cylinder head molding prossess
turbobluestreak replied to turbobluestreak's topic in 6 Cylinder Z Forums
sounds great guys on the styrofoam idea. Also for to do it in surpa parts I would have to have them on me to do this and I don't if anyone has some junk just setting there and would donate it or sell it for cheap I'll remember who has helped me with this prosses and make sure that it pays off in the end for them. As of now I was thinking hydrolic lifters like the 300zx twin turbos used also thinking about a vtec option that could be used if a person would set up a z32 ecu on there car. But I don't want to get into that as for now I'm trying to do the unthinkable and creat one twin cam head. Please let me know if anyone can do sand casting or knows where I can get it. tbs -

also I can't forget about a matching exhaust. From what I understand the molds are iterth destroed or damaged thus they could remake them bolt but maybe something else, if this doesn't work then I'm going to just enginer my own and I found a company that can cast the for 600 each but I will need some one to sand mold it I can deffintly machine it out but I need some one to mold it. Is there any one that can help? If all goes good then one protype will be made and from there on out I will test it and see how it preforms. I can't do this alone and will need help to get the project done. tbs -
Ok I need a big favor from someone I just got a fax back from OS Giken about the 24 valve twin cam cylinder head, it might be reproduced but they wanted me to come and talk with them and I can't do that because I live here in OHIO but on the 24-27 the president of OS Giken will be at booth 3608 his name is Okazaki, he wanted to talk with me about this head and I'm asking of anyone that can go out there and procue the any further than what I can. So in realiaty this is a favor for all of us z fans as it would possibly bring back the OS Giken TC24-B1 cylinder head for our L6 motors. Please can anyone help out? tbs

everyone thank you for the advise and shuyun I'll be giving him a call about helping with this head. Also I've already got a company set up to build the first protype. I hope this all goes well so we can all enjoy a DOHC L6 Zcar. I'm going to mutalate my junk P79 tonight after I work on my car, so I can get an idea for water jackets and how the head was lubercated. I'll let you all know how it goes. I know cost will be high to get one made but after one is done I'll market them to us all. tbs -

But thats how foundies cast heads with sand and then machine it out to be used in our cars. tbs -
I've got to ask some one to get some anwsers I've tried every thing searching on the internet talking to various companies and still nothings. I need to know how to mold and cast a cylinder head because I'm sure I can design one and do all the machining while in my college class but I need to know the molding process for the water jackets and oil passages. and I'm hopping to venture in to doing this for greater performance for the nissan L6 series motor. I've been inspired by the OS Giken tc24-b1 and I won't let anyone piss on my barbecue and stop me from reaching my goal of marketing a 24 valve DOHC head to the z public. Any help in my quest would be apriated and greatly valued. tbs

I'm so suprised but I found this on the net and craped my pants. Designed for turbo applications that require greater flow capacity. The increased flow offer a gain in boost pressure, boost response, a broader powerband and an increase in overall peak power. Average gain of 10 to 25 horsepower. Fits 280ZX 1981 to 1983 only. check it out only 382.99 for a complete system thats not bad considering jeffps cost I think 800-900 for his and will give you about 20 hp increase heck this system is close to that and for a lot less http://www.ultimatez.com/shop/index.php?shop=1&cat=141&cart=63539 tbs

Need help, exhaust stud broken off in head.
turbobluestreak replied to a topic in 6 Cylinder Z Forums
be careful if you don't use a carbide bit in a drill press or a laythe you'll destroy the tip just like that. My suggestion is that you take the head off and put it under a drill press and go slow, very slow maybe under 2000rpm the don't like heat or speed. speed=heat which unsolders the tip and bam no more carbide. It will take you proboly 4-6 hours if not more and DON'T FORGET THE CUTTING OIL. I used desile and oil mix worked great. Be safe and I wish you the best of luck, let us know when you get it drilled out. tbs -
would an apexi afc work on a first gen 300zx ecu??
turbobluestreak replied to turbobluestreak's topic in Fuel Delivery
thanks bud for the help also I need to know where did you wire pin 6 to in your harness I don't know where to put it and never hooked it up. tbs -
I was looking at the wiring diagrams for the afc's and All you need to run it is power ground air flow signal rmp signal throttle signal so I know where all are but the throttle signal and I'm not sure where the rmp signal is but I know it's there. So what could I do for the throttle signal to make this work?? tbs

I had one of those to in my turbo right where the downpipe bolts up at. Talk about a job hours of drilling with a carbide bit and I poped what was left of the EZout out. I'm convenced that just drilling out some dumb bolt is faster then the EZout. tbs -
I need a part# for stroker turbo pistons, JE or?
turbobluestreak replied to a topic in 6 Cylinder Z Forums
If your going to try a stroker build up you should read this first. In fact everyone should read this. http://www.zhome.com/rnt/3.1HanveyProject.htm tbs -
I was just wondering if I could get a supra fuel rail to fit my zxt. tbs

it sounds like you should have gotten oversized rings and then would have filed down the rings on the sides to get them to the right gap. I will tell you that for sure that your ring gap is to excessive because thats where mine was and I burned oil and lost compression in the sixth cyclinder so I'm ordering oversized rings and doing just as my Factory service manuals tells me to do, oversize then file down the rings to fall with in specs. I hope this helps you out. tbs

turbobluestreak replied to Mudge's topic in 6 Cylinder Z Forums
how on earth are you having so much trubble I always get mine off of my zxt with the oil cooler attachment. I also don't have the dumb blower and I have different oil cooler lines that runs to a second gen turbo rx7 really big no oil temp problems at all. I just reach down in there and get it out. tbs
