Pics would be great. I need to replace the weatherstripping on my 77 and if I can save some bucks in the process all the better.

I'm considering this setup for my 77 and I'm curious as to how difficult the installation process was.

Deals can be found if you look around enough. Smaller shops are probably your best bet. Most of the bigger shops are too busy with easy insurance money to care that much about older cars and rust repair. In this economy there are good painters with little work. I had mine done by a small shop twenty minutes from my house for 2600 with all Dupont material. Not show car quality but looks great for a street driven car.

Warren is correct. It only takes a very slight difference in the keyway and it is not always visible to the naked eye.

Hard to see details in night photos but it looks pretty good. Cars as old as ours are always going to be something of a pain as daily drivers.

6 mil or 9 mil plastic should be fine.

As long as its for parts then I would buy it. If you're looking for a project car I would think that in your part of the country you could find a virtually rust free shell within reasonable driving distance.

Caught this thread a little late but if anyone has key problems I used to be a locksmith and I'm pretty familiar with the first and second gen Z's locking mechanisms. I'd be happy to help if I can.

This car pops every once in awhile with someone who loves the front airdam or fender flares. (And rightly so) I think it was determined that the front air dam was a custom build, but I'm not sure about the flares.

I'll have to check with my bodyshop guy for the paint code I'm not sure which one it was. All the materials were Dupont. The match is pretty good. He sprayed the jambs and hatch so the only spot thats still original is the engine compartment. I'll try to snap a couple of shots of it. Good luck with the swap. I toyed with it but with the low miles on mine a didn't want risk it so I decided to build a 77 280 and swap in a turbo engine.

I picked up this 77 280Z for $250 after it sat in a garage untouched for twelve years. Some rust but nothing fatal. Currently planning on a turbo swap and flares. I ran out of garage space, but a new garage is starting construction next week. I'll start a build thread when it finally gets going next month. Still dusty even after a trip on the interstate on an open trailer. Interior isn't too bad. After washing She looked good after the wash, but in all honesty the picture makes look better than she is.

It's a MSA Type 1. I didn't want a body kit but the stock air dam had been dinged and had started to rust. This one allowed me to replace the damaged one and keep the original body lines. My bodyshop guy said that the MSA one lined up perfectly and was a breeze to install.

Finally out of the body shop. Try to ignore the huge piles of dirt, next week they should be shaped into the pad for my new garage. In the meantime it looks like I'm testing live explosive ordinance.

I guess it depends on the dealership. I paid right at 300 each for mine. It all depends on the fit quality you need. My car is an all original two owner with low miles so OEM quality was important to me. If I replaced the fenders on my 77 280Z that has a ton of miles and many owners, I would probably go a cheaper route.
