I have a 72 240z with a L28 and 280z distributor. All was working in the ignition department and she was driving. Took her out for a drive and then she sat a few days and not there is no spark. Now when I have the key on the ballast resistor and ignition coil are getting hot. Ant suggestions? I do have a question about one wire that is not being used and it looks like it may go to the where the distributor mounts. Should it be hooked up? I bought the following: PerTronix Flame-Thrower II New Distributor Pickup Coil Rotor & Cap I want to run the PerTronix Flame-Thrower II so I can remove the ballast resistor.

I got a pair of barley used 370z seats. Fit great, I just need to install new floor pan before I mount them.

What kind of issues are you having? I was looking at them in British Tan for my 240z

I have kicked the idea around buying a totaled Chevy Spark EV and swapping its components in the Z. The Spark has an astonishing 400 lb-ft of torque. You could probaly grab a Spark for IAA for$2-$3k

I am a subie guy...well I have owned 2 Saabarus I am wondering if could mate the L28 to a Subaru 5spd tran, drive shaft, dif, axles. I cut the and weld to the datsun hubs?

Would you be willing to make a set for me? if so, PM your price...

Does the subie 5spd line with the stock shifter location?

so no new news... I can grab a miata minus driveline for $199...Just wondering about mated the front and rear suspension to one of my 240z's

A used S52 can be had for around $2000...sure but I would not throw a used S52 in my car. I had a 99 ///M3 and had the head rebuild and that was a cheap bill to pay!

BMW motor would be great, but not the S50/52 due to the cost of them. I would go M50/M52 turbo. lots of them making over 400HP

Datsun Spirit is 10 minutes from my house. I have already talked to Eiji about doing a STR 1 on my spare L28 but that price! I am new to the L-series and I guess the sticker shock of these motors has not sunk in. Do you feel that using Eiji's motors helps increase and hold the value of the 240z?

I am in thes ame boat, but I have a 72 with a cam'd L28, suspension mods...ect and a stock 73. I would like to build one to sell and use the profit from that one to pay for the 2nd to be built for me. So, I can tune up the 72 which needs paint and interior or put a L28(which I have a spare) or drop a SBC in the 73? Hard to say what would bring more money...
