280Z Restomod Progress
MattMatthewZ replied to dmoralesbello's topic in S30 Series - 240z, 260z, 280z
Awesome job! That paint color is gorgeous. I gotta say....those door panels are the bees knees! -
Its been awhile since i've been on here. I ended up getting a set of 15x8 et0 Rota RKRs and 205/55 Dunlops. I like the look of the meatier tire much better.

Sorry for the late response but the motor ended up costing close to $9k without shipping costs. But that included tuning and the carb setup.

Thank you!

Good to know, thanks!

Thank you and good luck on your build!

Thank you. I have BC coilovers and 16x7 Konig Rewinds with 205/50 tires. I may be switching to a 15x8 with 225/50 tires to get a little more meaty tire.

Ive tried the ones from Black Dragon and theyre garbage. Try eBay for some OEM ones or these: http://www.datsunstore.com/rack-boot-7081-concourse-p-974.html

Thanks! I got them at MSA

I haven't put a lot of miles on them yet but they feel pretty good. Lots of adjustability. It rides a little stiffer than the Eibach springs, but not bouncy. Just feels "sportier"

18 - 20 gauge weldable steel, the entire body was media blasted. I covered the floor areas with a rust encapsulator from Eastwood (similar to POR15). Then it was primered and painted.

Thanks Terse, I've definitely surpassed my $20k budget. I just finished the rears and starting on the fronts today.
-
That coating looks great!
-
Sorry my bad,I had to double check. 4kg rear and 5kg front spring rates.
-
Received my BC coilovers. I went with 4kg rate in rear and 5kg in front. Should be a nice smooth ride.
-
Installed my front end. Xenon uerethane airdam and 240 fiberglass bumpers BC coilovers are on there way!
