  1. Its in Japanese so I can't be too sure what the name is. Its nothing I've seen here available in the US though. It looks really good, if it was available I would've gotten it for my s130 before I sold it. Try searching for it on Google, I believe google can also translate the sites for you from Japanese to English.
  2. I am looking for a 280zx turbo. 81-83. I would prefer a low mileage car but if you have a turbo zx then show me what you got and I'll look into it. I want: * Clean stock engine, no leaks *No cut wires *Five speed Please show me pictures, prices can be negotiated. Thank you for your time. Vehicle must be in CA.
  3. I got a s30 and was looking for the write up for swapping an l28et into the 240/260s. I remember reading it either on hybrid or some other site. I have been looking for it for about half an hour and No Dice. I've searched in the L6 section and the turbo/supercharger section as well. I might be using it wrong but please someone help me here. All i found was stuff like N/A to N/A<T and The ultimate turbo faqs
  4. wow I didnt realize this.. I should've studied more on the functions. I really need to read more about proportioning valve and stuff. Anyways, I went to three junk yards today and to my amazement, I only found ONE 240sx. And it was missing the rear rotors..
  5. Yeah I was planning on keeping the front stock and use the 240sx calipers w/ the 4lug 300zx rotors. About the proportioning valve, I have read about it but I'm not very familiar with brakes so I wouldn't know where it goes and what purpose it serves. I was planning on doing a turbo swap to my car so I thought having disc brakes in the rear would help with the braking power. I don't plan on using it on the track or anything like that, just for my personal satisfaction.
  6. Welcome to Hybridz!! TONS of great threads here and the guys here are super helpful!
  7. I have decided to go with the Modern Motorsports brackets! I'd just got done placing my order!
  8. So you went with the Maxima/280zx combo. Hmmm. Interesting.. I appreciate you guys giving me insight on this. Thank you all!. Now I gotta figure out which one I want..
  9. For the fronts I'm keeping them stock for now. I'm just worried about the back since my drum shoes are all worn. So how many different sets of pads did you go through in order to make it suit you? Oh I was also wondering if you bought the rotors with the package that they offer or did you buy them separate? I'm getting my check today so I'm going hunting!
  10. Looking for a good clean pair of 240z turn signals! Pm me. Pictures would be nice as well thanks!
  11. Sorry guys I just realized that this thread should be in the brakes section.
  12. Yeah those complete kits can be really pricey. So for 70 bucks you got yourself a pair of 240sx Calipers and a pair of z31 rotors. Wow thats a save. I get paid tommorrow and will most likely go to a local Junkyard to get myself those calipers/rotors too. Let me know how your installation goes!
  13. I have a 260z Late model I believe [guessing from the huge bumpers]. My drum brakes hardly work and the shoes are about gone so I've decided that instead of replacing them I will convert them to disc brakes. I have done some research and read for about 3 hours now. So far I have read about using maxima brackets and I do not want to go that direction, I've read some people have trouble with the 280zx calipers . I also read about using the brackets from Modern Motorsports which uses the 88-94 240sx rear calipers and 83-85 300zx rotors. I wanna know which packages you guys have or which rear conversions you guys have. Which ones are easy to do and give good results. Thanks guys!
  14. i recently removed my 260z front bumper and the bumper absorbers.. If I remember correctly the buumper itself was roughly about 35 Lbs and each of the absorbers were about 5 lbs. A home scale was used. THATS A TOTAL OF 45LBS. I wonder how heavy the back is.
  15. I have 3,500 cash in hand. I want a turbo 240 - 280z turbo nothing over 75, i do not want to deal with smog. I prefer it to be 75, but if not that is ok. PM me guys, let me know what you have.
  16. not sure about the brand but it is available at harbor freight.. ill try out the head bolts tho, thanks guys!
  17. ok so the head bolts fit right on? Ill try that.
  18. Hey everyone I just recently bought a L24 engine block w/ head. It came with an engine stand but the thing is it doesn't have bolts. What kind of bolts do I use? I tried searching around but nothing about engine stands and bolts. I really want to bolt this engine up onto the stand so all help would be appreciated.
  19. haha sure why not? i'd buy em if you were my neighbor lol.. I only take what I can fit in my pocket without making look suspicious. Last time I managed to take a v-tech solenoid off a civic, lol sold it on craigslist the next day.
  20. hahaha i wasnt kidding guys.. The only time I take fuses are when I go to the junkyard for a particular part and it isnt available.. I hate leaving empty handed so I take a few signs and a few fuses[not paid for]. hahaha.. REALLY. Its like im paying two bucks for it.
  21. hey guys, I was just in the pick n pull on jensen and goldenstate here in Fresno, CA. I came across a 300zx first generation with ENKEI RIMS.. chrome and gold. i believe it to be mesh. not sure.. i checked the front and one is severely bent but i believe the two on the right side are fine. If those rims fitted on my 280zx, believe me I would have taken 2 of them. Just letting you guys know.. I dont remember well because I was in a rush back to school, but I believe they were 1-1/2 to 2 inch deep-dish. They might be enkei 92's or the 96's.
  22. AGREED, come to think of it, i need to hit up the junk yard again, I need some more fuses. lol
  23. the drill holes are only put to balance the pulley, its already balanced so I believe it is interchangable.
