  1. I built my dana cheap and it don't flex period. less resistance than a 9 inch also..I paid150 for a 4x4rear 4.10gear, 200.00 to narrow with big bearings and 8.8 brake housing ends, 510.00 for spool ,35 spline axlesand bearings . I think 860.00 for a race quality rearend that I could put in a 700 hp 4000 pound car will survive well under my z. If street driving is desired then a different locker would be needed but they can be found .
  2. I'm glad things are going to work out for you. If your sister ever comes to fla. have here stop by...My house needs a new door and a paint job also.
  3. glad she wasn't driving a truck or a snow plow..
  4. The dana 60 is the cheapest to build and you will never break it. stock gears are fine and there are many options for brakes depending on housing ends you choose. There are no issues on welding like the 8.8 (another popular choice) and it fits with minor frame mods.the large crossmember will need to be trimmed and ad a support right above it.. Cheap and easy.
  5. I think that buying a strut tube is a smart thing to do ,but ...are you going to let that thing beat you? You have brought a new light to this site.ps try a small hole in the bottom of the tube, not cart. the will relieve pressure, allow penatrating oil insertion and victory over that rusted thing.
  6. Did you tighten the front tighter than normal ride hight?
  7. 400.00 for a running car here in fl is good. had my first project car at 14 and loved it.It was a 1963 chevy 2. Did a v-8 swap in that also..
  8. if your going to keep the undertray can I use it for a pattern. I am trying to streamline wy undercarrage.. rick
  9. Where did that wing come from? I want it... If anybody knows I would like to hear about it. Thanks
  10. I am building a 1978 280z I bought with a 305,t-5 and a r200. I ran 13s till i broke the rear stubb axle.i currently have a 525-550hp 383 with a glide and narrowed dana with spool and 4.10 gears. my problem is going with ladderbars that I can make fit somewhat easy and affordable (end-o-buget) or back halve with 4 link. ?the 4 link i believe is better but the fit seams to be to long even with round tube and axle moved back an inch or two. Can I use custom rods that are shorter or will that make adjusting to hard?
  11. I will get a picture of my new 15x9 with 5 1/2 inch bs weld draglites ,28x 9 mt slicks on tommorrow. raised sping perch 2 in and cut heavy springs 3in to try and make halfshafts level.ran them one time before lowering car (cut sprimgs) and did fine. second time after burnout enjoyed pushing car from line with clunk clunk of u joints. gotta love making things work just hate learning the hard way
