  1. Well I pulled out the injectors today with plans on sending them out for testing and cleaning. Looks like 2 of them leak, the ports under 2 of them I pulled out are soaked with fuel and I haven't had the car running in a few days. Guess there's not much point in testing them now. Osidetiger has a set of Bosch high impedance 11mm 440cc injectors for $224.95. Think I'll be going that route.
  2. I forgot to mention I did pinch the return line. Pressure goes up quick and starts to rock the fuel rail away from the injectors. So I don't think I've got a starving issue. Leak down really isn't an issue as I typically have my fuel pump switched to come on as soon as you turn the key to on. This isn't a daily driver. I also removed the vacuum line and plugged the intake, holding at 31psi. I took it for a ride, still leans out but not quite as bad.
  3. Well what I've found is that when I start it up cold, it will hold 30/37 vac on/off. As soon as it warms up it drops to 20/30psi. If I shut the engine off hot but leave the fuel pump running (I have it on a switch) it will jump back up to 30/37. Start the engine and it goes back down to 20/30. The only difference between now and pre lean issue is I installed a pressure gauge. One of those liquid filled mashall gauges. My walbro is mounted just about flush with the bottom of the tank and I've got about 2/3 of a tank. With the engine warmed up after running a while the pump stays cool to the touch. Return line is only a little warm. I ordered an aeromotive universal 1:1 afpr. Should be here tomorrow.
  4. Finally got around to getting a gauge on my pallnet fuel rail. Currently there's a walbro 255 and the stock turbo FPR and stock fuel lines. Back when I first put the gauge on it was still pretty chilly out and at idle I had about 30psi and 35-37 with the vacuum line disconnected. Now today was about 77 degrees and I took it for a spin. After it heated up I started to get a lean surge and the wideband was actually leaning out to the point of not reading (16.xx+). So I took it easy and got it home. Checked the pressure now that everything had heated up and I'm down to 19-20psi at idle and about 23-25 with the vacuum disconnected. The pump seems to sound the same as the day I got it. The gauge holds pressure without dropping as long as I stood there watching it after shutting the car off. I have no cold or hot start issues. Time for a 1:1 adjustable pressure regulator? Aeromotive?
  5. Do you think it's worth sending these venoms out? From what I read it seems like the general consensus is to just ditch them and buy new instead of wasting the time and money. I'm finding it somewhat difficult to find an 11mm high impedance 440cc. Thinking about switching to low or getting a 14mm rail. I'm running MS1/2.2. Dropping resistor not needed? This seems like one of the only sources for high/11mm http://www.ebay.com/itm/TRE-440cc-Fuel-Injectors-Fits-Denso-Nissan-Skyline-Toyota-Supra-Turbo-RB26DETT-/331047757412?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Model%3ASupra&hash=item4d13fbe664&vxp=mtr but I'm not finding much info on "The Racer's Edge" other than their own claim. Also not sure on the fitment of that style injector in the intake. "These injectors are IN STOCK, on our shelves. You will receive a Set of 6 BRAND NEW Denso style injectors, exactly as pictured. The injectors are matched to have only a 5.0% variance, which means you know that you are getting accurate injectors. We have had these injectors tested to confirm the flow rates, and typically the system balance is between 3.0% - 5.0%. These injectors are made by TREperformance and come with a 1 year warranty."
  6. I was doing some messing around with injector timings in tuner studio hunting down a smoother idle. I had asked the PO of the car what injectors were in it, 440cc Venom Performance high impedance injectors in an 11mm pallnet rail. I searched them and have pretty much decided to swap them out asap. Pretty sure one or more of them are running lean judging from 2 of the cylinders having white exhaust valves when I did my head gasket. Didn't think much of it until now. Also don't get a smooth idle unless my required fuel is at 9.0ms and open time is at 1.3ms. Anything less and it's rough and lean. Should I find another high impedance replacement injector or go with something like a low impedance supra injector? Ford Lightning injectors? Anyone have any dealings with these http://www.ebay.com/itm/TRE-440cc-Fuel-Injectors-Fits-Denso-Nissan-Skyline-Toyota-Supra-Turbo-RB26DETT-/331047757412?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Model%3ASupra&hash=item4d13fbe664&vxp=mtr ?
  7. I have been looking more into an internally wastegated holset variant lately.
  8. walbro fuel pump, palnet rail, 440cc injectors, megasquirt
  9. A little late to see this but I am currently running one of these turbos. It's great under 12psi. Spool is nearly instant. I'm afraid of leaving it at 14psi for risk of the glue going out. I'll probably be going with a holset variant and putting this up for sale in a little while. I want more boost!
  10. I want to learn more.
  11. Finally a day over 50 out. Got a chance to go over some things and mess with timing and fuel maps. I modeled mine off of cygnusx1's the best I could being an 8x8 map but it's running pretty good. Good cruising afr's, decent idle, not killing me on fumes and pulls well on 12psi. Recently I've noticed I have a warm start issue. Today it left me walking 3 miles home because I killed the battery cranking it. It seems to be flooding, If it doesn't start right up on a warm start, say I get a stumble then try again... it will flood. Then I'm left cranking with my foot to the floor until it stumbles and comes to life. If it starts right away without a stumble then it runs great. I've noticed giving it about 1/8th throttle when starting usual works. Sometimes it kicks back and stumbles. I'm sure it's just a setting I've overlooked in TS but I really am not all that familiar with it to know where to start. Under spark settings I tried dropping the cranking advance angle from +10 to -10. Seems like it helped a little with the kick backs at starting.
  12. I'd be very interested in someone in NJ as well. While I have a basic understanding of my way around tuner studio I'd really like someone that knows what they're doing to guide me a little. A dyno to tune it would be a major plus.
  13. Not on this turbo I'm not. When the weather gets nicer I've got to decide on what turbo to go with.
  14. A few months ago I figured out this was an rb25det turbo. I've since built a 3" exhaust with a 2.5 to 3" transition at the downpipe. I'm not planning on keeping this turbo from what I've read about the glue on the ceramic wheel giving out at above 14psi which I'm at now.
  15. Weather was finally cold enough to drive it out of my shop through the slushy muddy parking lot without sinking. Since the last time I posted I did an HBC cable adjusted in cabin boost controller, a 2 chamber race muffler, an electric exhaust cutout, a head gasket, rear wheel cylinder and some other small stuff. Just realized as I pulled into my driveway I forgot to put the 10mm timing cover to head bolts back in. Oh well who needs them anyway, lol. playing with the exhaust cutout. Picked up a spare r200 rear end and "installed" a "locker". Should make things a bit more fun. When the weather gets nicer I'll drive it back over to my shop and get it swapped in.
  16. Somehow it changed my WB sensor selection to unknown from AEM. I'll mess with it more when it's not a 5 degree night.
  17. I went to mess with it some tonight and when I went to look at the AFR targets for VE the values are showing up in voltage. What did I do for this to not be showing up in AFR values?
  18. I'll give those suggestions a try today. Finally stopped raining. I wish there were more screen shots of peoples maps instead of just zipped files floating around. Would make this easier.
  19. Weird because this is the tune that runs well. I can smell that it's rich but there's no surging or bucking under boost. When I start running analyze live on this tune is when that starts. edit: just realized my links were messed up. I see what you mean now. I'll have to bump them up to around 13-14.
  20. I'll get screen shots of all the settings tomorrow and post them.
  21. got yah. I definitely need to do more homework and go over all the settings again. With the original tune from the PO it pulls fine up to 13-14psi. I start the auto tune and I get bucking and surging with anything over about 8psi and wot. Load the old tune back in and back to normal. Possibly too lean? Here's the msq zipped anyhow. atune.zip
  22. Well I left settings alone basically and took it for about a 45 minute drive. Vary varied driving, few 0-70 pulls. Seems to lightly buck while in 0-70 pulls. I was going to post the msq it made but it says I can't attach that type of file. I'm going to look through the MS tables thread and see what I can find.
  23. Ok I'll give it a shot tomorrow with those settings. Yeah with the current tune I can safely romp WOT throughout the rpm range so I just want to possibly lean it out a tad and smooth it out. I don't believe analyze live was ever run on it before I got it. I should get it up to temp before running it right? Running a 180 tstat.
