Ok, so today I went to the local pick-apart to look for some interior parts and I see this volvo with a giant "intercooled" badge on it so bascily I decided to grab the IC before someone else might.... anyway, just how good are these ICs? I got it for 50, did I get ripped off? I filled it with water and the sucker doesn't have a single tiny leak!! Are there any known problems with this FMIC? How good is it compared to some other FMICs, (and I'm not talking about the $300-500 super-duper ones) thanks for any tips.

ok, basicly, I won't be able to start on my L28 turbo project untill the summer's over, so meanwhile, I'm gonna get everything set straight, shop around for good deals, and try to save up some $$$ for the swap. my question is: What are some good books you guys would recommend to read?

I don't know how you would remove them with a 3/8, because I remember how I had to use a pipe a couple feet long just to begin turning those bolts! anyhow, good luck, and yeah, read the manual, it will tell you the order.

A while ago, I bought the whole stock 260Z A/C system (presumably working) but I really have no idea where all those parts go! I called around the Houston area, and everyone seems to be asking about 500-600 just for the install. Is that reasonable? My question is: how hard is it to install??? Is there a book or a manual i can get? Maybe someone has some pictures, or a help file?? one thing i know for sure i wont ever do is take out an A/C system from ANY car... maybe, just maybe a fellow Hybridz'er can hook me up with some better prices??? thanks for any help.

I haven't emailed the guy yet but the website is dead. By the way, his car is in the book "Z car - a Legend In Its Own Time," thats how I reckognized it! Do you think he used a fiberglass front end from JC or is that his own? Whatever it is it looks killer!

does anybody have any more pictures of the Primadonna Z? (the beautiful white Z with the huge wing) I have tried searching the net but found ZERO info on it...

i changed the fuel gas sender unit (looks like a toilet float) and after I securely (or so i thought) installed the new working one into place, I went to fill up. next thing i know, i see gas spilling out, but it stopped once it got to about 3/5th. what can i do about this? Where can i buy a seal or how can i make one? I have tried bending the edges of the metal 'cap' and even tried using a sealer but i know i need to start all over and do it right. (but what is the right way????????) thanks for any help...

what exactly do you mean??? can you give me the exact direction where this bastard is? is it on the right or left at least? all my switches are being 'relocated' so i can't go by that... i'll try to find it again tommorow.

Whenever I start up the car, I can clearly hear a tiny but persistant beeeep beeeep noise coming from the dashboard... what can this be? its not really a big problem but its just something I want to get rid off! Any idea of where that bastard speaker is? I have no idea of where to even begin looking...

I basicly want some vents to cool the car better when it idles. (Houston traffic!) Terry- Did you notice a huge difference in the cooling after doing that large vent? (totally awesome by the way) Where would be the most effective areas of making smaller cut outs? I'm planning on buying another hood from a junkyard so i wont have any messups with mine. Also, having air scoops would be awesome, but I'm gonna take it one step at a time....

Im trying to find some pictures/info about custom scoops, cowls, cutouts, etc. etc. any pics or ideas? what would look good on a early Z (with a whaletale if that helps..) thanks for any input!

I still can't see the pictures... and I tried that copy and paste thing.. what gives? I was planning on making my own grill sometime after I finish the interior and I would love to see what other folks have done. is there any way you can re-post them? stupid computers...

thanks alot, i did that and its ALOT better! in the proccess tho, i accidently broke a knob for one of the choke lines (i have them mounted separatley for some reason...) oh well, the z warms up alot faster now and runs better too (no coughing), thanks a bunch!

i am getting very tired of replacing the fuses for my rear lights, they blow out about once every two-three weeks. the gauge lights sometimes work, but mostly dont. sometimes they start flcikering, very dim and get brighter and brighter, but the next day - nothing! what in the world is causing all this??? also, my little lamp light used to work and now - well its messed up along with the rest of these SOBs... can anyone tell me how to go about trying to fix this? also, my tach jumps around like crazy sometimes... any ideas on how to trace the cause of this annoying problem???? please help!

yes, of course i use the chokes, i dont think i have any water passages tho. i fixed the problem the half assed way - raised my idle to about 1600 but its not a good fix at all and the noise is annoying. Anybody got any ideas on whats wrong? is there a way to change the choke settings or how it affects the carbs?

guys, how can i make my 2 S.U.s be more warm up friendly?? once the car warms up (have to push on the gas pedal every once in a while or it dies), it runs very strong, but warming up, its a real *****! i just finished turning my carbs, and they're synced... any suggestions/ideas on how to improve the warm up proccess, or at least make it so the car doesnt die without hitting the gas pedal every 10 seconds????

i have searched everywhere and found zero info about this possible swap... has anybody tried this? what kind of transmition do the 4.2/4.0 jeep engines hook up to? a T-5? if anyone has heard about this being done, please tell me what you know. thx.

anybody got usefull tips on their favorite performance mod fot the SUs? i gotta do something before the big race...(2002 sentra spec-v) Will sanding down and sharpening the butterfly and the bt shaft help? what about any other mods that help to increase SUs performance? any cheapo 'last minute' speed tricks out there? thx alot!

has anybody seen these hoods? i havent been able to find a single picture of them... cowl induction hoods i am talking about the "3-1/2" and the "4-3/4." any pictures or suggestions??? does anyone have these on their Z??? thx.

johnc: what do you mean when you say "index it using the Moroso washer kit part # 71910"? what do u mean by 'indexing'?? how would that raise the compression ratio? (safely?) thx for the tips.

ok guys, i took my spark plugs and used some sandpaper to get the crud off of them, car runs better now, but i was wondering: who has had good luck with what spark plugs in their L motors? any outstanding, good brands i should try to get?
