hey im in the process of getting leather gsr seats carpet and hatch back storage assembly from a late model integra, i was wondering if anyone has tried this. i figure that the z is almost as big as an integra, im thinking that with a little fab i can get the rear hatch covering in the z, so that when i pull open the hatch it will tug open the hatch compartment, so that i can hide my spare tire and um, audio equipment.. the seats im pretty sure i can just transplant the entire seat rail into pretty easily, im wondering if anyone has taken that rear piece, well hey have yyou???????

it would be a good idea in general to strengthen the chassis man have you checked and saw that those early z's are paper thin all around? imagine that with three times the torque it was built for.. davy caught me at a good time and got my cage, but as soon as my baby is up and running, im throwing in a rollbar with plans to extend it to the back and possibly swingouts for the doors and look into subframe connectors, i can seriously start feeling the flex right now!!! justs my thoughts. ps. im from the yay area ------------------ http://photos.yahoo.com/lenster94116 come see the ghetto bird

yo youve got a wild car there big guy! wow! youve got the scarab position like mine, finally someone else with the far in front engine setup, i personally dont feel the understeer, but no roadracing yet... that hoodscoop is loud, but i bet that car has the guts to justify it, i hope. show us the R230! please please show us... man that thing is crazy looking man! congrats ps. smoke em up! -
i like the sr20det, 200lbs at 2800 from a four banger sounds like plenty, and thats stock. put a 8 in it! torque problems disappear faster than you will!
-
sorry, forgot to say, man that motor is gonna run some bucks, motor and tranny minimum 5-6k and that is probably way off......man but that combo with no smog and straight pipe wow....
-
they put out like 260 or so and torq is like 300+ and they rev like nuts! do you guys know if they are still stock rollerized motors???? drove a 96 gt once and i can remeber just revving the crap out of it, the r's just wind out so quick, i like it~!
-
do that, thats cheap! the swap should be pretty straight forward, just swap as much 300zx into that first gen, maybe go painless wiring harness for extra safety, man you can swap so much straight acrosss as far as the rear end and driveshaft, brakes, man you have the makings of a really quick car, freakin do it!

hey there, i have vents that look like 280z vents on my hood, a stock datsun 240 radiator i think that is one of the the reasons my v8 z doesnt overheat, just a theory, may help cooling a whole lot, but if your hood is in good condition and youre not running high hp ,prob wont need to it, but looks cool though!
-
im saying late 70's datsuns because some guy down the street when i was a kid had an 810 with a small block in it, primered with a fat dent in the quarterpanel, i mean fat dent he couldnt even close the hood, he used hoodpins and his hood was always a little open, but that thing would roast em so hard and long you couldnt even tell where it stopped spinning em!!!!! i was 14 years old and the guy was a lot older, and that thing was gross, he used green glow in the dark paint and striped it too, for extra ugliness i guess.

i like the supra tailights, but yes function to me is always more important, please no square headlights please.. ever think about the skyline tailights, those are the hardest IMO, would look good flushed in the back. IMSA cars are hard, big flares big meats big timer! please no primadonna ques hey im still waiting for my ride in the l series monster!!!!!!! -
youre gonna laugh at me when you hear this i went to the local kragen and bought one inch or rubber hose, fuel line or whatever i used their sissors to cut the thing open length wise, folded it in half, and shoved it in next to the tach, never had it fall out or slip in about six months of commuting and racing...for about seven cents.

Cost of chassis work.. need advice
fl327 replied to MYRON's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
yes, the thought of ujoints and driveshafts breaking at speed scares the stuffings out of me. 2700 sounds really good for that kind of work, but i like the r230 idea, alot alot anyone know what gears they came with? darius is off the hook, he really hangs tough with that r1.... -
good topic, go with that chevette or vega or pinto three of the ugliest cars ever created that will take a v8, or go with some late 70's datsuns like the b210, 810, and stick sbc on it, youll never be uglier and faster or those k-cars,yucko, i would kill myself if one of those beat me....

hey everybody on this board is going to both ridicule and emabarass me forever, but i have been running the stock 240z radiator for about a year now, and i havent been over 210 in bumper to bumper traffic, and run at 175-180 in regular driving, and my motor is in scarab position with the engine mounted fan and a butchered fan shroud, funny huh?

ok fine mr. shiro anyone from the bay got this going on in their z, im the red z that cant drive on irving street anymore after the infamous 1-2-3 rubber festival that concluded with a hasty left turn and a meter maid trying to chase me up the street.... hey what part of frisco you from shiro??? and whats in your Z?? huh huh, ever go to brotherhood way, went once and raced an f body and never looked back....but yeah right now im looking into a gnx six speed or an l28 turbo monster, im more into that gnx though its too tough...and my buddy is a turbo buick specialty tech....holler at me yo len168@onebox.com

Ever think about reinforcing these paper thin doors? T-bone=
fl327 replied to Racin_Jason's topic in Body Kits & Paint
i know what you mean about paper thin, and dang i didnt know i would have to break the thing open to get to the internals liek that wow. well yeah, i got t-boned by a motorcycle at like 10mph, and have a hairy ass dent on my passenger door, hole in rocker panel, and a fat quarter panel dent thanks to him, yes paper thin doors, he almost went through it and he wasnt bearly moving.... -
hey just wondering if this was possible a turbo buick with a six speed, do you know if it would work or if anyone runs this. im looking into maybe going l series with some boost, but i like how the domestic motors get that low end grunt..... thanx yall ------------------ http://photos.yahoo.com/lenster94116 come see the ghetto bird

hey im super interested in hookin up on a t56 after i drove my friends ss maro the other night, took that bad batch from 65 to 130, and once i shifted into 6th, the rpm was like just over 2000 oh my lord..... how much for a rebuilt or salvaged tranny like this, man its the ish. getting kind of tired of goin 75 at 2300 in fourth.

fl327 replied to fl327's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis

iroc-z rims on a sbc v8z?????
fl327 replied to fl327's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
man thats a bummer, but thanx though, dangit some vette rallies or irocs would just be fantastic. scca, does the five lug conversion kit youre talking about make it so that you can mustang rims (cobra rs????) or even the later nissan rims, i seen a couple z's with the 90-96 tt rims and i thought it looked pretty nice......... -
hey guys, this might be a dumb question but have any of you guys done a five lug to chevy sizes and tried to stick the iroc two stripers on them, personally i think that would look really cool and give some homeage to the sbc without really saying it outright. they are like 16x7 or so and i know a lot of you guys are familiar with them. does anyone have them rockin right now or have a chevy lug conversion info so that i can see if it is cost effective and work without flaring the car....
-
im wondering if more than one person in the us has a skyline swap in a 1970-78 Z???? i think that its a great motor for these cars, still keeping up with the inline six and being nissan and all, plus the fact that it rocks ass.
-
hey what kind of exhausts are you v8ers running, right now im running a single 2.5 pipe, it sounds great and all, but i want to turn it up, im going headers and want to change out the piping too, maybe dual flows or one large flow like 3.5inches or bigger, also thinking of going with cutoffs that flow into the ground..whacha think z sters??????

hey i just checked out a genuine scarab bellhousing down at erics in richmond it uses the 1200 slave with a 11/16 bore, the 1200 i use is with a 3/4 and i use a hooker bellhousing, maybe the same thing without all the dressing...
