  1. 82 l28et 440cc injectors walbro 255 lph pump rb26 turbo fmic n42 intake MS1 v2.2 AEM wideband The current tune from the PO seems to run fairly well, on the rich side. I recently purchased tuner studio and wondered if there was anything I should do or know before running the analyze live. Also, dynamic tune while driving or have it make a map to burn later? What is recommended?

Probably cheaper to ship it than gas if you wanted to bother with it. I think UPS ground does up to 75lb if you had a box sturdy enough. I've shipped third members before in a plastic tote from walmart with cardboard padding.

  6. I have no intentions of running with the WG disconnected. I put in the hallman boost controller and the flutter at 13 went away. 12psi is fun, 13 is more fun 14 is more yet. I want more but mostly I want some peace of mind at 14 knowing the turbo isn't going to self destruct. A t3/t4 is in the future. I don't plan on any future mods outside of what's in my sig. What trim would be recommended for that?
  7. I positively identified the turbo the PO used in the swap on my car as a ceramic wheel r33 rb26det turbo with the stock 280zxt 7lb wastegate and some aftermarket 2.5" downpipe. A big FMIC and 2.25" piping. Currently I'm running 12-14psi. At about 13psi it feels like the WG starts to open up sometimes. I'm thinking that's due to the no name ebay manual boost controller. I have a cable controlled Hallman MBC on the way to give that a try but I'm starting to worry about the limits of this turbo. Is it a definite danger of exploding the ceramic wheel at 14psi? Time to go with a t3/04 variant and 3" DP? Engine is a stock f54/p90a. Other details are in sig. I have not run a 1/4 mile or dyno'd the car yet. I did just purchase tuner studio to start running the analyze live.
  8. Romped on it pretty good today since I've broken in the new clutch. Just registered Tunerstudio to run the analyze live on it to try and get the afr right with the new 240sx throttle body. I'll mess with it tomorrow. Got some new pictures of my ugly paint.
  9. It's worth it and for 3/4" impact guns it's dirt cheap. Never had a bolt or nut it wouldn't break free. Even on a small compressor. Just need that quick initial shock. It's what got my crank bolts off when the 1/2" gun wouldn't

  11. Got radiator, fans, and 180 tstat in. Might have to put a thermostat fan switch in. Temp keeps dropping to 140 when driving with the fans on. Unless I bumped the temp sender plug loose doing the thermostat.
  12. Thanks, getting there. Not sure what my plans are for the turbo. I haven't read much good about the rb26 turbos with ceramic wheels. I've heard anything from it's great and will last forever if kept under 14psi and fed clean oil and coolant to pull it out asap before it dies.
  13. Took it for a cruise today. Still have to clean up some of the engine wiring, new rad, fans, throttle body. Valve cover needs cleaning and a coat of high temp paint. Haven't decided if I'm keeping the catch can yet. I'll probably pull it off to see if it makes much of a mess without it. I rarely drive it hard so I think I could get away with some clamped on filters. All it seems to collect is condensation from in its own hoses. My wiring needs to be trimmed and loomed from where I moved the relay board to the kick panel as well. I'm running out of warm days to get a good even coat of primer on the car so it will probably stay patchy until next spring.
  14. Just finished putting in a new valeo clutch and flywheel. Old clutch started letting go now that it's running better. Didn't like holding at 12-14psi. Also finished the 3" exhaust. Glasspack and a 4" tip.
  15. I recently picked up a 77 280z turbo project and now I'm doing the clutch and exhaust. I'm going 3" but the down pipe is 2.5" PO told me the turbo was out of an r33 but I don't know anything other than that. I can't find any numbers with a flashlight and a mirror unless I'm looking at the wrong place. Only "Nissan" on the compressor housing. Can't find an ID plate. The exhaust side flange is 6 bolts. There's a plate on the down pipe that says something like "top speed performance". First shot from the top, second from the bottom. Should I bother trying to find a 3" downpipe once I ID this turbo or just go 3" from the existing 2.5". The middle left bolt is locked up and will have to be sheared off just to get it off, but that's just the tip of the "rigged things" iceberg that I've been correcting as I go along.
  16. Ordered a valeo clutch kit, flywheel and parts to finish the 3" exhaust. New shots with how it's sitting on the 240 rear isolators. Yeah paint is on the list too.
  17. I had a 76 280z as my first car back in 1999. Sadly I was rear ended and rust had gotten the best of that car so I ended up selling it around 2006. Fast forward to 2013 and I'm back in another 280z. This one is a turbo swap with an r33 turbo, intercooler, megasquirt, 440cc injectors, palnet fuel rail, walbro fuel pump. It was mostly together when I got it but it ran fairly bad. I've been sorting things out, repairing rust, tuning and more in the past couple months since I picked it up. The day I picked it up Bad dog frame rail going in Floor pan section going in Firewall section patched Inner fender/battery area patched One of the body patches in progress. So far aside from the rust repair I've done KYB struts, eibach lowering springs, 240z rear strut isolators, msa front and rear sway bars, msa front and rear strut tower braces, fiberglass 240z front bumper. How it looks so far Since this picture the rear sits about 2" lower with the 240z strut isolators and cut down spacers. When I first put the eibach springs on I was pretty disappointed that the rear sat at practically stock height with the front sitting about 2" lower. All is good now though. With it running pretty good now I've discovered the clutch is next on the list of to do's. Not sure which to go with, I'll have to do some research. The car is making 15psi right now and when you get on it the clutch lets go in second through 5th. When that's done, my temporary pieced together exhaust will be going full 3" with a glass pack.
