  1. I'm going to have to pull out the [/img]http://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/images/smilies/added/bs.gif on water cooling the fuel to pervent vapor lock its not that big of a deal. Well I hope my picture works. tbs
  2. Well she'll get mad but what more important to you a family or another car?? Personally it would be cool but I would pick family. tbs
  3. OK I've seen your site when Chris Holmes told me about it, I did his wiring, any way What I saw was a few little thing I have a suggestion instead of rails and spacers hows about the idea of a new intake manifold with velocity stacks with shorter larger runners that will flow higher than stock. Or a turbo equal length exhaust header. Things like this are of valve as would be a DOHC Crossflow head for us Like the one OS Giken produced. If you want make the fuel rail run Frayion from the A/C system that will cool it off the best. But if I remember the reason for vapor lock was that the fuel temp increased to a sertian point, it was because of the length of the stock rail being about a mile long. I've never had vapor lock even on the stock rail and I got that car really hot, a little too hot and it ran just fine. It's just a suggestion I hope that you will concider it. tbs
  4. I looked through the post but I didn't see Hawk ECM anywhere and for 600 USD from the place down under thats not bad. But I would like to talk to someone that has built a mega squirt as a few questions. tbs
  5. bernardd thank you for your help and please keep me posted on your work. tbs
  6. Bernarrd so what is required to changed the valves on the high octane fuel maps? can I just use the 3d graph editor or what calcuations do I have to use to compute the new data? tbs
  7. sleeper I'm suprised you didn't go with a Z32 MAF they flow up to 500hp and are the better choice until you get into the problem of restriction in the intake. I know what you did and that was a guess and check method of bringing in unmettered air to the system, personlly I like the idea but I don't have a way of making a new mass housing. I'm trying to find out what values need to be changed to allow for larger injectors, I'll need to look at the HEX files to determine the four digit sequence. tbs
  8. Hey bernardd I know you sent me the hex file along time ago for the z31 could you email the files again so I can look at the hex so I can find the values I need to use larger injectors? Also to change my fuel maps can I just change them in the 3d graph editor and then save changes? would that do the trick or not? tbs
  9. I've got an N-47 I'll let it go for cheap. tbs
  10. What is the cc value for the stock turbo injectors? tbs
  11. bernardd I forgot to ask you how did your first reprogram perform for you? tbs
  12. hey Bernardd how do I add rpm's to this data? It only goes to 6000in one and 5600 in the other one. Also if I have any problems can you help me along with this if I can't figure them out? also jt240z for the password you must request one and then it's sent to you through email. tbs
  13. well I'm hopping to try this out I have a friend in a computor company that is the owner and I'm going to try this out and see what happens on an extra ecu. tbs
  14. I don't understand whats wrong with Hex? Is it harder then the other way or does it just make programing more difficult? From what I saw that the programing looks to be indepth but thats no big deal I've looked at this before it's not like the easy way of just using maps and ajusting them but rather calcuating equations and looking over to see what code to type in. I would like to try it on a junk ecu but I would like to know if this is all I need to make it work? tbs
  15. ok I was doing a search on the net and found an R31 skyline page about reprogaming that ecu and there was a run through on that page and that the Z31 and R31 euc are the same except the z31 has a detonation sensor. On this site I do belive that the person give all the information to reprogram a Z31 ecu! I'm hopping that this information can be used by someone and that we can start getting these things reprogramed for larger injectors. Here's the site: http://imflame.ricetek.net/~darkhalf/ tbs
  16. Ok I understand that you think that this will be the best route to go but to do this properly you'll need to have a plate proboly aluminunm that you can torque the heads down on. also you'll need to get the aluminunm tested to see what kind of alloy it is to get the propper welding rod, it will need to be heated to about 400-500 degrees, welded, reheat treated, and stress relieved. Ok I've asked an mechanical engieere and this is what he told me that I would have to do to make it work. If this doesn't work then I'm going to try and mold a crossflow 12 valve SOHC head and build it using all of nissan stock valve train, cam,and everything eles except the intake manifold. Let me know how this turns out if it works then I'll take on for myself. tbs
  17. crap then that won't work, I guess it will have to be custom build for the L6 engines. tbs
  18. yah but was that head for the RB30 chain or belt? If it's chain then I'm in bussiness for an easy swap. tbs
  19. sleeper what have you done to your efi since last we talked it sounds like you changed some things. tbs
  20. I would like to see some pics of this head and maybe this will work for us. tbs
  21. First I asked around to some Engeerres and I was told that the diffaculty of welding two KA24E's together would not be avised and they had the same worry that I orignialy had that they would crack. It could be done but it would be to difficult and risky to do. Also the RB20 was the better one to use on this application because of pricing the RB26 I was quoted a price of 2400USD shipped while a RB20 cost about250AUD+shipping, thats partly where I'm trying to split some cost down. But even to make a chain work with that head looks to be a trip on it's own Because of where the last cam holder is. So for now I'm going to have to find out more infomation on this and maybe I can machine out two halfs and have a good shop weld them togther at less curitcial point like the sides and top. I really did want to use the RB20 if anyone has any suggestions on how to make a chain or a belt work in our motors and set up an oil pump it would be a big help. tbs
  22. sorry but the 432 will not bolt up. and is extremely rare. I retract my last statement on the KA24E idea could work sounds promising i will look into it. if not im going RB20 or complete custom with skyline valve train. tbs
  23. I did a little more research and I found that the stock heads worp in the middle and to weld two KA24E heads together there wouldn't be the best chioce because yes you are welding them together and making them stronger but your taking the flexability out of the head making it more rigid and more prone to cracking in that region, I maybe wrong it could work out just fine and the head won't crack but I don't want put all that work into a head and have it crack down the middle. Also to line them up and make sure that they are dead on perfect would be a task if there not and there just milled down then other cylinders would have different compression due to cc's on that side of the head. I remember watching a show on airplanes and it was on TLC and the next super sonic jet to come out they tried to weld the winds and in testing the all broke right around the weld. So they invented new ways of welding that fiction welds the two billets together bonding there molicules and leaving flexability intact. I thought that I should get this out here so people can understand that so far I've looked at every angle except for the mercaides head, or finding an LY head. I looked at RB26,RB25,RB20,2JZ,KA24E,older supra heads, hacking up our stock heads, complete custom design and new casting of a run. From what I've looked at I like the RB20 the best or the custom build but I want to take and make this a lost cost as possible. Thus the RB20 but I did even think about taking it to Eldroblock and having them produce it when it's done, now that would work if I can convice them to make one if I give them a working model. Sorry for the long post. tbs
  24. Hey Mack I looked into that and even if I make them a design they'll still change it around a little for casting and then it still cost about 15000 for the first. So I figure that i can relocate some passages on an RB20 for less and make the head work and will be easily justified. tbs
