. LOL just having some fun!!
