    I was wondering how we download our private messages to our computers with the new layout.

    I have not seen an option in this software to do that... it sucks. I know that it has been discussed with the devolpers to be included in the new version.

     

    Also, any reason they were cut down so much with the change? I had cut it down to 100 withing a few hours after the change so I could still get PMs, but I just realized that it got cut down to 50 between then and now.

    During the conversion of the data to the new software, I got to wait for 2 hours while the PM messages were converted over and 4 hours for the photo albums to convert... non-donating members use about 90% of the resources on our site.

    But there is a fix.

    Donating members get a HUGE PM box and allot of other bonuses.

    I'm with Kiwi303 - the new version takes considerably longer to load. I am using Internet Explorer 6.0, and access the internet via a Verizon Wireless USB modem.

     

    Also, several of my recent attempts to post have resulted in nought; my message simply disappeared into the ether.

    At work we are forced to use IE6 and it is painfully slow to load the site. I tested it using IE8 and Chrome and it is significantly faster. I suggest Chrome.

    I feel really stupid what you just said is already technical to me :(. I have hand full of pictures on page 1&3 of my build thread still not coming up and sad thing is that my girlfriend is software programmer but she is in Alabama right now... I am moving this weekend so I guess when I get home she will have to show me what to do lol. Stupid out :D

     

    Should be better now. I hope.

    I don't remember the error code, but all seems well, with that anyway.

     

    I just tried to send you a pm and it said you were unable to recieve any new messages?

     

    I know you guys are still debugging this new layout, keep up the good work.

    Ill take care of it. Could you give me a date when you donated? or at least the month?

    LOL, no worries about the techie BS. I am pretty sure I know what the problem is and I will work on it this afternoon when I get home from work.

    So I am trying to uplaod some pictures for my build thread but now I am getting this message "[#10768] Sorry, but you have reached your total allowable album size". I know that on old site there was no limit on how many pictures you could have so my question is has that been changed? Thanks guys

    As a donating member you should have unlimited space, Ill take a look.

    I notice I have "Warn Status" and a status bar under my name and have not noticed it on anyone else. Am I under probation or something? I own a Z again so I am no longer a stepchild. biggrin.gif

    You can only see your own warn status and no one else's. And since your little bar has no red in it you have nothing to worry about biggrin.gif

    I searched but didn't see anything relevant... Would it be possible to implement trader ratings where people can rate transactions with each other?

    If you find an app for it let me know. I have been looking for an add on but so far nothing.

    I saw the new content link, but it includes all kinds of stuff besides posts. Is there a way to just view posts?

    Select only the Forums tab in the displayed results and resist the temptation to click any of the other ones.

    Hello - am I missing something obvious? I don't see a way to just "view new posts since last visit" or "view new posts from the last 24 hours."

    User CP change:

    Search Settings

     

    • View New Content Method

    Then click the link in the upper right corner called View New Content

    or, down the page just below the forum list is a link called Today's active content

    While I am at it, is there any way to have a feature where clicking on links just opens a new tab or new page. It seems with the new layout everytime I click a link I am taken away from the forum. Any insight is appreciated. Thanks!

    Can the site color scheme be changed? I am not asking you to do it. Just asking if it can be done, and a can poll be taken to chose a color scheme. BTW not fond of the maroon/grey. I actually prefer the blue green when I am not logged in. Much more relaxing smile.gif but I will respect whatever decisions you make....or can it be changed in my profile on a user basis?

    Im a little confused, are you saying that you are unable to change your them using the drop down list in the lower left of the page?

    Check and see how many PMs you have. The new limit is 100 and the old was 250. You could be over the new limit even though you were under the old.

    And the limit for Donating Members is 1500, I'm just saying...

    I am having issues viewing attachments as well, the error message is all that shows up. A member tried to sned me a pm, and it showed that I was unable to recieve new messages. I tried to send a couple myself and got the same thing back.

     

    I am not complaining, just wanted to make the problems known.

     

    I appreciate all of the hard work in getting the new layout going.

     

    What was the error message and did it give you a error code like [#10323] ?

    Not sure if there is an option to do that or not. I will take a look.

    To be honest, there are SO many settings in this new software I am still trying to learn what everything does. biggrin.gif

    Ok, I found a work around for this.

    The problem is the way you guys embedded your image links into the posts.

    Without getting technical, there is a redirection script that is supposed to point those links to your new album pictures but it will not work because you used the real link directly to the pictures. I noticed that some of my links are broken also :)

     

    Anyways, I will restore the old pictures later today so that they will show up in your posts again.

    But please note that you should probably change those links when you have some spare time to the new links in your new photo album as you no longer have access to update, remove, add etc to the old location.

    PM Issue

    All of my 500+ PM's are all marked as new. Is this something that the member needs to go back and mark them as read because of the transition? Or a bug that is being worked on?

    An unfortunate side effect of the conversion.

    I had to go and manually mark all of mine as read, 1500 PM's took about 5 minuets to do.

     

    Also most of the PM's from other members (like EvilC, zcarnut etc..) in place of their name now says Deleted Member.

    Hmmm... I think I know what that problem is, Ill take a look at it later today.
