  1. I feel your pain Harrison... I am 5+ years in, but I am VERY close to the initial startup. A long and winding road to this point... I will post a "Build Story" at some point in the near future, but here is a teaser... Mild build LT1, Hughes Performance 4L60e, 3k Precision Stall, 3:90 R200 (originally built for 2.8 and 5 speed - we'll see...), 2001 Z28 tank, new floors, custom rocker panel inner frame rails, Bad Dog frame rails and subframe connectors, 4 point street bar, blah, blah, blah... All welded in and powdercoated, undercoated or painted. Tim
  2. Thanks! I already called Tabco and Mill Supply. Nothing available - backorders for 2-3 months. I expect the same from MSA, but I will call them and find out. Might get lucky... Thanks Tuse! Sending you an email now... This might be an option of you do not have the same rust that I have. I also need a chunk of the left side outer dogleg that covers the rocker area. This might work out well. Thanks again! Tim
  3. Hi all - I am looking for a set of repair panels for the outer wheelhouses on my 1971 240. THese are the inner esctions thar surround the wheel and attach to the outer quarter panel wheel arch. Pic attached for example. If available, please reply or shoot me a PM with price to Colorado Springs. PayPal available immediately. Thanks, Tim
  4. No pans, but I have a brand new set of the frame rails that install underneath the pans if you need them. I am installing new Bad Dog rails and do not need the OEM units. $70 shipped to lower 48 - just let me know. Thanks, Tim
  5. PM sent. I have a new set of ZG's available. Can do $125 shipped - let me know. Tim
  6. PM sent - I also have a few complete taillight harnesses available. Thanks, Tim
  7. Hi all - I have a new set of fiberglass ZG flares that I would like to trade for a similar condition BRE style or Classic style rear spoiler. Looking for the small 1 piece type. Purchased these from eBay about 6 months ago. Perfect "As New" condition. Never mounted. Same seller and materials as detailed here: http://www.ebay.com/...=item20c0f47f0a They seem to be well built and look like they would take minimal work to make a very nice paint surface. Please let me know if interested. Thank you, Tim
  8. Thanks zcrazy - PM sent. Not really after a full cage, but it may be an option. Any others? Thanks, Tim
  9. Hi all, I am in the process of replacing the floors before I do the LT1 install and figure that I can do the roll bar while I am at it. Looking for a 4 point street bar or similar. Paint and appearance do not matter as long as it is straight. Will get new powdercoating regardless. No big rush here - I still hav a few weeks before the floors will be done. Please reply or shoot me a PM if you have one available. Thank you, Tim
  10. Not only are they restrictive, but if you backfire through the carb and burn the filter up, it will suck all of burnt crap into the engine. Won't do much, but it can't be good...
  11. SWEEEEETTT!!! Congrats on maiden tire burning voyage! I don't have an EFI harness in mine (thankfully!). I hope I don't have any wiring issues. I hate electrical stuff! Luckily, I have a buddy that is going to help me with the harness and another one that is a programming genius! If I tried to for this myself, you could almost bet that there would be smoke signals! Congrats again. I hope mine is running by the end of June. Pretty optomistic, but we'll see. Tim
  12. Thanks Davy. I am trying to do it right. I have that "while I am this far, I may as well do everything else under here" syndrome! I've actually had the car for about 3 years, but did not REALLY dig into in until the last 12 months. Have made good progress during that time. On a side note - there was a box from Stealth Conversions at my front door today. I wonder what that might be??? Hey Nathan - I was able to get the floor pans! Thanks for the motivation! He is now parting the car out and will make some extra $$ for doing so.
  13. Thanks on the dash. My neighbor came by last night and said "Finally gave up and bought a new one, huh?"... I am fitting the 3 gauges now. The Speedhut tach and speedo will be here in a few days. I saw the 240 on CL. Can use the pans, but not the car. I'll call him and ask. Thanks! Thanks 310Z! I've been lurking for a long time, but just pulled the "Hybrid" trigger a couple of weeks ago. I have been learning about this car as I go. Everything is so simple and logical! I am having a blast with it so far - one of these days, I might actually drive it! Thanks, Tim
  14. Quick update... V8 swap kit will be here Tuesday - then off to the powder-coater on Wednesday (along with a bunch of other stuff!). Going to start going through all of the LT1 stuff tomorrow to see what else I need. I have nearly everything for the swap. Got some time to work on the dash today. I am VERY happy with the results! Finished all of the body work and applied the SEM Texture coating. It went on pretty dry and I had to knock it down with some 400 grit. It ended up with a very nice texture! Then applied 3 coats of SEM "Presidio Gray" Flexible Color Coat. It has a really nice color and will look great with the all black gauges and bezels. The entire interior is changing to gray. I will post a "Dash Resto" post in the interior section when it is done and installed.
  15. Nope - not going with stock gauges. I like them, but everything else is being upgraded, so I decided to change them out. But, the JTR TPI/TBI book has good info. They also sell the tail shaft setups that can be used if needed. Prices are good. Go to this link and you can actually get to the chapter that talks about the VSS stuff. http://www.jagsthatrun.com/Pages/Chevrolet_TPI_TBI_V-8.html
  16. L6 drivetrain went away today. $1600 cash in hand. Will call JTR tomorrow. Once I get all of the JTR parts, everything will go to the powdercoater. JTR kit, intake, oil pan, brackets, TC cover, etc. Have to get underneath and clean everything. Debating on floor pans... Now or later??? Mine are not terrible, but they are not great. I want to do the pans and Bully Dog rails at the same time. But, I REALLY want to drive this car this summer. I am thinking that I can do the pans and rails next winter. Looking for a decent street roll bar for a decent price. This will be in the car before it is on the road. And so it begins... Edit: The little white lines in the picture are snow flakes. Yep - still snowing in Colorado Springs on May 1st. Gotta love the Rocky Mountains!
  17. Hi all, I am looking for the tube section detailed below. It is the piece that connects via the flange to the back of the driver's side dash vent. All of my other pieces are fine. Please let me know if you have one available. Shipping to 80920. Thanks, Tim
  18. I like the wing on THAT CAR! I'm not too sure how I would feel about it on a "mildly" modified car (ZG's, etc...), much less a car with stock body lines and limited tire width. I am thinking that it might be a bit too much "Fast and Furious" for me. It sits pretty high. 240zstroked - What are you planning for your car? Does anybody have any Photoshop skills?
  19. Thanks John! There was a MINT set of these at the Colorado Springs Pick & Pull yard a couple of weeks ago. Almost bought them, but I have too much crap as it is! I am having a blast working on this car! LT1 install begins in 2 weeks! The car is a mess right now! Dash is out and I am refinishing it. Entire interior is changing to gray - you can see some of it on the wheelwell in the pic above and on the A-Pillars below. Carpet is spread all over the place. Seats are back out of the car. Blah, blah, blah... I am going to leave the dash out until I have the LT1 wiring harness in the car. Once the dash is in, a couple of good solid weekends and the interior will be looking good! Here is what it looks like now!
  20. Same seats as JHM... Not good shots, but you get the idea. I did not have the same issues mounting them. I used the Prekude brackets. I drilled a new set of holes, added a couple of spacers and installed with new Grade 8 bolts. They do sit very tight in the car between the trans tunnel and scuff plates, but I have full fore-aft movement. VERY comfortable and plenty of adjustability. Slightly higher in front than stock, but I have a smaller "D" shaped Grant now wheel anyway. Who knows "long term", but I am happy with them now... Everything is filthy in the car now (body work), but they clean up very nicely. Tim
  21. Yeah - making progress... I finally had the L6 drivetrain done and decided to go ahead with the LT1 swap. I had a guy that wanted to trade me a 96' Vette for my Impala and I just could not do it! I said "screw it"! I will build my own hot rod 2 seat sports car! http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php/topic/99720-well-time-to-join-the-hybrid-z-generation/
