  1. Hey Johnny Red great pics, thanks. The bar looks great. Is that the 1.75" or 2.0" bar you installed. I'm waiting to order mine but haven't decided which size to go with. I'm concerned about clearance issues. Like yourself I have aftermarket seats (Recaros). Does anyone know if the removable crossmember brace is welded to the optional harness bar??? Or are they two seperate pieces???
  2. Hey guys, I'm looking for a roll bar for my "76 and came across this tread while searching. I went to the web site and had a look at the bar. What's the difference between the 1.75" DOM(?) and the 2.0" ERW(?) bar construction? (Besides 1/4"). Is there a benefit to the larger bar in the Z. What have you guys been installing? Thanks.
  3. Thanks for the help and advice guys. It is much appreciated. When I get my rad in I'll let you know how it turns out. Kind regards.
  4. Although there are a great number of related topics on mounting the radiator After searching I was not able to find an answer to my specific question. Can you mount the Griffin 26X19 rad using the JTR radiator mounts? Has anyone tried or currently using this set up?
  5. I posted back in late April when I purchased my used 250. Well 3 months later I finally have it in my garage. What did it take (?)... 2 days flying starting from Osaka, Japan ending in Pheonix, Arizona. Then 2 more long days of driving to Regina, Saskatchewan (that's in Canada). I have a feeling that was the easy part. Here's a list of what's waiting to go in. Energy Suspension master kit (graphite impregnated) 1 1/8" front and 1" rear sway bars R200 w/ 280 ZXT cv adaptors (anyone know where I can buy reman's) Toyota 4X4 front caliper brake conversion Rear disc brake conversion w/ 280 ZX master cylinder full MSD ignition system w/ 6AL Re-upolstered Recaro seats (have'nt found carpet yet) roll bar (4 point) Tru-trac serpentine belt system from Billet Specialties new frame rails (the old ones aren't rusty but looked to be crushed) aluminum mustache bar Edelbrock Pro-Flo EFI front strut brace by PDK Any advice/words of wisdom (aka knuckle savers or wrench throwing fits of rage) on any or all of these would be greatly appreciated. I'm back in Canada Aug. 25th and can't wait to get into it.
  6. Hey Trouble, Were you ever able to successfully fabricate the trim rings?? I would be interested in a pair. I have a Vela Rossa front on mine.
  7. Hey Chelle, I sent you an e-mail regarding your front clip. Did you receive it???
  8. Datsunlover...thanks for the reply. And not just telling me to search. But I get what you're saying, I'll keep that in mind next time. Cheers.
  9. Hey guys. I have a question for all those who are familiar with swapping parts from one Z to another. Will the complete drivetrain from a 280Z swap into a 240Z?? Is there any geometry issues? Are all the mounting surfaces and holes the same. And what about the fuel injection components. Cheers.
  10. I have a question for the 250 GTO guys. Has anyone ever tried to use the trim ring for the headlight covers available from Scorpion on a Vela Rossa front end??? How about the trim ring for the lower oval intake???
  11. Thanks for the info "Dan Juday". I appreciate it! Sorry "y-not" I won't be able to make Knott's. I really wish that I could. What a great experience to see all those beautiful cars and talk to the owners/builders. Great way to pick up a couple of cool ideas for my own. But neither me or my car will be anywhere near ready to make it. Enjoy the show!!! Cheers.
  12. 280Zone, how badly damaged is the front clip? Have you repaired it???
  13. Yes it is. With a black interior. Like I said earlier. Sounds like this is the one you were talking about. If it is , what can you tell me about it? Any and all info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again.
  14. Hey "Dan Juday"...I think that this "is" the car you speak of. I don't know the whole history of the car. But the story that received sounds very familiar to what you've described. If you, or anyone, have any info on the car that you could share with me it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
  15. Thanks for the warm welcome everyone. And for all the offers of help and assistance. I will post some pics and more info when I actually "see" the car. I'm in Japan, the car is in the U.S. and I'm from Canada. It's killing me not to be able to see or drive it.
  16. Well it took 8 years...but I finally found the car for me. It all started when I bought a '76 280Z with plans of a Vela Rossa kit. After finishing all the mechanical work I just couldn't cut up the car (I still have it). Next came a partially completed VR. I couldn't cut up my Z but the VR was too nice to forget about. I've always loved the lines of the 250 GTO and John Washington did a superb job of designing and engineering a convertible version. Unfortunately, due to many circumstances, it was never meant to be. And the car was sold. I've just purchased a Alpha One 250 GTO with Vela Rossa front clip. It has a 350 w/ 5 speed. The car needs a little work and a few modifications to make it truely "my own". I looking forward to working on and driving my first real Hybrid Z. Cheers.
  17. I just bought a 250 GTO replica. It needs a little work but a great platform to start with. I've been searching for quite some time. Finally found the one for me. Seeing this great example has just re-energized my excitment.
  18. Thanks John. I just ordered two sets. I'll let you know what they're like. Cheers.
  19. Congratulations on a beautiful car!!! Excellent color choice. I have recently purchased a 250 GTO kit manufactured by VR engineering. And will soon be having the color delema myself. Cheers.
  20. Does anybody know the ph# for JSK Innovations. I was at Jaun's web site to place an order and was unable to find any contact info. Thanks for the help. Cheers
  21. Sorry about the address. Try thishttp://www.pdkfabrications.bravepages.com. Cheers.
  22. Hey guys, I am looking for any info on a front strut brace that is manufacturd by pdkfabrication[http://www.pdkfabrication.bravepage]. Has anyone ever seen one of this installed??? Or, does anyone have any input at all on the product. Any and all responses would be appreciated. Cheers [/url]
  23. Great guys! Thanks. So my 4spd will line up with existing mounts from the automatic? As for the drive shaft, I have a complete drive train that I'll be installing (engine, tranny, drive shaft, rear end, and the suspension.) I'm just going to pull it out of my rusted out '76 and swap it in.
  24. Hey guys, I'm not even sure if this is the right forum section for this question, but... I'm looking to swap out my '76 drive train which has a 4 spd, into a '76 that was an automatic. Will this be possible with little to no modifications to the donor car body. I guess I'm really just worried about the 4 spd bolting in, plus the pedal assembly and the clutch stuff.
  25. I found a pair of Imagine wheels by Konig. They are 100mm. Will these work on a '76 280z?
